Sounds about right, all of our friends have kids so we all just get together as a group. I mean she isn't getting a spa day or anything but being able to socialize with someone instead of your spouse and kids for months at a time is almost as good as a vacation. We do our weekend away from the kids in the summer but that is the only time we are apart from them. I guess I got lucky when my wife hunts, fishes, and likes doing the outdoorsy stuff. Only thing she doesn't like is ice fishing, she would rather sit inside next to the fire with a book while I take the kids.

Don't just assume because of what you hear there aren't people that would be capable of being an armed teacher in a school. I know many would not want that responsibility but would be more than capable. It all depends on the district, we are a split rural/city district and about 1/3 of the teaching population is conservative and hunt or own firearms. So you can't paint every district with a broad brush heck my wife's district is all rural about 1/4 are liberal teachers and most still own firearms and/or hunt. I would be willing to bet there are more than you think.

The battle,over gun rights

Not so much that but parents gave a damn what their kid was doing and not just sitting them in front of the 1 eyed babysitter. The video games and movies all have ratings that parents "should" use to gauge what they should be watching and playing. I know with my wife and myself growing up we didn't get to watch R rated movies until we were 15 or 16. I teach middle school and I can tell you the number of kids that have seen movies like "The wolf of wall street" would blow your minds. I'm sorry but a lot of all this crap we see happening is all a result of how that person was raised as a child, and influences of today's media. -

We also didn't have the ability to see what was happening in real-time or the amount of media coverage we have today. With social media we knew the parkland shooting was happening seconds after it started compared to 30 years ago when you heard about it happening on the "Nightly News" hours after the event and it was purely the facts not some cockamamie story the news station/outlet decided to twist around and add personal bias. -
I'm looking into those air fryers. Looks to be the same effect minus the stuff that is bad for you.

Not many knew that and even less knew their once legal gun was now illegal. -
I thought it was paint and guzzle...

To anyone with common sense it isn't the gun creating the problem, it's the upbringing, societal influences, and mental disorders that make these people go bat crap crazy. -

That is doubtful being that less than 1% registered their AR when they were supposed too. Now you can get around registering by making them compliant but there wasn't anything available to do this when they passed through the Safe Act. It took a little work to figure out what was legal and what wasn't. -
If you can make it work without the fernco I would go that route.
-
I am happy I read down through before I mentioned code. Like mentioned already, fernco do not meet code.

Stand down order or not, I'm not sure I would have been able to just sit and watch and in no way am I an LEO. I'm a technology teacher in a larger district with around 300 students per a class. I can tell you in an active shooter situation we are supposed to shelter in place even if there is a fire alarm going off along with announcements giving the all clear. I'm not sure if this is a statewide practice or not obviously not a practice in the Parkland District.

With the loadout the officers have in their cars in ny there is no reason 1 cop can't stop the shooting. They have the bullet proof vests, pistols, shotgun, and some cases an AR. No reason with all that gear a police officer can't go in and neutralize the threat. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Hmmm good to know. Havent seen a Fisher while hunting looking forward to an encounter. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

If that's a Fischer it has huge feet. They are about the size of my 100lbs. weimaraner. I hit a coyote with my bow during bow season thought I hit him good maybe that is the one. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I decided to take a quick ride into the woods with my son. We came across a wierd set of coyote tracks. Anyone have a idea of why the would look like this? It wasn't just this spot but the whole animal trail was like this. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I can get my ATV back there and use my 30 gallon tank so I figured I would use that and my boomless sprayer. Then drag a little to break up the thick layers of leaves and old sticks. After that throw down some mix and call it done. My plan was to fence in a small section to see how it is growing and compare how much the deer are hammering it.

My bet is they charge $100 and rebuild it with a $10 rebuild kit. That is what I have seen in my area. They said they recommend using stabil and non eth gas hoping the customer will do 1 of the 2.

That's varnish and happens with all gas ethanol or not. Actually ethanol added fuel is less likely to to turn into varnish as regular gas. Varnish is the breakdown of gasoline and easily cleaned up with E85 or similar alcohol based solvent. My guess is that you might have had a little condensation in the tank and the water got pulled into the carb where you drained it out. Any tank will build condensation inside of an unvented container not filled all the way. Believe it or not you should add some sort of stabilizer to the fuel to trap the water particles and not allow it to condense on the sides of the container. The ethanol fuel doesn't do anything to an engine any different than standard fuel but it will eventually eat rubber gaskets and plastic float bowls just the nature of alcohol and plastic and rubber. Newer gas engines are being made to be more tolerant to the ethanol fuels not so much small engines but cars, boats, larger gas powered equipment all are usually built with ethanol safe gaskets. I know there are manufacturers of carb re-build kits that have ethanol safe gaskets. I have used a couple on some of the small engines that I have had to fix and haven't had any trouble with 10% ethanol with stabil for years. The only thing I run non ethanol in is my chainsaws and weed whackers.

I don't think armed teachers is the answer to the problem but an option. In the sense of who is armed I think all school buildings should have a minimum of 1 SRO (school resource officer-a police officer paid for by the district) and depending on size 2. These should also be paid by the federal government not the school district, so schools can not opt to not have one based on school funding. The only way to stop a person with a gun is another person with a gun plain and simple. If the federal government doesn't want to pay for an SRO create a federal program and division for protection of school districts where they would train specifically for school shooters and bomb threats. All the trainees would need a yearly refresher course and qualify with a multitude of weapons just like any cop would. I am sure any funding needed you could pull $2 more out of every paycheck and welfare check to fund the program and no one would complain (well maybe the welfare users would). Basically a federal ran school security branch. I am 100% sure this would deter future shootings knowing there were highly trained armed guards. We as a society can not protect people using signs and laws that are reactive there needs to be a proactive approach.

I did but got too late of a start this winter.

Nice looking gun, I like it when they are all shiny new but they aren't any fun all shiny and new.

It looks like the spindle is fine if it is you can buy a whole hub assembly and bolt it on and go. It will get you there and back then take it all back apart and clean the rust out and re-pack the bearings. Packing the bearings is a dirty job but it can be done easily.
