  1. 5) The tension pulley bracket is moving when the lever is engaged and disengaged?
  2. I make no apologies, for being proud of how I hunt and the deer I've killed. I don't shoot yearling bucks, because I've shot a bunch of them, and find no challenge in shooting them anymore. I hunt for my own enjoyment, not to impress anyone, or boost my ego. I'm truly happy to hear of ANY hunter killing ANY deer! And will always give a heartfelt congratulations. But I enjoy putting all the years of learning the way of the whitetail, and refining my hunting and woodsmanship skills, to be able to shoot what make ME happy. Hunting is not, or should it be, an everyone gets a trophy activity. Shoot what you like. Like what you shoot.
  3. I have the 111. Try cleaning and lube with Tri-Flow the tensoin pulley and bracket. It is attatached to the rod that is connected to the engage lever. Had a similar problem with mine last year, and thats what I did to fix it. Tried a few other things first. But that was what fixed the problem. Good luck!
  4. If someone finds a big gold nugget, and someone else finds a diamond. Who is the better rock collector? And does it really matter?
  5. Not for the bad guy that was on the receiving end. His luck ran out!
  6. I really don't think about the psychology of why I may shoot a certain buck. I just head into the woods, and if I'm lucky enough, a three year old or older buck will show himself. I choose to pass on year old bucks. But every hunters choice should be their own. I try not to over think hunting and keep it as simple as possible. If a deer I like ambles to me, I'll make my best effort to kill it as quickly as possible. Simple. No psychology involved for me.
  7. They look very similar to mine! Got plans to head up to Saratoga Lake on Wednesday though. Hoping to join the fun. Might even catch one or two!
  8. I bet he does finish out nice. He's already got tons of character. Very nice buck!
  9. Wow! Thanks for sharing! I'm sure you learned a bunch during those days! Sorry I hyjacked your thread grow.
  10. Pretty cool. Whats the biggest buck you saw while guiding in Pike County? Just curious.
  11. That is pretty cool looking. Any idea what it is?
  12. Good glass, is just as important for fishing, as it is for hunting! Perfect selection of stuff to put some bronze backs in the boat!
  13. C'mon, jump in the mosh pit!..........smile.
  14. I know a guy that knows a guy. Probably have 50 or more scattered around.
  15. From one "grampy" to another, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! She is beautiful! Glad all are doing well. Grandkids really are Gods special gift. And it sorta renews the contract for us older folks! Spoil her at will!
  16. Is it good eating? If it is I'll take it!
  17. The perfect accessories for the archer princess! Meaning Natalie, not moog............smile.
  18. Would like to add. From the pic's, what a beautiful looking property!
  19. So nice! That is a true NY trophy right there! Hope he sticks around and you get a crack at him this fall!
  20. I have a thing for old barns, love em! They were made to last, with craftsmanship that is hard to find today. Your barn is a beauty for sure! Glad that the rehab is coming along fine. And the Amish guys do some top notch work! Please post some pic's when done.
  21. I think my wife has a spy cam. She always knows what I've been up to when she gets home!
  22. I agree with you 100%! I too have seen and heard about, more than a couple guys using crossbows starting Oct.1st last year. And planning to do the same this year. So to them it doesn't mean a rats patootie if full inclusion passed or not. To each their own I guess.
  23. Ya know, I have my own properties, and I may not get caught. But I won't take the chance. I try to set a good example to my grandsons and other young hunters I mentor. And in no way am I, or have I been, perfect in my hunting career. I have openly admitted that fact here and in my personal life. But I just could not use a crossbow out of season, even if it means no hunting for me. It's been about seven weeks since my shoulder surgery, and at this point I see a 50 - 50 chance of being able to use my bow. If not, I will still be in the woods, as a mentor or to just shoot pictures instead of an arrow. It is what it is. But any deer I would kill illegally, would mean nothing to me. Just how I'm wired.
