I thought this was some great traditional bow shooting, so I'm sharing the video. This guy can shoot that's for sure.
-
Awesome buck! Hope he walks in front of you this season.

The Gobble Stopper got here this morning. Mounted it up and ready to put some ammo down range in a week or two and get things dialed in. It's bigger then I thought, but that's fine. I can access the hammer and break lever easily. It's not too heavy and the shotgun still swings and handles well.

I have a YouTube channel, I sure can't afford to pay a stand in. It would be nice to hire some actor to play be, but alas, it's just me. It's amazing what you find on this site when you step outside of the political areas, take off the tin foil hat, and realize this is a hunting and outdoors oriented site. Not the back room of a radical right conspiracy theorists group. Most of the comic book heroes wear a mask, so there's that. A lot of those Antifa and BLM characters wear masks too, so there's that as well. Carry on cowboy, High Ho Silver Away!

Na, not everyone out in the sticks feels a need to hide their face. I would think you would be posting selfies left and right with having to wear a mask. All those "affiliations" you have that make you fear showing your face should be gone and you are free to post you actually being out of the house besides sitting in your car. Wasn't there another masked stalker here not long ago?............. Look how that ended...More fake accounts then Hillary has excuses for loosing the election.

Yes. Turtle soup is great if made right. Never shelled one myself but watched many do it, looks like a PITA.
-
Is that Stormy second from the right? That's the only one from this site I could see showing up wearing that outfit. Holy jerky man!

I had feelers out here and a couple other places. I got a good deal on a Gobbler Stopper. I sent a PM to Nomad and if he still wants to get rid of the Nikon in a few weeks I'll take it for my Axis.
-
PM being sent @Nomad .
-
@Nomad , what are the odds the rings will fit a picatinny rail? I plan to put this on a Savage 301 20GA Turkey Obsession. That's a great deal, let me check the bank account and with the wife on this one.

I need to put a scope on my newest shotgun, and I would like to stay around the $50-$75 price point. Everything I come across is either way over that or reviews say the scope fails after a few shots. At first I was leaning towards a red dot, but now I think an actual reticle might be a better option for both turkey and deer without taking the scope off after the Fall to use for turkey in the Spring. Do the masses have any assistance?

I had no idea you were a horse. I would like to get down there one day. Everyone I know who's been tells me it's a great place too see. Maybe I can talk the wife into the trip next year.

NYS Crossbow hunting & season wrong from day one
DirtTime replied to bbG's topic in CrossBow Hunting
I've been known to spout off like a volcano. Then I learned to shut up and scroll on by over the past year or so. As for this "debate" with crossbows? I gave up on that as well. Life's too damn short to spend the day arguing about it seeing I do not have a dog in the fight. Actually, even if I did have a mutt to put up, I still don't have time to piss in the wind and wonder why my shoes are wet. -
NYS Crossbow hunting & season wrong from day one
DirtTime replied to bbG's topic in CrossBow Hunting
Same shit different day around here I see. I'm going to petition that the only hunting implement allowed at all any more is a blow gun. There, you want a challenge, you have one. Just don't inhale. -
Wrong war, wrong holiday. 4th was the Revolutionary War. Battle for independence. 1776.
-
Very sorry to hear that Dave. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

Utica Cutlery Survival Knife
DirtTime replied to airedale's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Nice blade. Congrats. USA made is easy to find, a lot of people/companies sell USA made knives. Some right here in NYS. Just have to look. But, you will pay for the blade as they aren't cheap. My Prodigy was made in Oregon and it's one tough knife. NYS maker example: http://www.dennhandmade.com/ Link to the seller page for that UTK S4: https://www.ebay.com/itm/UTK-S4-Survival-Knife-Build-your-own-Free-Personalization-/202639211622 Link to the same knife with a black finish: https://www.amazon.com/Kutmaster-Knives-11-UTKS4-Fixed-Sheath/dp/B072HGR98F Been looking at Becker lately, Maybe the BK-10 Crewman or the Drop Point Short, both are beasts. -
OH, it was on Face Book...It must be true. Pisses me off when people post flat out lies about shit like this. I don't raise an eyebrow to this crap anymore, unless I hear or read about factual information, but some people will panic as though the local coffee shop stopped allowing free wi-fi. Hysteria clouds judgement. Whoever posted it originally is a liar, but things like this should not be passed along without fact checking. Never happened. Like I said, I live in the area and news like that would be passed on, especially when I have neighbors that work there. Law enforcement put extra patrols there after reading it might be a target due to the location, along with a few more areas like the Price Chopper, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Hannaford plazas.
-
You have a link for this news? I just looked and found nothing about that. I live less then 30 minutes from there and heard nothing of the sort. I'll go ask the neighbors if they heard anything about it, but pretty sure if they had they would be walking around with long guns at the ready.

Corona Virus Thread
DirtTime replied to Al Bundy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Been reading this thread for a few days now. It kind of bothers me that people are dying and it's being made light of in this thread. Innocent people dying should never be a joking matter. Sorry, it just shouldn't! This should be taken a little more serious. Milan, Italy, is all but shut down. That's Europe folks, and no where near any Asian cities. This isn't fake news. Some news "groups" are under-mining the threat, others are pushing for a premature pandemic. In the middle is the truth, and I think this is an issue, and if you have paid attention, I don't wear a tin foil hat. I do see this as a possible issue, especially here in NY where our King lets anyone in no matter what. My wife, who once scoffed at me when we lived in Schenectady while a tornado was strolling down the Mohawk and the trees in our yard were bent over almost to the ground by telling me, "Its just a little wind and laughing", stopped last night and bought a bunch of provisions to last a few weeks. Yep, I just opened myself up to ridicule, not the first time, and might not be the last. -
So much for the "Leave No Trace" way of things. I remember watching something on the news years ago about a few places down south that kids do this, some odd right of passage thing.
-
Guessing all you folks who have traveled down south never tried "Lamb Fries"?
-
I tried not too, but that did make me laugh.
-
Here's a thought, there's a lot of public land out there that you can roam around on 24 hours a day for free. Go to those places. You want to moan about a cost? Try going car camping in a place that does not allow you bring in wood, so you have to buy it there. Then they go from giving you enough wood to last a couple days for for $5, to small bundles of wood ( 7-8 pieces ) that won't last more then one night and charging $4. That put the pucker in my backside more then NYS opening parks for after hours star gazing and making you get a permit ever would.
