Power outage from northeaster 24 hours no power no heat
grampy replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
What a mess down there Biz! Hopefully sooner than later for ya to get the power back on. Sending good thoughts. -
Last nights show was pretty good I thought. Tied up a few things. And the garbage people walkers, making chili dip was insane!

Atta boy, little fishing buddy, Joel! Moog, you are likely one of the most powerful guys I've ever met. Some big and powerful guys have, "the attitude". The "I will crush you" look, if ya know what I mean? That is the farthest from the truth with you, my friend! After some medical stuff last year I need to get in better shape. So I've started doing some light weight training with my grandson. What is a good workout for the belly, and bad shoulders? My grandson is a HUGE kid for his age, and thankfully has the same "attitude" as you. Sorry to thread crash...........

You are so right! Back and shoulders are still sore! Sure wish I lived closer to moog!!!

Ya know, if Andy liked YOU, as much as you like HIM, ya would have had the power on yesterday. -

Ice season is done for me. Waiting for open water now. -
Yeah, we got hammered in parts of 4-H. Up to now, winter hasn't been too bad. So hopefully the deer will make it through just fine.

Biz is tough! He's a ground hunter that doesn't hunt from trees! He will be fine! Could probably go another few days without a wimper! -

The wind kicked up this morning, and still gusting pretty good here. Lights have flickered a few times, but still on. -
The one that stands out the most for me, is the first tom I ever called in. My buddy shot him, but I called him from a couple hunded yards, to about 15 feet.

Nothing beats quality family time! And making memories to last a lifetime. Awesome!

$$$.....dang! I'll just stick to making close shots, and watching them drop within sight. -

Haven't needed anyone to wipe my butt, since I was a child. Having grown up in the 'country', with not much money, we learned to be self sufficient. There have been quite a few times, where we lost power for a week or more over the years. We made it through just fine. Never depend on anyone or anything. Learn from past experiences, and be better prepared for next time. -
The reviews for the most part are good. Never seen one of these before, but would think in your area, with the heavy wet snow, any hub style blind would still be toast. Even with this pole. Most all our blinds are "natural", or made from stuff lying on the ground nearby. And once built will last for years, with just a little brush in, upkeep each year. All are built to shoulder height when sitting, and some even have a slanted over head cover for inclimate weather. That being said, we do also have some hub style blinds. And we are in an area that will most always get snow before the end of the season. Here is what we do, and it works great! Cut a gallon milk jug in half. Keep the bottom half. Set up blind, and cut three straight 'poles' to length from nearby, to make a tripod inside the blind. Using the cut out milk jug on the top, inside roof to support it and hold the poles together. Run the poles along inside of the blind, spaced to miss your shooting window. Holds up the blind in snow and wind very well! You need not carry anything but a small hand saw, and half a milk jug!

Really glad that missed you! That, would have definitely left a mark.

Yes. Town of Knox. Just above Thatcher Park.

For only the 2nd time in 14 years our district office is closed, and I don't need to go in. Could get 30"+ in the hilltowns. Widespread power outages already happening, with multiple trees down. Picture at 6:45 this morning, just down from the farm property. And the worst is yet to come. Spring has not sprung yet here.

Welcome! How was your season last year in PA?
-
That is icing on the cake buddy! Those big Cal bucks will be packing on more weight and inches!!! We are working on a deal to have a local guy come in and do 20 to 30 acres of corn on our property this year too.

Perfect! Great story. No one cares for, and respects wildlife more, than true sportsmen.
