Felt like a fun hunt. It was 60 degrees which is cooler than alot of early bow hunts, plus I wouldn't hunt early if I didn't have the setup to properly process the meat. I went with a buddy to a spot I've never been to before. We actually ended up just sitting together watching deer and a few fox for an hour and a half before we had a big doe come in by herself. I doubt Ill make it out again this year, but I'll do it again next year if there's a season. Plus an extra doe in the freezer is a great way to start the season.

She ran 40 yards. Took out one lung and liver… didn’t lose any meat besides some ribs.

This morning… a fresh egg and some fresher venison.

First deer with a gun in like 10 years. Public land too!

Success within the first hour of the season. She’s hanging out in the deer fridge now.

Ill be out this weekend. I've got no problem taking a fat doe early in the morning, then putting her right in the deer fridge. None of my normal spots are open for the early season, so Ill be out on state land. Probably using a gun too... talk about changing things up! -

2022 Finger Lakes vacation is a wrap. We did 7 nights on Keuka and 2 on Canadaigua. Crushed the panfish and did ok on smallies. Kids has a blast.
