Love the coloring of the wood! Maybe if the wood was more oval it would really set the whole mount off.

That's cheating. LOL I swear, red squirrels locate you and they hang out just to be annoying, telling them to move along doesn't work. If they were worth eating I would have brought home a few today.

I gave up on the area I was hunting. I knew there were birds in there, they just weren't vocal. I went to a different spot this morning and heard first gobble of the season. That was it, one gobble to my trying to act like an owl. No replies to the pot call. I am not sure about numbers being down in my areas, I see them in the fields driving home and it..ehem, irritates me to no end. LOL They just seem to be quiet.

I dare anyone to walk around the streets in any city in NY with a long gun or a "sporting rifle". Let us know how the arrest went. -
Why do you find turkey more exciting or as exciting than deer hunting?

I actually prefer deer hunting. The reason I got into Spring turkey hunting as a teen was to get in the woods and be hunting for something I can eat. I do enjoy calling the birds and that interaction. But, nothing beats a frosty morning with a little snow and seeing deer. JMO. -

Long Trail Limbo IPA. Went really well with some raw clams.

Was going to do chili dogs. But, picked up a 50ct bag of Maine Clams at Price Chopper. Didn't want to keep them in the fridge for too long. Had a few raw and steamed the rest. Not the best clams on the planet but still a great change from the norm.

We had a feast. Went to a dinner for my g/f's work. Appetizers were octopus, shrimp, lamb meatballs with eggplant, roasted tomatoes, and roasted peppers. Then a pasta dish. Main course was porter house steak, duck, roasted potatoes, green beans and tomatoes, and asparagus.

I wouldn't let it get to you Belo. You did a lot to look for the bird. Tomorrow is another day. Looks like a pretty good pattern.

They are no joke. I just finished my two week anti-biotic regimen and the bite I got three weeks ago is still red. I double doused my clothes with Sawyers, for turkey hunting. Man those darn things give me the willies now.

Have you guys scouted enough to start thinking about where to put stands/blinds yet? Never to early to start thinking.

I am no expert, but even I can usually locate a bird or two and at least hear something. Taking a break. 7 days and nothing. Time to look at another area or something. Seasons half way gone so it's time to rethink plans A-Z and start over.

Suggestions On A Picatinny Mount Scope

Philoshop, have a question if you are inclined to answer. Been looking at the reviews of the Bugbuster, and I see a lot of people saying they are getting the scope with and off angle reticle, after sending it back for a replacement they get the same issue with replacement scope. Have you read or heard about that issue? -
Ah, but Mountain Men, Hillbilly Blood, Alone, and even Alaskan Bush People have hunting and fishing in them.

Watched it a few times. It was OK. When it comes to shows like this I really like Hillbilly Blood more.
