  1. Thats pretty cool. I wonder how that looks to a deer. Can't dogs not see 2D images? Is it the same for deer? Or is that a myth. Is a mirror image even considered 2D? I would think that it is.
  2. Ill be right next to you in Chenango. Passed on young bucks the last two years. Hoping this year will be different. This is the only weekend that I hunt with a firearm. After this its back in to the Westchester wilderness with the dart flinger.
  3. What part of Manhattan is that? Is there a subway near by?
  4. Well done. Congratulations and good luck over the weekend.
  5. No. As long as you stay on private property you are good.
  6. You know what are even scarier than dinosaurs? Hypocrites that live in glass houses and have a bucket of rocks at their disposal. Thems some scary mofos.
  7. Some guys shoot their rifles upon exiting the woods too, as opposed to just manually unloading them. Makes no sense to me. How hard is unloading? Especially with the price of ammo these days.
  8. Im glad we dont hunt in the same area! You coulda shot me!
  9. I'd never want to shoot a person, but I'd love to shoot a buck of that caliber on opening day. And, I hate Carl, that little queerbait.

    Maybe

Also, probably not taken into account, but if Im bowhunting and trying to get 5 or 10 yards from a deer, I'd feel much safer knowing that there is not a gun hunter 200 yards away who may see the same deer and starting letting the lead fly. Would you go to the range and stand 10 yards away from a target down range of the firing line? I wouldnt.
  11. Ive been told that if you dont have access to ethanol free gas, which I dont, your next best bet is 89 octane. I don't know the accuracy of this statement.
  12. I wouldnt hesitate. I dont think it will make a big difference. Just my opinion, what do I know.
  13. aside from the occasional o-ring, what in your carburator is rubber? Gaskets are gaskets. The only rubber I can think of is an occasional o-ring or the tip of a crappy float needle. I replace all my float needles to get rid of rubber nipples and usually swith to Viton o-rings.
  14. Anytime you are done using something you own, that runs on gasoline, shut the fuel supply, after the tank and before the carb, and let the motor run until the machine dies. This will ensure a carb that is empty, and free of ethanol gas to sit and gum up your jets. This is really only necessary if the machine is going to sit for two weeks or more, but I do it all the time to all of my machines, excepting my cars and trucks.
  15. I prefer two wheels, but I sure could use a 4 wheeler when I shoot a deer. Dragging them up the hill back to my house is a female dog. Although it is good exercise which I can certainly use.
  16. Ethanol is the devil. You probably have a teaspoon of jelly in your carb.
  17. Welcome. I love the ADKs. High Peaks region is my favorite place on Earth, but I have a small house down on Canada Lake. Come on in and enjoy the site.
  18. My .300 win mag is a great gun, deadly accurate out to 500 yards. Kicks like a f'n mule. 20 shots at the range and I don't want to see that gun again for a month, at least.
  19. I'm at my desk in about 45 minutes each morning. Home in under an hour. And, it's FDNY, not NYFD, just sayin.
