rattled in a 4 pointer last night and had some other comotion going on in some thick stuff. i couldnt get an ID on what they were. A fresh scrape was ripped open on my way out.
Ive orphaned fawns the past 2 years, did it again this year and will keep doing it. Out here on Long Island there are no predators besides humans so I just whack away! By that time the fawns are eating acorns and are mostly weaned off the milk.
I think both these bucks are 3.5 years of age but they could be older. I dont think the 8 will go 130" but maybe close to it? First 2 pics are the same buck. The third is a 9 pointer. What do you guys think?
My cousin did his part last weekend taking this massive doe off my farm. He was on his way back to the house when she stepped out right in front of him and he gave it to her at 20 yards.
Opening day we saw plenty of deer in the wind. My cousin saw 5 does and a nice 6 and I saw a doe and 2 unidentified deer. They move in the wind, you just need to be in the right place.
i hate hunting in the wind. Rocking back and forth in the tree while desperately holding on to the bottom of the seat is not my idea of fun. Plus I dont ever see deer moving in high winds. I think they get too skittish.
That is one of the cleanest gut jobs ever! Heres my Long Island doe from Sunday night. From the looks of her snout she seems to have some age on her. i didnt check the teeth and im kicking myself for not doing so.

same here! I killed a doe with them the other night. I have to say i wasnt overly impressed with the entry & exit hole, but the sharpness, strength, and accuracy make up for it!
