  1. Thank for the site and work you do on it and Happy Anniversary John. I seem to be finding things fairly easily.
  2. First beer in the new glass a very nice guy from this site sent to me. I have tried Blue Moon a couple times, but this one I like. Maybe it's the glass.
  3. This turned out great. Used a rub of paprika, thyme, rosemary, and cumin just before putting them on the grill. Side of steamed veggies and white rice.
  4. Thank you much for the link. I think I will give this a go over the weekend.
  5. New York already has a high 'cougar' population. Maybe teaching 'them' to hunt would be a better plan.
  6. Very sad to read. Condolences to the family and friends.
  7. Is there a way to use a small portable charcoal grill as a smoker? If so how do I set it up?
  8. Finally able to put some my Bills collectibles out ( and buy more now that I have a spot for it ). Can't post of the pics of my digital art here, but some of that will be printed, framed, and hung in my office now as well.
  9. Will be putting two half chickens on the grill in about an hour. Marinating in soy sauce and fresh orange juice since 2pm. Might be to full to post an after pic.
  10. Usually think brushy areas, marshes/swamps, thick pines, and as mentioned places where they can be concealed from danger, and have an escape route. When scouting I look for runs going in or out of these areas, and then look for food and water sources in the area. Once I have these located it's time to start sitting in the evenings and mornings to get travel down. Once the season starts though, they like to change things up and go everyplace but where we saw them last. LOL
  11. Just got my truck back running Sunday. So might start taking evening drives. Right now just getting used to things. Met a few of the neighbors, so far most get silent when I have brought up hunting. Probably because I'm the new guy on the block. There are a few fields I do plan o driving by, corn and what looks like a few natural funnels leading towards creeks.
  12. The g/f used my phone and took this pic tonight. It is what it is, not super clear but still nice.
  13. That's a good drive from Malone. My g/f's grandmother has a camp in Malone near the preserve. Been there a few times. Beautiful country. But, if you want attractions for the family, Malone isn't it unless you want to hike and fish. If in that area I suggest the Paul Smith Visitation Center, great place to take the family on a hike.
  14. Casino in Malone NY? Where? I agree, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid are the touristy areas. Also if you just want to get a day at a nice beach check out Meacham State Park.
  15. I did mine today for the same reason. Just a few high weeds sticking up. But, my lawn only takes abut 30 minutes now. I will have to add to the cardio later as well.
  16. Lead poisoning...... Pretty much sounds like eating it tartare style.
  17. Happy birthday Zem! Drink some beer, grill a steak, and have fun with family and friends.
  18. Tomatoes stuffed with hot Italian sausage, fresh garlic, and mozzarella.
  19. My beers after mowing for the first time in the new place. Never tried the Light before. It was actually pretty good.
  20. Scum are scum! If they want to wage a war then act like men and wage a war. This killing innocent people isn't war. It's cowardice.
  21. IMO it's a prime cut. If you have a wood fire pit and can grill it low and slow over wood coals it's fantastic as well.
  22. I love deer heart. It's a bit mineraly like liver. As mentioned, slice it thin ( not super thin ) and fry it up in some butter with fresh garlic, and onions if you choose too. There are a ton of recipes out there. My favorite way to cook it is pan fried with just some fresh garlic and butter.
