NYS is also a Wildlife Violator Compact state, so don't think they'll be going out of state to hunt either! My solution would be to personally call the local ECO, tell him what happened and offer to escort him to the spot. I'd also gladly testify. When people know they're being watched, they tend to back down and halt their illegal activity. This will also be a great way to get to know your ECO and assure them that you're on the up & up.

it's not coincidence, but rather territotial/communication

time lapsed coon crap

Had a spray bottle of doe urine in my cargo pocket. Turns out the cap popped off while I was walking and every step was spraying more and more inside my pocket. We quickly discovered the stench when we all piled in my brothers tahoe after the hunt.

What kind of question is that? Do you want a Chips Ahoy or a Keebler El fudge? lol

I can just hear all the false accusations trickling into the TIPP line. If we as NYS outdoorsmen/women are expected to be stewards of the woods & water then why not just write out the regs in black & white so there is no questioning them. How many kids might be getting taught wrong by misinformed mentors? Kinda counter productive, sort of like not allowing the thousands of hunters that take to the wilds of NYS to shoot ANY wild/feral hogs

I love my mod.11. My grandpa who passed 2 years ago left it to me. I kill a deer with it every year

A spike horn in the mid 90's with my dads Marlin 55 bolt action 12ga.

honest question, when's the last time you seen an ECO actually in the woods? I never have in 19 years of hunting/trapping. I've only been asked to see my license once and that was on the road inside state lands while we were at our vehicle. Even then he might not have even stepped out of his vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I respect their mission especially as an under-manned force, but the only proof.of their work I see is in the Cuffs & Collars article in the NY outdoor news

is the shotgun for sale?
-
I probably will take you up on that, just let me figure out where I'll be hunting more. I only got the 7s this year. I'll let you know
-
for the price, it doesn't seem too bad. I'm sure you could get it to shoot well
-
Kind of off topic, but I've shot multiple deer with a cigarette hanging outta my mouth. If you wanna have a fire, go for it as long as it's legal

I'm way behind this year in the trapping department. I'll be lucky to lay any steel before the snow flies. -
I forgot to mention that this was with my 40 year old Jennings T-star XL. This is her last season.

CX shafts, but I glued on my own blazer vanes

You ought to see a thread going on over at NYtrappers forum. They all seem to really like beaver, muskrat, coon, etc. Now I'm a trapper, but that's grodie! -
that's what you do with cigars? That's like chewing Big League chew vs. chewing Red Man! lol

They will work if you do your part. I made my longest shot(50yds) on a doe 3 years ago using them. She was dead almost before I dropped my bow arm. I've been using Easton carbon raiders for two years. Next year will be new everything

Belo is spot on in saying "don't give up". You may be surprised of what deer can be out there. Good luck
-
That's a tough one, it don't take much to burn out 22 acres. I'm sure rutting activity will bring some deer through, but if there is no habitat/land features to hold deer then you might be beating your meat until the rut or atleast until the corn comes down. Is this your only hunting spot?

Deer have been hitting the oaks hard. It's likely your cam just isn't in a good spot. The deer will only go where they need to when the weather is warm. I've been finding fresh scrapes for the past week so soon those deer will be less patternable. When they start chasing does, you'll want to hover around doe bedding zones. If the extent of your scouting is hanging a trailcam, then you're going in blind. To be honest, there isn't much land in NYS that doesn't get traversed by coyotes. So how big is the parcel of land? Is there any nearby agricultural activity? Are you the one using the land?

It's a give and take situation. I don't know the details of your agreement, but this can be a good lesson to new hunters. Sometimes a few weekends per year helping with chores is enough to keep the landowners happy, others might want a little cash kicked their way. What ever you're doing, it's always a good idea to kick it up a notch and assure them that you're willing to help out whenever. To put it simply, just show your appreciation.
