  1. If that is true it is indeed sick and could be an example of things to come. Why can't this great country invent certified mobile polling places that can be moved to areas where needed for those that need it.? The country has gone nuts and as some would have it "it is all Trumps fault".
  2. I didn't miss the point...I understand you need to feed off the "fake news" we all see every day. Maybe Biden supporters feel that way but I think for myself and believe if you want (and should) vote go to the polls. IF for whatever reason you can't make it to the polls accommodations should be made. Accommodations should not be made for convenience to increase the amount of voters for either party. Any doubts I may or may not have on the results will be based on the information I have not what Trump, Biden, or any of the Democratic leaning media report. Giving so many ways to vote is going to jeopardize maintaining the accuracy of the results. All I can do is my part by going to the polls, casting my ballot, and hoping for the best.
  3. It isn't and should not be about the parties accepting the results. It should be about the American people accepting the results and they should be confident in those results. Another Biden supporter that missed the point entirely
  4. You are a pretty intelligent guy but are showing how narrow minded you can be when it comes to Trump just like the media. What would be un American would be the American people be forced to accept election results that are not legitimate. Up until recently if you wanted to vote you went to the polls and cast your vote. Absentee voting was put in place for those that would not be available to vote on election day. Since then "early" voting became available for whatever reason and opens the door for things to go wrong. I personally find it odd that all of the sudden the Democrats are pushing voting by mail, voting early, and even going as far as sending mail in votes to voters. That should lead everyone to believe that fraud could become more possible. All Trump is saying is he will not concede to a fixed or crooked election and neither should the American people. Regardless of who wins I would like to have a good feeling about it being a fair and above board election and I don't doubt for a minute that Trump would concede if he felt the election was fair. By expanding the way you can vote and when you can vote opens the door for corruption. If people can go to Walmart or just about anywhere else by putting on a mask then there is no reason not to go to the polls on November 3rd. No reason to vote early, or by mail. Unless extenuating circumstances prevent one from voting on election day; people should go to the polls to limit the amount of doubt created by all these alternative ways and times to vote. The next thing that will be proposed is "you can text your vote to". We have a system that has worked for hundreds of years. Use it so everyone walks away with the feeling it was fair and square instead of leaving doubt in everyone's mind when their candidate doesn't win. Everyone should feel it is their obligation as an American to vote and get their asses to the polls instead of trying to cut corners.
  5. Not sure I agree with that one. Buffalo/Erie county has been on the rise since it started and have exceeded 11,000 cases. They should have shut that area down a long time ago and left it closed until it showed or shows improvement rather than increases on a daily basis.
  6. Convicted double cop killer Anthony Bottom is being paroled in Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) New York WCBS 880 reports that Bottom and two other members of the Black Liberation Army ambushed NYPD Officers Joe Piagentini and Waverly Jones by using a fake 911 call to get them to come “to a Harlem housing complex,” where they were shot dead. Jones was killed with a single shot to the back of the head while Piagentini was shot 22 times, begging for his life during the attack. Piagentini’s widow, Dianne Piagentini, said that when she learned of Bottoms’ parole it hit her “like a punch in the gut.” “He needed to stay behind bars. For what he did, he should’ve been behind bars for his life,” she said. Dianne added, “Gov. Cuomo has now seen fit to release a cop killer into New York State society. This is what Gov. Cuomo releases into society and thinks that he is rehabilitated? At his trial, he said, there is no rehabilitation for me.” Police Benevolent Society president Pat Lynch also commented on Bottom’s parole, saying, “In the last three years, [there are] 16 cop killers that are now walking our streets, so I was not surprised that once again they’re going to do that. But what makes you so angry is you know there’s a police family that’s now devastated once again, but a family that’ll fight this, and will continue to fight this.” PIX 11 News reports that Bottom “now goes by Jalil Abdul Mutaqim.” He is scheduled to be paroled no later than October 20, 2020.
  7. I knew I had a problem but didn't know it was this bad. Pulled a card this afternoon only to find out I didn't have a very good angle of what I was trying to capture. Got a couple of deer pics, but also confirmed the coyotes are worse than I thought. To make it even worse most have mange. Looks like I'll be trapping for mostly population control. Not much for deer but the coon numbers have increased. The good news is the coyotes do not seem to be affecting the turkey population. I resituated the camera and will check it again in a week or so.
  8. I don't start getting serious til after the 15th or so but spend as much time in the woods the first part of the month as I can simply because it is a beautiful time of the year. The weather is the main factor for me as far as hunting the first two weeks. I just cannot sit in a stand and swat bugs because it is to warm. A little chill in the air is what sparks my interest. Nothing like getting out in the morning with a nice cool temperature and then having it warm up by late morning or mid day. It just doesn't feel right deer hunting when it is warm. The first two weeks I try to spend more time scouting than hunting. After a morning sit I will do some scouting looking for changes that occur and evidence of the up coming rut and try to plan accordingly.
  9. The main reason I use the GPS is because some of the areas I hunt cell phone signals are spotty at best. There are also areas in the Adirondacks that are hard to get reception but I have always been able to acquire a satellite signal on the GPS.
  10. A lot of counties are set up with the county tax maps online. Here in Ontario county I can set at my desk and look up individual properties, boundaries etc. Not sure how often they update them but I know they are behind at the present but will have to have them updated by the end of the year for the county & town tax rolls.
  11. I am using the Garmin 680 and like it. it is a touch screen and has worked for me . You can find them on sale for under $400 if you shop around. This video is of the 680t which has a camera where the 680 doesn't, which lowers the cost. With the exception of the camera they are exactly the same. Can't go wrong with a Garmin in my opinion. It does work with onx.
