    I need to up my game in this department. I just use an old school double loop strap. One loop around the tree, one loop around me. I forgot to grab it the afternoon I shot my opening day buck and sat in a ladder stand strapless. I’m too old to be risky.

    Does anyone use these in their cameras? I’ve got 16 cams I’m currently running, and most are below 50% at my last card pull, so I need to stock up on AA’s. This seems like a very affordable option if they work well.

    Going to root for @UpStateRedNeck for what appears to be a standing Buffalo logo. And on my third TALL glass of cheap-ass wine, I’m chuckling out loud trying to picture a “nerd neck”.

    My old muzzleloader was a Knight. I’m using the same ball starter, but I think you’re right, this barrel takes a saboted bullet pretty easy.

    This one is new to me so I'm still getting a procedure down. But yes, currently I take it off the gun and screw a jag/pusher on it. I made a witness mark on the rod with that jag on so I've just stuck with that. I use a separate hand starter that I got accustomed to with my last muzzleloader. I need to refine all this though, feels like I'm f-ing around too much.

    Scheduled for my booster on Sunday morning. I wasted a few weeks of my life with the virus this past summer, despite being vaccinated. If the booster decreases my chances of a recurrence by only one percent, at least it’s in the right direction.

    Sat for two 1/2 hr stints and am guessing I saw maybe 40. One that turned orange at the end.

    Fell asleep on the couch watching MNF and woke up way too freaking early at 3:00. Tried to fall back asleep, but no dice. Then I remembered the Geminid meteor shower is supposed to be peaking tonight/this morning. So I’m sitting on the deck with coffee, watching the meteors. Came in to warm up and get a refill. I’m seeing a few. Quit counting at 15 in about 20-25 minutes. Something tells me I’m gonna need a nap later..

    Same. The palm saver sticks out a bit beyond the end of the barrel. I’m sure I’ll forget and leave the ramrod behind at least once or thrice.

    Back at it after a 3 week hiatus w/o a valid tag since the rifle opener. It’s obviously nice to get a buck on the opener but sitting on the sidelines sucks. No one has sat in this box since Thanksgiving. Feeling picky, but I really need to properly christen this new Optima. I feel good out to 150-200 with it. Cmere deer..

    Good point. I’d probably still go with two different vet recommendations over a newly joined hunting forum. For all he or she knows we could be an international cabal of dog haters.

    You have trained vets that are saying your dog needs surgery, right? I’m no veterinarian, I don’t play one on tv, and I didn’t even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I would have followed the vet’s guidance post haste. Hope your dog is not in bad pain, and he has an easy recovery!
