  1. A Deer Search dog and handler are not trained to look for humans, alive or otherwise. That is up to specially trained dogs, and people in law enforcement, or other agencies. As you know, our property borders Thatcher Park. My hunting partner and I, have more than one hundred years combined, of boots on the ground, throughout the park, as well as our property. And know it all like the walls of our homes. My partner and I offered our help, but were denied. Before the snow got deep, we did search our property, in places where we thought the hiker could have ended up. But nothing. I will say, the search that went on in the park, for ten days or so was very extensive and thorough. Perhaps there is more to it than law enforcement is letting out? My hope is he will be found at some point. TF is going through a tough time. We should just leave it at that.
  2. Is it because she's dressed for summer on a winter day???
  3. Great buck, and you do beautiful work! Is that a NYS deer?
  4. Couple bow seasons ago, I took a spill and had a compression fracture in my lower spine. Although the fracture did heal on its own, my back hasn't been the same since. Seems to "go out" more often now. I do bend and stretches every morning before work, and throughout the day when I can. Exercise does help, especially as we get older, to help keep things in check. One thing for sure, back pain can put you down, like not much else can!
  5. Nice shooting! Great deer thumper ya got there!
  6. Alternate, ice, heat and take Aleve, to reduce inflammation and pain! If not better in a couple days, go see what the Doc says. Hope ya feel better soon my friend.
  7. Nice picture! Still lots of snow in our corner of 4H too. Looking forward to seeing some melting over the next couple weeks!
  8. Congratulations! Nissan makes a great truck. My 06 frontier has almost 170k on her and still runs great. I'm sure yours will serve you well too!
  9. The area in the background, just screams DEER! One of our best spots on the farm, looks very similar. Just think of the memories you will have, each time you look at the mount of the first BIG buck killed from this spot! Knowing how the stand, came to be. Making memories with your kids, is what it's all about! Good stuff here. How cool would it be to have one or both kids, take their first deer at this spot!!! What did you use for the ladder and hand rail? That looks pretty slick.
  10. Happy Birthday! Wishing you all the good stuff today buddy! See ya at Saratoga Lake thus summer!
  11. Wonderful way to spend a day with the kids! Platform looks great, nice job! The truck will come clean..........eventually. Cool little hunting buddies ya got there! That's pricless.

  14. What a great day to not be at work! Looks like you guys had a nice time! World class taxidermy! And a world class burger too! We love Red Robin! So what did you take home from Cabela's?
  15. Good luck buddy! This has been a crazy year for the brackets! A few of the picks I had, to be in the Elite 8, have been long gone!
  16. So cool looking! Love the dark coloration, and black engraving. As always, great work my friend!
  17. Wonder if anyone here is still alive, with eight teams left?
  18. I still have 3 of the elite 8, alive in my bracket. Going with Villanova to take it all? We'll see.
  19. God bless her! What an inspiration!
  20. I renounced my membership to NYB many years ago. I didn't like being told who the enemy was, (anyone who didn't hunt strictly with a bow) . I got the feeling some of the members there were more anti, than the anti's! JMO.

    New Hunter

Couple years ago, I sat through the firearms and bow classes with my grandson. There was a good mix of ages, and even some females too. I was really glad I went. All the reminders of safety, got me thinking, a refresher sure wasn't a waste of time. Welcome, and glad to have you with us! Good luck with all your future hunting adventures! Pull up a seat, and join right in anytime!
  22. Thanks for the belly laugh, this morning wooly!!
  23. Really hope you feel better soon Rob. Pain like that is terrible.
