  1. Where are you from? Where do you hunt? Pretty sure it's the NYC area after reading some posts. My question for you 'Uptown Redneck" is easy to answer, I have asked before. Are you Pro USA or Anti USA? Then again, you have answered my question. You are anti gun, you proved that with your spiel about "assault weapon" bans. Do you even know what an "actual" assault weapon is? Not what the stupid 'anti's' say, do YOU know what it is? You spew your crap, you argue ( I used to do that too ), but you never make a case for the ground you stand on. When questioned you you bail or retort to the nest post. You do realize the politicians you are supporting are going to take your Browning and Winchester away too. Right?
  2. Nice. Just remember when cooking it, it's a bit leaner so it can dry out faster then a Butterball. At least in my experience.
  3. With full size ribs I always do a little oven time. Beef or pork.
  4. I'm not bad at calling. The two birds I called in for myself were before most people had access to the web and cassettes were the instructional audio that you could get. Just don't have the practice and time of most turkey hunters. I took a hiatus from hunting for a lot of years. To freshen up I didn't need to buy any CD, YouTube was most helpful, and I could see the hand position. I am confident in my calling. I do appreciate the tips though Bowguy 1.
  5. Pork spare ribs. A little time in the oven and finished on the grill. I think I did at least 7 layers of sauce. Mac salad and asparagus.
  6. Nothing wrong with your bird zeus. Don't let anyone's BS get in your head. Did you breast it, pluck, or skin it?
  7. So the list grows.... The Islamic Sate wants us dead. North Korea wants to nuke us. Russia keeps doing flyby's over our ships that are not authorized. Now Mexico is on our 6. I am not moving to Canada, but right about now bum ****** nowhere in Montana, Nebraska, or Utah is sounding good.
  8. I thought pig until I really looked. Black nose and ear tips. Fur not skin.
  9. My first bow I didn't know I had to my field tip weight and my broadhead weight. My ft's were 125gr and the broadheads I bought were 100gr. First arrow was about 4-6 ft high with those broadheads. Scratched my head, went inside and called the local shop. We all get a flier now and again. If I get two in a row, I stop and start looking at the bow and the arrows to see what's wrong.
  10. Just placed my order. As usual, I didn't just buy the one item I was looking for. LOL Ordered the mags and rear and front basic AR style sights. Said it will be here next Monday. Average shipping time.
  11. Congrats on your first turkey zeus.
  12. Wow. Two days and nothing. Giving it another half hour and then calling it a bust for the day.
  13. That's just a stupid way to handle it! I hope you were being facetious. Even if you shoot away from them you never know who else in the woods. NOTE TO ALL! NEVER DO THIS!
  14. I would never call for anyone. I am not that good. LOL. Of the three birds I have killed, one was when I was 14 and I wasn't calling, the other two I was calling for myself and feel I just got lucky. I think about different scenarios at times, and wonder what other hunters would do or have done in that situation. Sometimes I ask, and other times I just keep the question to myself. Been some good info and interesting replies to this thread.
  15. I could see three people if you were going to be at least a mile apart, but it just seems like the turkey would be a little mixed up on all the calling.
  16. This is part of public land hunting. Anyone who has hunted public land enough will have seen more stupid hunters and ignorant things then most hunting private land. More so in very high pressure/popular areas.
  17. No all would go sit on their own. This was hypothetical question. Just something I have thought about a few times.
  18. Example: You have a group of say three friends/hunters in your group. You all plan on actually hunting the area at the same time. How to you decide who calls and who doesn't? Or do you all call?
  19. Great read and that's exactly what it should be. But, no one can deny the fact that there are people out there who are just hunting for the mount, and those people make it hard on the rest of us.
  20. I would look into Thatcher Park. You have to get a parking permit though. http://nysparks.com/parks/128/ There are other state lands in that area as well, just look at the DEC site.
  21. Nice bird there. Congrats.
  22. Congrats on the bird. Cool pics as well.
  23. No fields for me. Woods and a few clearings. Finally got my phone to let me log in here without using Tapatalk.
