  1. They bought BH209 and few others only recently. That company has been in a buying spree - and I think they appear very forward thinking. Buying brands that are growing and expiring older brands and types that are not in demand.
  2. We moved a cam in Ohio to a cluster of rubs. To our credit we hung a stand 30 yards to the left of this before we found the rubs and runway. Good but I don’t think we can clear a shot here lol. We may need to move it. That said there are about 10 rubs in this field of view. First buck that went by.
  3. I'm not looking to sell them, but I don't plan to hunt with either of my 30-30s this year. I have two boxes of Hornady Leverlution if you absolutely can't find any if that is your only rifle to hunt with.
  4. The battery was dead - that is why it quit sending. 61% is measured in terms of voltage (when being measured by the cam), and it essentially dead. Similar to how you recharge an AA battery, sometimes you need to jumpstart the charging with a more aggressive charger. Essentially the cam couldn't detect the battery so it was no longer charging. Pulling and replacing allowed the cam to "find" the battery again and hopefully begin charging. The battery draws down over time because the solar panel isn't big enough to supply the power feed for infinity. Hence his issue. Seeing a lithium below 60% is indicating that it's in a negative trend. It's why Spypoint now offers these as replacements - otherwise they really wouldn't be needed.
  5. Probably found 25-30 of them this past weekend at various properties in Ohio and NY. Bucks just doing their thing!

    Time

Rule of thumb is to be in stand at least one hour before legal sunrise. Esp now with the officially legal thirty min prior. Not a huge fan of only being in stand 5-10 min before you can shoot. Leads to rushing, sweating, and mistakes IMO. Chasing daylight is bad.
  7. Felt great to be in stand. Saw the doe and 2 yr old buck from the stand. Heard a lot of deer in the water. Might need to move stand 10-15 yards. But great first sit. On way out had a doe and fawn in the dry beans. Surprised. Hit the inside corner of the dry beans making a racket (rows were narrow) and I bust out the half blind buck who was 10 yards inside the wood line. I only got a glimpse but it was enough to certify him as he has a missing G3 on the non blind side. Makes sense because I have him on cam going back to bed only about 60-70 yards from that spot. I’m missing his PM route. Partner saw the lone buck but never got an ID.
  8. Large single doe jogged by at 20. caught me off guard. Barely time to hear her before I saw here. In and out of lane in no time. Good thing we’re not shooting does right now. We will see her later this year for sure.
  9. Partner lost buck at his 9 o clock. Made a scrape and rubs. Big body but never got full view of him or enough to know more. Somewhat quiet for me although I only have two 20 yard lanes here. Can see two spots out about 60 yards but all else I’m not sure I’d see a giant within 20 yards due to thick cover and leafs.
  10. Tucked near a marsh/swamp. Not something I’ve been around in a while. Standing water and full grown trees in it. Found a land bridge about 76 yards to my NE when we were down Labor Day. I feel like that spot will be big come rut.
  11. In the stand just now. Feels good. Wind a bit high but keeping bugs away. Two hours of sit time. Partner immediately has a buck within 45 yards. Making scrape. Awaiting next message.
  12. Update: somehow I’m missing two bolts to two ladder stands we are bringing with us. I separated them when storing after we got back from Missouri. Looks like a TSC stop is in order as we leave.
  13. Up and at em. Got a cup of coffee and working on packing gear. Hope to be on the road by 10. At the farm by 1-1:30. We will set up a stand or two at one farm and decide to hang and hunt or head to the other farm to hunt a few stands we set Labor Day weekend. In any case we will be in a stand this PM. We are not sure about when we will head into the woods for the afternoon but my guess is 4. Bugs I’m sure will be bad and rain in the forecast. Good news is my rain gear doesn’t let them bugs bite lol. Most recent image. Not super high expectations today but more or less looking to just learn and observe.
  14. Lol you think that is too crooked?
  15. @WNY Bowhunter supplied the latest wall candy for the room.
  16. i use darkness 95% of the time. other time is my phone light with my thumb over the light to make it absolutely minimal.
  17. Nothing like a HF argument thread right before season.
  18. I'm not saying I agree or not. I just sell shovels and pic axes to the miners.
  19. They run cams from me - I was kind of shocked how hard it is for them to keep tabs on those bucks. The guy is super nice. It does amaze me how much $ people spend on those hunts. There are some either very hard working or very fortunate people in life to throw that kind of money around.
  20. Get the seat time in when it is right. Last year hunting it...I'd throw the baby out with the bathwater, lol. Fill that seat more than normal during the right hours and push boundaries (not property lines, but you get my drift). You have all of the ammo needed to swing for the fence!
  21. 3M rubbing compounds - they come in different grit/aggression levels. You'll want a medium one followed by a lighter one and then a buffing compound to bring out the shine. Claybar might be needed too. All that said...that bumper cover needs some work. And you have alignment issues, might have clips busted underneath because the gap of the cover at the light is much wider than at the wheel well. She's pushed down a bit. Can see it all the way across the bottom of the headlight.

    Beer

I agree with that - they do all taste very similar. Funny you say that because I didn't make that connection at first, but now its clear as day lol.