  12. Hunters Encouraged to Enter Permit Lotteries Pheasant hunting season in Western New York will open on Saturday, Oct. 17, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today. DEC will release approximately 4,600 adult ring-necked pheasants on Western New York lands open to public hunting for this fall's pheasant hunting season. Stocked pheasants will be provided by DEC's Reynolds Game Farm in Ithaca. A complete list of pheasant release sites statewide is available on DEC's website. A special permit is required for hunting small game during the opening day of pheasant season on Zoar Valley Multiple Use Area in the town of Collins (Erie County), and Harwood Lake Multiple Use Area in the town of Farmersville (Cattaraugus County). Hunters interested in entering the DEC permit lottery for these Multiple Use Areas should mail one standard-size postcard to: NYSDEC, Bureau of Wildlife 270 Michigan Ave. Buffalo, NY 14203 Postcards must include the hunter's name, address, telephone number, 2020-21 license back tag number, preferred time of hunt (sunrise to noon or 1 p.m. to sunset), and the management area desired in order of preference. All entries must be received by Sept 25. There is no fee for the permit, and hunters awarded permits will be able to name one additional hunter on their permit. Ten permits will be issued per time block on each management area. Small game hunting on all other days remains sunrise to sunset with no permit required. Hunters should also note that dogs are not allowed within the designated area on the Multiple Use Areas for any purpose during the 48-hour period immediately preceding opening day of the fall pheasant season as posted on Zoar Valley Multiple Use Area and Harwood Lake Multiple Use Area. Hunting throughout the pheasant season is allowed at Golden Hill, Joseph Davis, and Wilson-Tuscarora state parks in Niagara County. However, permits are required on Oct. 17, Oct. 24, and Oct. 31 for Golden Hill, Joseph Davis, and Wilson-Tuscarora state parks. There will be two separate hunts each day that a permit is required: the first hunt will be from sunrise until 12:30 p.m.; the second hunt will be from 12:30 p.m. until sunset. Hunters interested in entering the permit lottery at Golden Hill, Joseph Davis, and Wilson Tuscarora state parks should mail a separate, standard-size file card for each date and park they would like to hunt. 13. Didn't take any pics but today was a productive day. Sighted in two .12 gauge slug guns, a .223 rifle, two .22 rifles, and one .22 magnum. Got them all cleaned, oiled, and put away ready to go. Got enough to get started anyway
  14. Mike I guess I owe you an apology. I didn't realize you had fallen out of your saddle and suffered such a head injury. I hope you get back on your feet and recover enough to think clearly and be able to hunt. Good Luck!
  15. What I really find amazing is that all of the anti Trump/never Trump /pro Biden advocates can't come to realize that their vote is not going to Biden. Kamala Harris is going to be your next president if Biden gets elected . You should be looking at her thoughts and policies and if that doesn't scare you nothing will. Biden is just her ticket to the white house and nothing more.
  16. I also use "acrevalue" as a source and find it useful. It still can only be as accurate as the county tax maps. I know this because I have been watching a nearby piece of property that recently sold and neither acrevalue, onx, or the county tax maps have shown a change of ownership. I waiting to see how soon after the tax maps are updated the acrevalue, and onx, update. They are suppose to have the tax rolls complete by the end of the year so I suspect between now & then the tax maps will be updated also. I am curious to see how soon the others update before I get my subscription.
  17. I would simply because I am looking to fill one or two tags as soon as possible so I can move onto other things. Once I fill a tag or two when I hunt I am trophy hunting and he would get a pass.
  18. I hear ya. Life is a gamble and who knows if it will be worth it or not. I purchased the onx-hunt because a few of the areas I hunt do not have cell phone access so a "app" would be useless to me. At least with the chip I can still use it and identify property boundaries which is really what I bought it for.
  19. I just purchased NY onx for my garmin gps and it appears to be accurate as far as property boundaries go. It also shows trails and access points that were not on the garmin maps. I just put the micro chip in and did not subscribe yet because our property tax map has not been updated . I am going to wait a bit till the county catches up and then subscribe in hopes that onx has caught up to. I have no experience with the other two mentioned or a lot of in field experience with the onx. Only time and use will show how good it is.
  20. A black guy I know was only granted two wishes because he was black . He thought for a while and finally said he wished he was white and between a girls legs. He got turned into a sanitary napkin. Be careful what you wish for
  21. If they are finding them they should be reporting them. Sept. 4th: ALBANY, NY – The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today confirmed that several white-tailed deer in the towns of Nelsonville and Cold Spring in Putnam County and near Goshen in Orange County died after contracting Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD). EHD is a viral disease of white-tailed deer that cannot be contracted by humans. DEC wildlife biologists collected half a dozen deer carcasses in Putnam County and submitted the carcasses to the Wildlife Health Unit for necropsy. Tissue samples were sent to the Animal Health Diagnostic Center at Cornell University where the preliminary diagnosis of EHD was confirmed. DEC also sent samples from four deer from Orange County where the preliminary diagnosis of EHD was confirmed Hunters should not handle or eat any deer that appears sick or acts strangely. DEC will continue to monitor the situation. Sightings of sick or dying deer should be reported to the nearest DEC Regional Office or to an Environmental Conservation Police Officer. In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Markets has alerted deer farmers and veterinarians throughout the state to be aware of the disease and to report suspicious cases. https://www.rocklandreport.com/dec-confirms-epizootic-hemorrhagic-disease-in-putnam-and-orange-county-deer/
