  1. Niagara county certainly has some monsters I wouldn't doubt it.
  2. I'll try some 2 shot and see I also picked up a new choke tube today
  3. Usually don't weigh in on these topics but I've read the Bible many times over and wouldn't take that shot. To me it's not about having faith guide a very ill advised shot to make a kill. Making a clean textbook kill is the only option. I could "probably" have killed a pile of deer with shots to the ass and other spots but wouldn't. Still though congrats on the harvest. Not all hunters are the same glad you recovered and it worked out.
  4. Wow some crazy stuff in this thread lol. I wear orange because my dad always has and told me I had to when I started hunting. Seems pretty dumb not to have on any orange when you can still kill deer just as easily (as easy as with no orange) and it will make you stand out to other hunters. Who cares if it's private land? I only hunt private and wear it all the time.
  5. As unlikely as it is that last pic looks very very similar to a buck I had a run in with this season during bow. Known as the relese episode. Lol
  6. Lol me too that's why I'm trying to change I've been shooting 4 shot. Now I'm starting to hunt the river more so shots are a little farther sometimes than I was used to.
  7. What choke do you guys use with steel shot for ducks? I've been using modified and that's the only one I have. Would any other shoot better for duck?
  8. Thanks kinda what I was thinking, my buddy shot one and told me it was 85 pounds seemed high to me it looked tiny not that I really have a problem since he had a tag but just wondering.
  9. For those of you who have shot them or have some info, what do you figure the average dressed weight of a fawn is say opening weekend of gun. Average or your experiences I know it'll vary place to place but looking for An idea. Thanks
  10. Hunted ducks before work. Lots of birds flying done with deer til late season good luck all
  11. That sure does suck it's happened to my dad a handful of times and my dad and I once. He finally was able to get his own spot and now I'm working hard to help him out with the money side of it and of course the work at the property. Good luck with the next spot you have!
  12. Awesome! I've been considering it myself.
  13. Glad he'll be used and not wasted. Sad but the best ending possible.
  14. Don't know If I saw this post from you before or I found it another place online but I made this a few weeks back. Delicious
  15. Exactly how I felt this year glad to see him connect last week of bow. Good luck to you and your father today! It's coming
  16. I see your still posting obvious statements in strange fonts. Lol but your right
  17. Don't know ask the original person who said it. If it's up to me keep it how it is let people shoot what they want It's hunting not trophy hunting.
  18. I'm commonly one of them. No doubt tightening some of the regulations would help. I would have no problem with having to register each deer at a check station.
  19. Not a lot of hunters shoot 2 bucks in a season at all. Very low percentage.
  20. Very interested in a 9t tag. I know they are hard to come by. I have a 9m that I'd trade and will continue to hunt with until it's maybe filled but I'd like to get back to camp in 9t before muzzleloader.
  21. Makes sense. This bow season I passed on 17 1.5 year old(clearly) bucks. As I had hoped to get one of my target bucks. I didn't, and would have loved to fill my tag with the young buck the last week but hadn't no opportunity. Come muzzleloader season I will likely shoot one given the chance. We see tons of young bucks. Im no deer biologist but i see lots of young bucks year after year and that's with our group shooting some.
  22. Got two and had a ten dollar coupon so paid ten and change for the two. Thanks!
