But the vitriol Hogg spewed toward Dana Loesch and Marco Rubio (who both remained very calm though they could easily have taken the kid off at the knees) at that "town hall" setup was perfectly fine? If the little pr**k thinks he can just keep dishing it out he'd better be able to take it in return. He probably had no idea what his handlers were getting him into, but I'm sure he'll be a CNN contributor before the summer is over. He's just their type.

Hogg said, "on the day of the shooting, I grabbed my camera and rode the three miles to the school..." Is there something ambiguous in that statement?
-
I agree with your second paragraph. But David Hogg and his handlers have no desire to attack government ineptitude. They actively support it. "Never let a good crisis go to waste". That kind of thing. They revel in it. Not the massacre itself of course, but the blow-back opportunities that the massacre has created. I've also seen no 'credible' reports of threats, death or otherwise against he or his family. Blog posts and anti-Trump websites, but nothing that would constitute serious journalism. What Laura Ingraham (not Ingram) said was wrong, and she's apologized for it. These zealots want to see her stoned to death, burned at the stake, and buried, because she disagrees with them. There's nothing more to it, and it's wrong.

...fully supported by the far left, of course, because he currently serves their purpose. It's sad that people don't understand that.

Actually Mr. Hogg and his handlers are directly campaigning to ruin Laura Ingraham's career because she tweeted out something that was deemed 'insensitive'. She has since apologized because it was kind of a dumb thing for her to say, but don't tell me these children have no bearing on anything when they are capable of ruining the life and career of someone they personally disagree with. That's a very dangerous road to take.

All the best you on your Birthday!!!

They're being used by adults in decision-making positions to influence other adults in voting positions through emotional persuasion. That's the long and short of this whole thing. If you ignore that fact, you're being blind to reality. David Hogg's mouth is moving, but Chuck Schumer's thoughts and words are coming out. Stupid, gullible, easily manipulated, naive...
-
You and I can't be 12 yo forever. Eventually adult decisions are required. That's my point. These children (David Hogg) are not adults capable of making adult decisions.

Glad to have you with us, and have a great birthday!

...Paula's beagles stacked up in a giant ghillie suit sounding loudly as they approached with cold six-packs in their backpacks, anxious to rescue the stricken and beleaguered HNY'ers . The dust would be beaten back, for now. But did the Culvercreek Hunt Club have dry firewood inside? And was this winter or summer?...

When I was 18 yo I very quickly learned just about everything involved with framing houses. I worked on hundreds of them. It was my job and I'm a fast learner. But I quickly realized that I knew nothing about being an actual house builder. That took many, many more years of seeing how all of the different trades and disciplines interacted and how they needed to be coordinated. Kids don't understand that complexity. They think that all one needs to build a house is a saw and a hammer, without understanding the complexity behind it. Fine for a fort in the woods, I guess, but not so great as a basis for governance. It's not just the kids either. I'd be willing to bet not many of their parents have any knowledge of The Constitution. I'm not an "angry old man". I've just been around long enough to know how to look at bigger pictures when confronted with big problems. Now, get the he!! off my lawn. ;-]

It's not just about "knowing" things, it's about understanding things. And about how they all work together.
-
They have every right to "scream at the world". That's why we have the First Amendment, which they would also like to get rid of BTW. Like I've said, thes kids aren't necessarily bright. My point is that serious people should not listen to them because, for the most part, they're being stupid and unreasonable. I understand they are traumatized by what happened. I was severely beaten in a mugging/robbery 20 years ago. That doesn't qualify me as someone to make recommendations on the legislation of additional assault laws.
-
I believe "stupid" is the greater part of that mix.
-
Congratulations Larry, and Happy Birthday, BTW. All the best to you in your future 'happy days'.

I wish I still had a passion for it, because I was pretty good at it. 100 hour work weeks were not unusual because it was a lot of fun. Things change, I guess. Maybe they'll change back.
-
Just do your own thing, Wooly. Commissioned work gets to be a pain in the butt. I had a lot more fun just building random furniture pieces and guitars and then selling them than I did making stuff at the direction of people who didn't really understand that I was doing it because I enjoyed it.

To get your blood boiling

I'll retrieve his entire SCOTUS supporting position for you, if necessary. But Scalia basically said that the Second Amendment is an individual right that is not restricted to government-constructed limitations. The whole point of the Bill of Rights was/is about keeping the Federal Government off the backs of the citizens. -

If you're deemed worthy of being among the privileged class you can surround yourself with all the guns and gunmen you can afford. Those deemed less privileged may be allowed to use sticks and stones. It's a medieval system being renewed in America today, right under our noses. -

Control the education system and you will eventually control the voters. I was fortunate enough to have teachers who cared more about my education than my indoctrination.
