Fine if u want to hunt with a spear and u practice and become proficient with it ,same for any hunting implement gun , bow, etc. The glorifying the kill and his disdain for his prey is not my way of living. Nor how I taught my children. It only makes for more ant hunting sentiment . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's it I'm jealous of them , spear an animal on film an act like that, ur asking for a PC outcry. That's a fact . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like to bow hunt right around Veterans Day every year. I don't always get a big buck but I usually see one or two searching. Plus I enjoy being in the woods in November . That seems like the optimum time in my experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had a problem this year went online Monday and entered my info and cc#. System had a glitch and bottom line was it charged my card but no license confirmation. Called next day and found out my card was charged yet they said no license was generated. I then did my license via phone. DEC assured me my first charge will be dropped. I will wait a few days n see what happens. Just an FYI my experience (dec said there was a hiccup on Monday ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Several years ago a friend and I were hunting spring turkey . We were set up on a field edge near a brook my friend was calling about 75 yards from my position as I watched a coon stalk him and walk right up to him. My friend caught a little movement at about 3 feet away and he flinched, the coon turn tail and ran and my friend almost had a heart attack. Very funny! A coon will stalk a turkey I seen it first hand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a Manchester terrier and she is a real terror on mice n small mammals, I saved a rabbit from certain death last week as she sniffed out its burrow and stuck her head in and pulled the cottontail out. I made her drop it.Great little dog , her prey drive off the chart when she's onto something. Loves people and other dogs though great pet. Wife hates mice n lil critters so when she's out in yard dog "protects her" lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've been seeing quite a few lambs this spring n early summer. I've always felt that the winter determines deer population more than any other factor. So I'm hoping all areas of the stAte rebound and we get a few mild winters in a row! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

About 5 years ago on opening day of firearms , I witnessed a coyote chasing a turkey . I watched for about 5 minutes as the yote forced the turkey to flap its wings and land on top of a small bush . The turkey was too heavy and would fall through the bush to the ground, the coyote appeared to be everywhere as each time the turkey would flap again to gain altitude. I ended it with a shot at the yote. Unfortunately a whiff! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I hate to mention this to those of you who have been hunting turkeys quite a bit this season with little or no success. As I mentioned yesterday I am done hunting this spring due to work , parties, etc. so my kid brother asks me where he should hunt turkey with his son. I tell him to go near one of my deer stands in the woods near a big hay field @ 100 acres. He hasn't turkey hunted at all this spring. So he wakes up at 0800 heads out to the spot, sets up and gives a call , gets an answer from this bird that I've seen in the field a couple of times , answers again my brother stops calling and the bird walks right into him and he shoots it at 25 yds. Luck is what u make it but I thought I would share this one . I'll send a pic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well I had ground hog day this morning. Same birds ,same gobble like crazy action at first light. Heading my way and then silence and poof they disappear. Well that's it for me this spring I had fun and shot a nice bird. Good luck to all and be safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First time out since the 10th. Had several birds hammering like crazy around 0515. Thought we were in the mix for my nephew, sounded like 4 birds all fired up double gobble answers, what a racket! Then for reasons unknown to me all went silent and that was that, good 30 minutes of action. Never laid eyes on them but I'd say around 75 yards from us in the woods. I'll give tomorrow morning a shot in the same area. See what we see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

True Airedale I probably will head that route. Hate to see the old cartridges disappear.

358 win . Also very difficult , I have a sweet Browning BLR . But not much ammo maybe two boxes. Impossible to find. Shot some nice deer and one black bear with it, but now I'm careful with shooting it until I get some ammo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Went out this morning trying to get my nephew on the board. First light I played with two toms who wouldn't come to my location . @0615 had two hens come walking in without the toms, watched them for awhile and they eventually walked off. Moved onto a spot I haven't hit yet, it's a large hayfield and we set up three decoys and quickly got an answer. Bird came across the road and put on a show in the field , strutting and gobbling for about 30 minutes. He was 50 yds out from us on field but wouldn't come any closer. The decoys seem to have no affect on him. Wish I had a video camera . Well we had some fun and that's what it's all about . Won't be able to hunt next couple days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
