  1. Sounds like a buck pushing does for the last 15 minutes. Out in a nasty swamp, breaking limbs and splashing through water Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  2. Beautiful morning. Feels like deer season at 35° Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  3. I made a 3 piece fold up camera arm that mounts and stays on my climber. I used aluminum tubing, so it's super light and height adjustable. It folds back up flat and doesn't interfere with anything. I wouldn't bring my camcorder with me most times because it was another awkward piece to drag along and setup. Now I always have it. Simple and cheap. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  4. First off, I think you need to get off of your pedestal. Secondly, yes I used to very much into rifles. I still currently own a lot of rifles and I do not own a rifle that won't shoot close to an inch or better, I never said 2" is a great group, I said any rifle that will shoot 2" or better will be suitable for our typical shots here in NY which probably are less than 75 yds in most cases. You're confusing bench rest accuracy with hunting accuracy. You bow hunt don't you? So is it safe to assume you only shoot 2" or less groups with your bow? No, you don't. You ARE the guy that talks down to everyone that doesn't agree with your skewed mindset. You are a fanboy. Everything you don't own sucks. Period. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  5. You don't need to spend $1000 to get a decent quality rifle, if you don't care about looks or puffing your chest at the range then there are quite a few $300-500 rifles that will do the trick. As mentioned before, if you like the features, weight, feel of the rifle then do some reviews and see what people have liked/disliked. The Americans, Axis, T/C's, are all decent guns. They will shoot under 2MOA in most instances which is suitable for NY whitetail hunting. The only one I would dare say do not buy is the cheapo Remington line. I worked as a firearms supervisor for several years and A LOT of the 783, 710, 770 came back for repairs. You'll quickly learn some people will only say what they have is the best and everything else sucks... Do a little research, buy what you can afford and upgrade down the road if you need or want to... I've owned around 40 rifles and have only ever "hated" a few and that was only because they would shoot pattern's not groups. Deer are not hard to kill, you don't need to shoot sub moa, you don't need a $1300 rifle with a fluted barrel and Jewel trigger. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  6. I typically shoot fixed heads (Ramcats) but with my new setup the blades came way too close to the riser at full draw for my comfort so I have 2 Rage Hypodermics and I bought some Spitfire Maxx's for this year, I'm shooting heavy arrows so I'm comfortable using big cuts. So far this season I've shot a coyote and a doe with the spitfire's and I am impressed. Both pass throughs and giant exit holes. Entrance holes are 1", exits are 5"... I went with Spitfire's because they've been around like 20 years, relatively unchanged, and I've never seen better reviews on a head (very few negative). Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  7. Not legal to shoot, only to trap in certain areas. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  8. I too have a Liberty 35 gun. I like it, I put the pistol door organizer in it which helps a ton. It holds like 10 small frame pistols and I think I have like 24 long guns in there but it's like playing jenga getting them out. Wasn't fun going up stairs either at 700lbs... 9. I do agree bullets arc. I don't agree with your speed theory. The faster your projectile is traveling the less your max ord will be (highest point in bullets trajectory above the horizontal plane) The faster the projectile equals less exaggerated ARC. With an optic and an understanding of your bullets highest trajectory point from line of sight you will be better suited to identifying something that could obstruct your bullets path and avoiding it. 10. I don't think you're the person to be giving ballistics lessons. Bullets cross your line of sight twice, they ARC. Honestly I'm not even quite sure what point you're arguing? But this clearly isn't your niche so you should probably let it be or take the opportunity to learn from a knowledgeable member... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  11. It is far too quiet and still for my liking... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  12. That's a good price if they shoot well. I typically won't buy arrows that are greater than .003 but that's just my OCD. I used to only buy the gold tip velocity Pro's which are .001 but at $150/dozen they add up quick... Thanks for the info. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  13. What is the tolerance and straightness on those arrows? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  14. I've always thought we should be able to carry a sidearm while bow hunting. Certain restrictions obviously, barrel 3" or less or something. 380ACP or less? I agree with fight with what you got but I'm not sure throwing one into a rear necked choke would be as effective as you might think...the dark woods can be unnerving but there's nothing there at night that isn't there during the day... 15. First sit of the year in my 7M spot. Cool morning. Was up late quartering the doe from last night and packing her in the yeti on ice. I have room for another in there... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  16. Shot was 8yds, she went 40. Spitfire Maxx left a 5" hole out her armpit. Cut the heart in half. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  17. Ran 40yds. Heart shot with spitfire Maxx broadheads, blood trail was incredible. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  18. Just shot a doe. 8 yds Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  19. The classic vipers are steel and a fair amount heavier.. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  20. Probably the second estrous cycle in January but who knows. That is a little fella! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  21. So this is what hunting in Georgia feels like... Should've brought sunscreen and a beach towel. Oh well, can't kill them from the couch. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  22. I have 2 summit vipers and they are my favorite by far. There are a few that are lighter but you will sacrifice comfort. Get the padded backpack straps and the foot stirrups and you'll be golden. If you do get a climber make sure it's an aluminum one, steel is really heavy. There is a slight learning curve to using them but once you get a routine down you will love it. I can unpack/pack and climb with mine about as silent as anything. I'll do 6-10 ALL day sits (never come down) a year and I'm never uncomfortable. I don't think you can beat a summit viper in any price range. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  23. Beautiful morning, only thing missing is deer. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  24. That deer was definitely on meth... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
