  1. My comments were aimed at anyone who portrayed people who don't actively support something although they may not agree as the enemy. That is sheer ignorance. If you want to follow that logic you're no better than a cow following the next cow in line with no idea where you're heading. I'm a human and have the gift of higher reasoning so I choose to use it. I don't have to follow any group or club or ideology fully, as I can step out at anytime and refute something although I stand behind the main cause. I never said I'm against contests or even hunting contests. I just think that we as hunters sometimes shoot ourselves in the foot when it comes to public perception. Killing is bloody and graphic and some people will never get it. Hell, even my father who has been an active Hunter his whole life has been losing the desire for the "kill." I just do not see where killing a bunch of coyotes in an event, piling them up and drawing attention to ourselves is going to help the hunting scene. Looking at it from their point of view I'm sure it looks barbaric. A bunch of people out spending thousands of dollars on fancy equipment to shoot small wild dogs that they do not eat or even want after the shot and putting dollar figures on body counts all while standing next to stacks of bloody fur, smiling. Again, the only reason I even commented on this thread as I had no intention too is because one person specifically essentially called me an anti Hunter (by default) and I take extreme offense to that. What gives him the right to tell me what I should do or think or be the ultimate judge in how I'm classified? You can post up all sorts of quotes, label me whatever you think I am. But they too are just one person with an opinion, some people just believe that they're opinion weighs more because they're more intelligent. And at the end of the day you can put whatever spin you want on this coyote contest but honestly, people are joining it not to give money to the FD because you don't even have to leave your house to do that and they'll gladly take your money any day of the year. 2. I did not read through all of this thread, but saw the majority. I do not agree with if you aren't advocating for it then you're an advocate against it argument. There isn't a single person that agrees with everyone hunting or fishing regulation. Same as there probably isn't a republican or Democrat that hasn't disagreed with their party's policies from time to time. The whole statement is near sighted. So I support hunting as a whole to it's fullest but because I don't particularly like trapping I'm an anti Hunter? I've never once bashed someone for trapping, and don't care to participate. So am I against trapping? No. I just choose not to participate. I'm with the few on here who thinks the premise of quantity kill contests are a bad look to the scrutinizing public. That doesn't mean I'm against them, I don't agree with antis. It's just distasteful in my opinion. I've shot a fair amount of coyotes, I don't choose to "stack them like cordwood" and plaster the picture all over the place. Part of it has to do with the fact that I use little to no part of the animal. I'll get a bunch of loyal crusaders with a case of cabin fever responding to this but I truly don't care. You don't get to choose what "sportsman" means for everyone and your opinion is no greater than mine. The whole "hoorah we're hunters and we'll kill any animal we want and throw it in their faces mentality isn't always the best solution," IN MY OPINION... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  3. Ill wing out a wild guess of 2.5? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. That is true, because the ridiculous restrictions only apply to autoloaders with detachable magazines. I put a "spur" grip on mine and kept the functional mag. With some practice the spur really isn't a handicap in my opinion. The definition of a pistol grip in this situation is a grip "that protrudes conspicuously below the magazine well." Take that away and you have the freedom for detachable magazines. Or just run it the way you want. Has anyone actually heard of people getting jammed up with these laws? 5. I'll let you trick me just once more, Onondaga Lake. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

  7. Dragging swimbaits in 30' of water and catching largies in January from a boat. All together strange! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  8. Big open water January greenbacks on swimbaits. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  9. Winchester, he's a piebald coloration miniature dachshund. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. That's awesome, and to have history with him for so long is even more unique. I have a feeling I'm going to be doing this deerage thing a bit more often when I get a deer that looks to be old, doe or buck. I need to order another kit now for my doe teeth, that's the one I'm really curious about. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  11. Wow, 8.5 on your buck. That's impressive, have a picture handy? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. A few full body pics. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  13. My guess is also 4.5 yrs old, I don't put a lot of faith in my tooth wear aging abilities and only slightly more in general. But based on all of the factors, antler mass, 190# dressed, tooth wear, size of his head etc... It may come back at 3.5, it may come back at 6.5, really tough to say. 14. I was debating on whether or not to even shoot the doe because she just wasn't that big, honestly I kept going back and forth on whether it was a fawn or not. She hung around at 3 yds too long and I decided it wasn't a fawn and shot her. She only hit 98 lbs on the scale. Possibly going downhill? I was very surprised to see her teeth after assuming she was 1.5yrs old at the shot. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  15. I killed this doe a few years back during archery, I still have her lower jaw in the freezer for future aging. Her teeth were the most worn I've ever seen. I killed her in a bow only area too, I'm anxious to see how old she was also, just haven't sent the teeth out yet... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  16. Let me know if you want a different angle, better light etc... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. I can post a few pics of the half of the jawbone that I have, my taxidermist misunderstood that I wanted the entire lower jaw back and he split the lower jaw in half through the front incisors. I'm sending it out tomorrow but if you want I'll throw up pics of what I have? As for price, it cost me $50 (I paid the extra $15 for an age certificate) and results should be back within 90 days. The teeth did not look nearly as worn as deer I have shot in the past so it will be very interesting to see what they determine. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  18. So I'm not the only one haha. The one thing I hate is screwing around at the base of my tree. Once I'm to my spot I want to be up in a matter of minutes, when I leave I want to be gone in a matter of minutes. I can achieve this with my climber. And noone can convince me that hanging in a saddle is more comfortable than a summit lounge seat! I have a few long distance spots on stateland that I'd rather not have to carry a climber to, so I bought a lightweight set of climbing sticks, modified them to use lone wolf's versa buttons. I used them 4 times and they've sat ever since. It took me 15 minutes and a lot more sweat than a climber does. So knowing that I don't even like to hang and hunt with climbing sticks is enough for me to not want the saddle portion either. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  19. It was so nice it felt like March! We probably had around 100 fish on the ice in 3 hours between 3 of us. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. Got into a pile of fish yesterday afternoon. It's not often you ice fish when it's 55° before Christmas. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. I've looked into them a fair amount but admittedly have never tried one. I don't think it's for me. Seems like a pita from the videos I've seen. It comes across to me as a fad that will die out but who knows? I too am looking forward to your first hand experience. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. Will do, just received my return shipment packet in the mail, I should have results within 90 days. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. My first year on the lease, killed 3 deer, 2 with bow, 1 with gun. My biggest buck ever. I had a 20 day vacation to hunt the last 2 weeks of archery, killed my best buck the first morning. Only hunted 3 times after November 2nd as I wanted 1 more deer but wanted to wait until I had another buck tag, 2nd sit of gun I killed another buck and called it quits. Had plenty of tags left but had enough venison. Long story short, biggest buck, plenty of meat and the least amount of hours in the woods ever. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. I've heard of people eating them but never fully realized people actually did I guess? Hmm, I'd try it for sure. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  25. Is it really a beaver or did I miss something? Is it muddy or fishy tasting? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
