The reviews for the most part are good. Never seen one of these before, but would think in your area, with the heavy wet snow, any hub style blind would still be toast. Even with this pole. Most all our blinds are "natural", or made from stuff lying on the ground nearby. And once built will last for years, with just a little brush in, upkeep each year. All are built to shoulder height when sitting, and some even have a slanted over head cover for inclimate weather. That being said, we do also have some hub style blinds. And we are in an area that will most always get snow before the end of the season. Here is what we do, and it works great! Cut a gallon milk jug in half. Keep the bottom half. Set up blind, and cut three straight 'poles' to length from nearby, to make a tripod inside the blind. Using the cut out milk jug on the top, inside roof to support it and hold the poles together. Run the poles along inside of the blind, spaced to miss your shooting window. Holds up the blind in snow and wind very well! You need not carry anything but a small hand saw, and half a milk jug!

Really glad that missed you! That, would have definitely left a mark.

Yes. Town of Knox. Just above Thatcher Park.

For only the 2nd time in 14 years our district office is closed, and I don't need to go in. Could get 30"+ in the hilltowns. Widespread power outages already happening, with multiple trees down. Picture at 6:45 this morning, just down from the farm property. And the worst is yet to come. Spring has not sprung yet here.

Welcome! How was your season last year in PA?
-
That is icing on the cake buddy! Those big Cal bucks will be packing on more weight and inches!!! We are working on a deal to have a local guy come in and do 20 to 30 acres of corn on our property this year too.

Perfect! Great story. No one cares for, and respects wildlife more, than true sportsmen.

For a sporting goods chain, that is in business to support "sportsmen," I see absolutely no reason to support them anymore. If they want to jump on the fear mongering bandwagon, so be it. But I will not support their stand or their business ever again! Fortunately, we have in this area, many smaller retailers, where I can pick up hunting and fishing items, including an AR if I want. And perhaps will in the near future for predator hunting. I've been transitioning my support to these shops anyways. I'll pay a little more for the better service, knowledge and experience, I receive there. And except for firearms, I have never had a problem ordering through BPS.

What a cool idea! I've never seen a desk like that. Can't wait to see it finished!

Nice! Way to go! And what fun too! Haven't done this in years. Need to get out again and do some crow hunting again soon! Maybe take a couple young guns with me to get them in on it too.

Happy Birthday! Hope everything that comes your way today is special!

Anything is possible with these two! Don't leave us hanging too long!

Could be. Her and a bunch of her friends, crawl out from under rocks all the time.

Exactly. Where does it end? That's the question, you would think more should be asking.

That's just it. Do we REALLY need a law passed, to govern every little detail of our lives??? Or more laws passed to protect us from ourselves??? It sure does seem that way sometimes.

Huge props to Dad! That's so cool!

Just another way for them to tell us all to get in line. After all they know whats best for us......right?

Hard to believe that places will accept an older, half deaf, balding, parts breaking down, gimpy, grampy. But they did! Not sure how much longer I can keep this charade up that I'm worthy, so all you fella's here keep quiet. ..........grin.

At the Woodlawn Sportsmens Club! Been waiting for almost two years to become a member! I first went there with my grandson, for his NYS, archery, and then firearms, safety courses. They really did a terrific job giving the courses, and put so much into it. As each instructor was very good, and my grandson loved it there! I was then invited back to do a Deer Search seminar for them. And the turn out was great! Met some really good guy's that were members, who graciously offered to sponsor me. They have a nice 3-D archery range, as well as elevated shooting platforms. Along with an indoor and outdoor firearms range along with a trap range. And so much more, on a beatiful property. I'm looking forward to meeting, and sharing with new friends, and possibly becoming a NYS certified safety instructor. I think my grandson is more excited than I am, as he really likes to shoot, and it's much closer than our farm property. So with his busy sports schedule, we can just zip over there, most any time. Most importantly, is that this is an organization, that publicly promotes the safe use of firearms. And in this day, every bit we can do as individuals, helps us all.

The battle,over gun rights
grampy replied to Nomad's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
There is truth in your words Rob. But I cannot and will not concede defeat. And will continue fighting for my grandsons generation, to have the right to bare arms. As the US constitution intended. I will also continue to do all within my means to support the NRA, and all like minded people and politicians. Along with showing and educating anyone willing to listen, what Iaw abiding gun ownership is all about. Only time will tell. But if we lay down for this, whats next? Does anyone truly believe, that more gun regulations will stop a criminal, or mentality diminished coward, from obtaining a firearm and doing harm to the unarmed? Has it worked in NY? Or Chicago, LA, or anywhere with strict gun laws? No it hasn't.
