  1. I was using fixed since I first started bowhunting. Specifically the original muzzy 3 blades and NAP hellrazors. I took a bunch of deer with both heads. Last season I had the biggest buck i've ever seen at 15 yards and I choked big time. I made a poor, non-lethal shot on the deer and he survived. Since that painful experience i've switched my broadhead to spitfire maxx. I havent shot anything with them yet but im looking for a little more cutting diameter for marginal hits, incase it happens again.
  2. Yea apples are very limited on my farm. A few of the trees that produce heavy every year only have a few on them. But my pear trees are loaded! Go figure!
  3. Holy Moly thats a lot of land! Thank you for the link.
  4. Those are nice bucks. I like the idea of hanging your own stand too. Thats an awesome price! Free range im hoping?
  5. I've only found one 3 point shed in my 13 years of hunting in Gilboa.
  6. Very Cool. I have a coyote howler too! All I can say is I CANT WAIT!!!!
  7. the coyote howl is a great idea! Thanks Biz! This plot is so small theres no way i can get out without spooking something. I will try to put stands between bed and feed but this was a kill plot I just put in soecifiacally for me to hunt over. Thanks for the input guys!
  8. After finishing up my second foodplot, one that I had intended on hunting over, I thought to myself: How do you get out of the stand in the afternoon without spooking deer? I know some people have fellow hunters drive ATV's right to the stand to pick the hunter up but im not going to have that available to me. What do you guys do?
  9. Ok getting back to the post, I went back and measured the knot in the tree above his nose and he is about 5'10" to the nose. I think I would pass on him if I had a chance. Seems a little small.
  10. Thanks for the input guys! I thought he looked a little on the small side.
  11. We always knew we had them, just could never get a pic of one. Finally here he is. I have no clue on judging bears, does this look like a mature boar?
  12. Im not even going to bother to comment here because someone will jump down my throat and accuse me of being a bad hunter or a greedy trophy hunter....what has this site come too???
  13. For what its worth im excited. I have a farm in 4G and we've been letting the small bucks walk for about 5 years now. Very frustrating to see a 4 pointer you've been passing all archery season hanging in front of your neighbors barn...
  14. I WAS UP IN 4G LAST WEEKEND AND DIDNT HEAR ANY GOBBLES BUT DID HEAR A FEW HENS TALKING.
  15. Last saturday I didnt hear one gobble. Sunday I heard 6.
  16. Sounds like a plan Bubba. If they are starting to bachelor up again a few gobbler yelps probably wouldnt hurt.

  18. My cousin killed a bird in Westchester this morning at 10:30 after the rain stopped. 20 lbs, 11 inch beard, 1 inch spurs.
  19. BUBBA KEEP AT IT WE HAVE A CONTEST TO WIN!!! lol
  20. I think I read somewhere that ever since the DEC stopped releasing turkeys into the wild, the population has been on the decline. Correct if im wrong here.
  21. Im experimenting with WI Extreme and WI Edge this year. Both were recommended by the guy at WI for my area. Going with a half acre of wintergreens too.
