  1. Sounds like the jerk got a few awards to go along with ripping people off. Should run for president. I hope they at least enforce the fines and some jail time.
  2. None. I am not a camo nut. If I have a gun with a wood stock I will leave it that way. I just offered you an alternative.
  3. Not finding CCI Stingers in my area. Bought some Winchester 37gr Super Speed hollow points, and some Armscor High Velocity 36gr Hollow points.
  4. Why dip the gun? There are alternatives. I posted this on another thread, try this; http://www.mossyoakgraphics.com/shotgun-wrap-mossy-oak-camo-gun-skin
  5. I say Whisper Biscuit. You can get replacement whiskers that just slide in and there are no moving parts. I have never used a 'drop-away', but I used a few of those spring rests and was never happy.
  6. I slept in a little ( actually, the alarm went off at 3:45 and I fell back to sleep ). Got in the woods around 9, stayed until almost noon. Not a peep, and nothing seen. The only thing I accomplished was to loose my owl call and my face net.
  7. Happy birthday. Celebrate tonight, and go turkey hunting in the morning.
  8. Thanks for the info philoshop. I was looking at the Bugbuster. http://www.opticsplanet.com/leapers-utg-3-9x32-compact-cqb-bug-buster-rifle-scope-w-rings-sunshade.html Might be good for what I want. Looking at maybe shooting some woodchucks.
  9. Tomorrow will be day 5 out. I haven't heard a a peep from any turkey in the other 4 days. It's getting depressing, but I am not going to kill a bird from my chair.
  10. I agree. The issue I have is everyone wants to be a martyr these days, and too many don't have a clue as to what being a true martyr is.
  11. Nope! I been trying to watch this for a few days now in it's entirety. I just can't. Over all I made it through about 70%. This really has nothing to do with game conservation in the US as a main point. It did prove a point though, Americans are too busy worrying about what's going on in other parts of the world to care about what's going on in our yards. I was a little shocked to hear the Albany Pine Bush mentioned. They do a ton to keep that area and the creatures there protected. Just wish they would keep out of state hunters off the preserve.
  12. Looking for suggestions on a scope for my M&P 15 .22 LR. Have a red/green dot that came with it, but I am looking for a basic reticle scope. I really want to stay around $100 with scope and mount. Any suggestions for the .22 lr?
  13. I agree that our government is very flawed and people need to stand up for your rights. With that said, if you make an armed protest, or threaten to make an armed protest, you will be met with an armed response. If you are not ready to accept the consequences for your actions, then don't cause an issue.
  14. The big issue is that the uninformed or those who are in the middle are to easily swayed by the meanderings of too many people in high places that have no clue as to what game conservation is. That game conversation directly relates to land conservation, and vise versa. These same people who are against hunting would crap a gold brick if hunting was banned and a bear tore the crap out of their house looking for food while they were on vacation in the tropics, because there was no hunters to keep numbers down. Then you have the dunces. You know who they are. I was in FYE last fall to buy a CD ( yeah, they still make those ! ). I had a Realtree hat on and a Mossy Oak sweatshirt. This dunce walks up to me and out right asks me if I am a hunter. I said yea. He goes into a spiel about animal rights. I smiled and when he was done, I asked him very politely where he though the leather jacket and shoes he had on came from and waked away. The web makes it way to easy for the masses to be mis informed, and be baited into following agendas rather then doing any real research on their own. Because after all, "I read it on the web it's true.".
  15. I picked up the OT's because of the price and if they break who cares. Gave one to the g/f for her tackle box, tossed one in my smaller tackle box, and one in my pocket. Thanks for the links, Larry3020.
  16. Been looking at the pocket foldres for a few months now in the sporting goods area Wallyworld. $4. Decided to pick up a few to keep in tackle box, pocket, w/e. Seem to be pretty well made for the money.
  17. I don't know why but I am on a Sierra Nevada kick right now. Trying the Nooner Pilsner right now. Great beer, but heavy. I think it would over power a good meal.
  18. Thanks for the info Al, much appreciated. The .22lr's I used in the past shot pretty well with the Remmy Thunderbolts at the range, but the few times I did hunt with them I always used CCI Stingers. Both were Marlin, one was a bolt and one was a semi-auto. That was a long time ago. Figure I may as well get some use out of my M&P and hunting chucks sounds like it might be fun with it. Just going to have to get a decent scope.
  19. I am thinking of getting into hunting them over the summer. So, I have a question. How good is a .22lr at taking them?
  20. What is a "Militia"? Neither Ammon Bundy or Lavoy Finicum had a 'militia'. They had a group of radicals hell bent on an agenda, that's it! They led people to follow them just like that nut-job David Koresh did with the Branch Davidians in Waco.

Biz, you do know a thong isn't meant to be worn like a hat.....Don't you?
  22. The only wrong way to hunt turkey is to forget they may be dumb, but they sure seem to be smarter then us at times. The area I am hunting doesn't have a lot of places to set up in. It's real thick and public land, so moving too much isn't a big option.
