  1. I've done all of this before except the pressure washer. Doesn't the pressure washer break the nasal bones? I just pay $50 and pick it up a couple days later. Not worth my time or cleanup. I can think of alot of things I'd rather do then pick brains out of a gelatenous boiled skull. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  2. I see people wondering what law was broken and understand it's complicated by hunting clauses to the law. To me this is the simplest answer. ANIMAL CRUELTY. Does anyone even know if these kids were actively hunting during this video? I never saw a weapon? They were dressed like hunters I know but...? What would you guys consider the law broken if they hit this deer with their car and then did what they did in the video? Would it then be animal cruelty? Again I don't know for sure, but if this didn't break a single law but I can't have more than 10rds in my magazine then shame on society... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  3. That's basically what I was getting at. Just because I'm a hunter doesn't mean I'm always going to stand side by side with someone because they're a hunter also. I'm not anti hunting obviously but I can see validity in some arguments put forth by them (rarely but it has happened). I'm also pro gun but maybe not as much as some people out there, there are exceptions to everything and everyone draws lines somewhere. The difference is I don't want to be present when certain methods are used to dispatch animals so I avoid them, I don't advocate against them audibly. This instance I will audibly object whether I agree with an anti or not. I'll never not stand for hunting in the grand scheme of things, but this instance is not hunting and something needs to happen. What if nothing were to happen and suddenly this is the new "tide pods challenge" for people? Do we look the other way because it was done under the hunting "blanket." Sorry for the longwinded responses, I just feel passionately about this topic. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  4. I've thought about that also, it can be a slippery slope. The difference I see is, these kids were not doing this in an attempt to dispatch the animal. This was done simply for amusement as seen in the video. I am not big into trapping myself, I have done it, wasn't a big fan. I actually ended letting up almost all of the animals go after they were caught because to me the sport ended at me catching them. That being said I am in no way against trapping but I have known trappers who in my opinion inhumanely kill animals on the regular. Now you can say well they are both forms of cruelty, to an anti I'm sure it looks that way. The difference again to me is that these trappers were trying to dispatch the animal, not beat it for amusement. While I choose not to pay attention to trapping customs because I can see light on both sides of the argument I simply cannot look away from this type of behavior in the video. It truly angers me beyond rational thought. This was simple evil. And there are hunting customs out there that I'm more on the anti side of than hunting side at times, I have a deeper respect for almost any animal than most humans. I fully get what you are saying and I agree. But there has to be a line somewhere and this is way over it for me. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  5. I too am hoping to get my first deer next fall with my new recurve, that is if I feel confident enough by next season. We'll see. I found a killer deal on a Bear Super Grizzly that had roughly 6 arrows through it. Guy bought it to shoot targets and bought way too heavy of a draw weight for his age/stature and couldn't draw it. It's a hair heavier than I would've picked had I ordered it myself but it doesn't feel bad at all. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  6. I can only assume that one stomps a possum to death? Apparently I don't fit into the 50% because I've never stomped a possum or killed a cat intentionally. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  7. These two are perfect candidates for Trump's new law on animal cruelty being a federal offense and now considered a felony. Although the bill is said to not apply to hunting, fishing or trapping, I think every hunter out there can agree that this is not hunting or a representative of any form of hunting. We'll see... Sadly I bet they get off with a slap on the wrist. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  8. Animal cruelty to that level should include mandatory jail time, loss of hunting privileges forever. I'd be going to jail if I ever saw something like that and it would be worth it. I hope karma is real and finds them... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  9. Haha classic movie! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  10. Close enough, 134 and change. Good guesses! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  11. Feel free to throw a guess at my archery buck from this year if you like Biz. See if your 2-3% holds up... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  12. Oh ok, I suck at it but I'll throw out a 174. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  13. Officially scored at: huge. Wasn't the score on this guy already on the forum? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  14. I only hunt stands so.... Stand. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  15. I had a box of Winchester 35 Rem that had 7 duds in one box. After the first few I didn't trust the box so I shot them all. Called Winchester, they tried to blame the gun, the gun shot fine up until then and has ever since then. Had a gunsmith check it out, no issues. I sent them pictures and emails and they sent me reimbursement for the box if I remember correctly. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  16. How many ticks are you covered in by the time you get back to the truck? Blood doesn't bother me, but my buck this year could just about walk away with all of the ticks crawling on him. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  17. Probably put a cougar or two on your shoulders in your day too I imagine... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

    Exit 119

My biggest reason for posting would be that in the event someone does want to access my property that they have the proper avenue to readily find my contact information. Then they have no reason to not contact me first. Having property and not feeling like posting it isn't a good idea in this day and age in my opinion. Same reason I lock my house door at night, noone should do anything illegal but if it's a simple "safeguard" then why the hell not?? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk

    Exit 119

Let me preface this with the fact that the original post is a strange one and I do not agree with it. But, one of my best friends is a DEC officer, he catches people in these types of scenarios frequently during deer season. What he has told me is... Most officers take into account if the property is posted and yes LEGALLY, if the person is a repeat offender etc... Most of the time if the person is a first time offender and the property isn't properly posted then they are issued a warning. If they are caught a second time, ticket, no questions asked. In my opinion who the hell owns large chunks of property and is too lazy to post it? Now it doesn't mean it's fair game by any means but I know if I owned land there'd be a posted sign on every other border tree. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  20. No this stuff I leave to my buddy who processes deer. He's awesome at it and saves me a lot of time so I just pay for this every year. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  21. Some motivation for those still hunting. 28lbs of venison pastrami! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  22. If you have giant blocks of generic cuts then you are better off taking it somewhere! I take pride in my deer, everything is meticulously cleaned, cut, vacuum sealed and labeled. It's not for everyone for sure. The hunt comes full circle for me when everything is in the freezer. To each their own. I know what you mean though, I've seen some real hacks who "butcher" their own deer! Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  23. Filled my buck tag this morning. I could see him in the thick stuff but could never get a real good look at him, he crossed an opening about 90 yds away and I touched off a 25 WSSM. He made it about 30 yds. Good way to end a season for me. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  24. I'm guessing they don't want people to know where they are for several reasons. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
  25. I filled my buck tag this AM, had a deer come through a thicket around 8:00AM and had a hard time finding it working through, I caught glimpses here and there and could tell it was a buck, it looked like a basket 8 to me and I had one opening about 90 yds away and as soon as he stepped into it I hammered him, he ran 30 yds and crashed. I knew he wasn't real big but ground shrinkage is a real thing! I'm happy with him, I honestly don't really enjoy gun season so that's probably it for my season, I have all of the venison I need and no buck tags. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
