  1. I am packing my backpack right now,my best friend and I will spend all day looking for deer. Finally I can go back in the woods!
  2. we have a county tax map online version here in otsego county, shows all the property lines and owners,so state land and county land shows up. You do have to know where the state land is though,it is not highlighted.
  3. I havent been out since opening day of regular season. Tagged out, which is good and bad. But now I can finally head out again...
  4. I will also exchange the bow for the muzzleloader. Hard to go back to a bow when it is this cold and I can reach 3x further with the gun. I will be doing a lot of walking in the snow....
  5. Who is going out tomorrow? I will be out all day Monday and Tuesday, and again on the weekend if I still have tags. My wolf is hungry...
  6. Belo, what woman is ever wrong? Have you no life experience?
  7. Grow, you should stick with one stand for a week, the deer are bound to rotate through there one day. Seems like the old you zig, they zag.
  8. I am a little behind on harvests this year. I usually try for 4 deer and have two. No more regular season tags for me,but I have two more for muzzleloader and am going to try like heck on Monday and Tuesday to fill those. Two all day hunts, and my hunting buddy and I have not been at the 300 acres we get to hunt since opening day. I hope the deer there are doing their usual thing, eating acorns all day long. In that case it will be easy to fill my other tags.
  9. Might as well try it,what do you have to loose?
  10. That vacuum is crazy, every time i shoot my 50 cal muzzleloader i have to make sure to either be laying down or tied to a tree, otherwise i get pulled of my feet. That is inconvenient to say the least.
  11. I pay $ 80,but the poor hygenist has to work for it.
  12. I am in the SZ and muzzleloader opens Monday. I have two tags left and will fill them. I can't wait.
  13. My only gun besides the 22. A wolf muzzleloader. Not great in a gunfight, bit it kills deer nicely.
  14. I do the exact same thing. Got a nice pic of a bobcat, and the usual suspects, coyotes, crows and ravens,a fox and some raccoons.
  15. I think he used books instead of woods,so anything is possible.
  16. Go get em tiger, errr, turkey. I will help lighting this thread up come Monday.
  17. Wow,what a porker that buck is. I hope you get to see him and have a friend drag him out for you.
  18. Friend of mine shot a dog onbhis property that was aggressive towards his kids. I have no problem with that, shooting one for protection. Turns out it belonged to some neighbors a few lots over and they were pissed. They took to a little vandalism to let him know...
  19. I was thinking there are no giants around my hunting grounds because i never saw one. That changed when i got some cameras, wow I found out. Still waiting to see one in person, but it is nice to know they are around. The area gets hunted pretty hard on opening weekend, but there are a lot of hidey holes for the smart old deer as well. And some properties are off limits of course. I am in Otsego county
  20. I tried, but have an android,so not working for me at all. I like the idea though.
  21. Looks like a perfect shot, ruined some of that hard to process shoulder meat, congrats!!!
  22. Especially if you only shoot bucks like the one this year. Every other deer has a chance to get old too.
