Sad Day for NYS!
DirtTime replied to DirtTime's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
No NYS Governor is never going to win on a 3rd party vote! If they did, that person would have to be straight out of a movie or comic book. All your votes for that third party were votes for Cuomo! Having a dream is one thing, dealing with reality is another. The bottom line is, and I know you don't like this, but we have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Having dreams is one thing, dealing with reality is another. -
Sad Day for NYS!

I don't know if it was 1965 that did it, that opened a door. I feel more like the 90's through present have been damning to this country and what it is supposed to stand for. I guess I just look at things differently. -
Sad Day for NYS!

I agree, but what's your point? Small towns still can't compete with the numbers. People keep saying UpState doesn't vote, and we do. -
I can't believe the margin Cuomo won by! I voted Red across the boards, with the exception of my Town Justice, had Conservative or Dem, went Conservative. I can't believe the people in this state! Who would vote for a man who cuts school funding to build gondolas, wants to take away SS and Disability benefits to give more money to illegals ( yeah, I said illegals! ), loves Obama Care, and hates the second amendment? I could go on and on with all the reasons not to have voted this jerk in for a third term, but those of us with a brain are already aware. And please, save the rhetoric about "Upstate" people need to get out and vote! We do! The problem is the large metro areas that outnumber the small towns! I really don't even want to have that discussion again, to hard to make people understand that. Anyone who voted Blue, I hope your hair falls out! Anyone who voted 3rd party, I hope the fleas of 50,000 camels infest your crotch! Here's to another two years of bullshit, and to a most likely Presidential run from this dork in 2020! To all my fellow voters who voted Red across the board, thank you for trying to get NYS in some form of sanity again!

Forgot to say Congrats to the Red Sox on the WS win! I don't follow baseball very much at all, just enough. But, being a Mets fan, the Sox are the enemy of my enemy - the Yankees, so I almost always pull for them! So it was great to see Boston put the over paid Bombers in their place in the playoffs and go on to win the Big One!

Thanks for the replies folks. I guess I'll put a few drops near where I will be setting the wife up next Sunday.

Had to double check about posting this pic. The wife isn't always on board with me posting her pic on here.

Thank you Bionic. I guess my question was a bit off and not worded correctly. Will it still be good after two years?

I have a bottle of Tinks #69 I bought two years ago to help the wife get a buck. Never used it. Will it still be good to use this season?

Pretty good morning. We were in and set up just as the light started to break in the sky. Set the wife up in a pretty open area so she had a better chance of seeing anything. Hunted back near our camp site area. The deer travel through this shallow ravine on the north side to get to a bedding area, so I wanted her to have the best chance. I hunted about 150 yards away just around a bend in some thick stuff overlooking a flat just above the same ravine. About 15 minutes after first I had a doe mosey her way past me coming from the direction where the wife was set up. Not legal shooting time even it had been a buck. I wondered if the wife had seen the doe as well. Yup! Just like I had patterned them in years past, she went right past the wife, up past me, and into the real nasty thick stuff. Betting she then went down into the back of the swamp and bedded down. At around 10AM I got a text it was time for hot coffee and something to eat. When I got to where she was and she turned around her face was pretty red. WIND BURN! So we hiked out to the car and met my buddy at the house. We chatted for a bit with him and talked about the afternoon hunt. We called it a day. Next week weather permitting, if the wind is harsh, I am going to insist she wear my balaclava, I always offer it and she always says no. We may have only seen a lone doe and no bucks, but at least every time up on this land I have her on deer even if they are does. This year she's hunting early enough to be out for the rut, so those does I have patterned will start bringing the bucks around. We both had a great time being out there, and that's what matters most! Enjoying nature. I will say this, I was happy as a bear in a honey shop to be carrying a rifle and not a bow.

Took 3 minutes to decide on breakfast. I will make a few egg-ham-cheese sandwiches on hard rolls. They might be cold when we eat them, but that's part of hunting.

Synthetic or wood stock what do you like better .

I kinda like Black Forest Ham or Rare Roast beef! Swiss with spicy mustard. -
Seeing you are asking who else is a member, you didn't have two "Active Status Members" to help out. So you must got a membership have via the route of meeting with board of directors. How did that go? Wife and I keep debating on this place. We would have to do the "Social Membership" due to some personal reasons. Been by there a few times. Range looks basic with I think two ( maybe three ) benches.

Back on for this Sunday. Weather is looking good ( for now )!

Never hunted the Dacks with a group, where did you get that? A couple times with one other hunter. But I was alone most of the time. Pay attention son! Many of my hunts around Benson were solo hunts, as near the SZ Summit/Jefferson area. Do what you want, hunt how you want, enjoy room service as you see fit. I actually have to sign out now, even though trying to get the wife on deer in the ADK's isn't working out, weather for my area may allow me to get out with the bow.

Was that on the Preserve, which to my understanding you can't hunt.
