If the Bills' only win this season was against KC I would be a happy guy. Who won their last meeting again? They have met 48 times with Buffalo at 26 wins and KC at 21, and one tie.

Does your reputation precede you? All you WNY boys who head down to the city to hang with those boys who snort their 'cold and sinus medicine' and all.
-
I licked as clean as I could get it.

To actually add context on my part to the thread, my arrow weight with inserts, vanes, nock, and tip/bh are 388.3gr. Used the wife's baking scale a while back to check.

WOW! That's not very mature in itself to post a PM to the pubic. It should have been enough to just state your beef, not blast that out in public. Seriously dick move!
-
I was planning on it this year. Then I got a nasty boo-boo on my trigger finger so I'll miss this and the SZ bow opener. This cold snap has them moving a little more then usual here around home, so up north I'd bet they will be moving more. Good luck if you head up next weekend.

Studying For Alost A Yaer, Still Going In Cold
DirtTime replied to DirtTime's topic in Big Woods Hunting
Can't believe this years trip is only a month out. Looking forward to it as I have at least gotten to see the lay of the land in a few areas. I know it's a year later and things change, but last year was blind, and this year at least I know where to start. -
Maybe they would if you posted more about hunting then political bullshit 95% of the time. Just sayin'.

WTF! Who's breeding all these political trolls? Is there a shortage of bridges or something? Did the C19 evolve into some screwed up virus affecting the drinking water? Too many people with too much time on their hands making more useless accounts just to get attention and ruffle feathers? Man, they seem to be crawling out of the drains like cockroaches. I'll just leave this link here for the OP and move along: https://huntingny.com/forums/forum/4-new-york-hunting/

I started using Herman's during the Spring turkey season, 400grams Thinsulate. They were pretty comfortable for hiking from one place to call to the next. I also have a pair of 800gram for the colder temps this fall. Prices range from around $60 - $200.

I can no longer be involved in that type of thing. If things at The Academy are getting that far out of hand I suggest you practice more. Drop me a PM on how you want to handle the slugs though.
-
If they are rifled slugs I may be interested. I have 4 boxes of Vitol Shocks left I'm using in the 301, that shotgun loves those things. Let me know what you want for them and I can check what funds I have left. Thank you on both accounts. 6 months here, I didn't have a choice If I wanted to still be walking the Earth. The only time I miss a cold beer is around the camp fire. But I'm getting used to it.

Happy birthday doebuck1234 and blackbeltbill
DirtTime replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in General Chit Chat
Happy Birthday @doebuck1234. -
I had been thinking of trading in my semi 12GA for a pump recently. I decided to keep it and see what I could do to pick up a pump. I took what I had saved up, and seeing I don't/can't drink anymore, I had enough in the budget to buy a new Stevens/Savage 320 in 20GA. Came with a MOD. Choke. Because it uses the base Winchester tube system, I can use the X-Tra full turkey choke that came with my 301, and the cylinder I picked up for that as well. Wood lumber would have been nice, but I like the looks of this shotgun and it shoulders well and swings fast.

It shoots fine. It doesn't like low brass much though, it will jam up on me at times using that. I just buy high brass and have no issues.
-
I believe it's the 120. Same shop also has a 1200 for a bit more. I'm keeping my Raptor. Wife and I talked and I'm, just gonna hold off on a pump for a little while.
-
I remember seeing those Oneida bows in shops and a guy I knew hunted with one and loved it. They always worried me with the way the limbs were set up, sort of like when split limb bows came out.

Recently a Winchester Ranger caught my eye for a good price. If I make the decision that's my plan. If not, probably a used Mossy 500, local place has one for about $30 more then the Winny. Thank you grampy. This is still in the planning and thinking stages. I wrote above what I'm trying to locate. I will keep you and the Savage in mind brother. My wife thinks I'm nuts as well for even thinking about this. She hasn't said so out loud, but after 11 years I know the looks.

I appreciate that, I really do. This isn't so much as a need/desire as much as it is a "Hmmm" thing. This isn't for deer season though. This is just a thought that's in my head. Been rattling in there for some time now. I think it started longer then a year ago, showing my wife how to load my current aoto-loader as I was going to be away on a trip not long after buying the 12. "You have to make sure this button is in this position, make sure you push that, don't forget this little switch by the trigger". But it's just really been on my mind a lot about something easier for her to load if she needed it, and something a bit more then my single shot. Speaking of the single shot, that's set up now for deer, the red dot scope I put on it works fine and it stays pretty tight with rifled slugs out to about 80 yards, after that the groups seem to open up which is normal for that set up. Two areas that are still shogun only around here, so that's one of the reasons I bought the Savage/Stevens 20. Well, that and I have wanted a single shot 20 for a long long time so when I could I bought one. I have no idea where I'll end up on this one. I was thinking so I figured I type it out loud.

I think they may have a small recollection of where danger was/is. I think it's pretty fleeting though. If they remembered everything it sure would be hard to fill a tag. For the most part deer are creatures of habit. If they weren't you wouldn't see game trails from them. I have said, as skittish as deer can be, they also seem to have a curious nature as well. I have read on here and heard many tales of a hunter shooting a deer while field dressing the one they shot 10 minutes ago. If deer remember, I can't see that happening as often as it seems to.

Funds. Right now I have around $75 so trading may get me what I'm looking for. Constant home repairs keep credit cards out of the picture and saving all but non existent. I honestly don't mean this to some off as snarky, but it's sometimes forgotten that not everyone on this forum has a bunch of expandable money on hand all the time. I can't just go out and drop a couple hundred bucks at the drop of a hat. If I go forward for this one, the new shotgun will be used for the same thing the one I have now is used for, small game and turkey hunting. There's also a bit of looking at home defense running in my head as well, a pump is a hell of a lot easier and faster to load them my semi.
-
For about a year now I have been giving serious thought to trading my semi-auto shotgun for a pump. I love my Raptor, and even with 3" shells I can shoot it all day and my shoulder would never know it. I guess the older I get, the more I want to lean back to some things of a more traditional nature. A nice pump 12 with a wood stock has been running through my head. I also cannot get other barrels for my Raptor, so that's starting to seep into my head as well. Am I nuts for thinking about trading in the low recoil 12 for a shoulder thumper?

Those are all but the same round. The differences are not enough to really make a difference here in NYS on deer or bear. It's like comparing an orange to a peeled orange. But, If I was only looking at those two, the .308. I was looking at rifles the other day when my wife and I stopped so I could grab a couple more boxes of slugs, it crossed my mind on what I would choose if I bought another big game rifle. Two calibers came into my head instantly, the .270 and the 7MM. Rem Mag. I would take a .270 over an /06- just about the same stats with the .270 coming in just a wee bit flatter shooting. The 7MM Mag? Great round and just because.

Crossbow. No need to have proper form or bend at the waist. To answer the question- I would put the cross hairs on the hair you aim to hit and pull the trigger.
