Who is saying otherwise?

Between 9 / blue hill and river going south are getting hammered since since August
-
No lung there. Depending on the angle might clip the liver. So you got a gut shot deer. Give it at least 12 hours. I would go out after the morning movement slows down…say 830 or 9 am

Farm that I run dogs on in columbia county, the farmer told he is up two dozen this year. He said at night there isn’t a single deer in fields. And there are guys still trying to fill tags there.
-
Flipping ticks been terrible, even as cold as it was I was picking them off me this morning
-
I did not draw the tag this year.
-
Hunted this guy for two seasons. He is still alive as this summer.

Usually the midges hatch in mud below the high water line which is why EHD is normally associated with drought conditions. Obviously that isn’t the case tho year; As our climate continues to warm we can expect the frequency of out breaks more often in NY and I like have seen on our farm in the Midwest we have seen where EHD was devastating to our population and we suffered for several years. Who knows how much worse it would have been if hunters in the area had the full every legal tag minds set that is all too prevalent in New York.
-
Won’t stop morons in NY from filling every last tag they have. I swear we have hunters that would shoot the last deer in the forest if they had tag for it.
-
Maybe because ND actually counts them unlike NY.

PICK AND SCORE Thread for HuntingNY Forum 2021 Fantasy Pic em'

Someone should have picked me. Figured I would sit in the woods last night and clear my mind. Shooting this buck wasn’t the brightest idea though. Didn’t find him and get him out and hung till 3am and left for work at 5 am… Hopefully I can get all the family stuff every one to my uncles funeral this week and maybe sneak down to KY next week for three or four days hunting. -
Climate is getting warmer. It has changed greatly already in my short lifetime. Look at ticks for example, moose and caribou populations Ect … I think what we are seeing is shifting baseline. As wet as it’s been this year EHD should have been a non issue, lakes river and stream where full, no mud below the water lines, no drought to speak off…yet we have EHD.

British Columbia Mountain Goat Bowhunt
Trial153 replied to Trial153's topic in Out of New York Hunting
It’s very mild, doesn’t have a distinct flavor, the fat is very palatable. It’s excellent. Steaks will be chewy as should be expected considering the animal and where it lives. Nothing like domestic goat or even lamb. It’s excellent. -

Have him seed in alfalfa and you should be okay.. -
Drive in still open and really is fantastic, worth a trip when the weather is nice on the weekend. I don’t know if Greenville packing is still taking deer but he is open.
