  1. I am out of likes for the day...Pretty cool video
  2. I am looking for a decent buck but personally will take the first adult doe that isn't with fawns the first chance I get. I got skunked last year so it would be real nice to get a doe in the freezer as early as possible. After one is in the freezer I become more selective but even during gun season I will not shoot a doe that has fawn(s) with her. There is no shortage of does in this area so If I can fill permits I will and those I will not use get donated to the Venison Coalition or someone I know that wants one. One is enough to tide me over and to make jerky so if I can get that "one" I can hunt when I want, and not have to be out there in less than ideal conditions.
  3. Correction: I am an idiot sheep. FYI I am not trying to justify anything and not going to try to make something out of nothing. Just because it seems horrible to you doesn't make it horrible for everyone else in the world. My definition of horrible is probably a little worse than yours. For example if my cell phone doesn't work one day it is not the end of the word where in your case it would be a major catastrophe. That is probably an accurate statement but I doubt they would openly say it wasn't a big deal either like they reported in this article so who knows what the "truth" is.
  4. Let's face it. He makes a lot of decisions that we may not like. I am not to concerned with it especially after reading the article. A quote from the article: "Agents are authorized to decline requests that would place the president at risk, but not those that would put themselves at risk. Another agent, however, dismissed the idea that the president had shown reckless disregard for his detail. "I've watched some of the news today and it's ridiculous to say the president is trying to kill off his detail," the agent told CNN. "He's unconventional, but we get the job done." The White House has defended the safety of the president’s short trip outside the hospital. Spokesman Judd Deere said Sunday that “appropriate precautions were taken in the execution of this movement to protect the president and all those supporting it.”
  5. We all get the fact that you do not like Trump and that is your right. I also realize in your eyes I am an idiot but being the idiot that I am do not attempt to make stuff up to post about Biden. If I am going to voice my opinion about him it will be based on truth or what I think he has demonstrated with his actions or words. In four weeks or so we will have the decision of the people that we all will have to live with like it or not. I do not believe your negative postings on Trump will have an effect on how people are going to vote and if anything does nothing but irritate people to the point they need to fire back. I try to stay non-political but sometimes it is real hard to hold back and you don't make it any easier. Regardless of who wins we all need to support the man in office as much as possible whether or not we like them.
  6. I received one of these as a gift.https://www.amazon.com/RICOMAX-Metal-Detector-Waterproof-IP68/dp/B07VV8JND3. When we shoot pistols they are all semi-autos so we would spend a lot of time looking in the grass for spent brass. This works the cats meow. I also was able to find a arrow that I lost two years ago that I shot and couldn't find. It can also turn into a pretty neat little hobby if you have time which I have not had for awhile.
  7. Jut got back from a morning sit in the ladder stand until the wind got pretty busy. Scouted for an hour or so after just to check on activity. Found a couple of pre-rut scrapes along the edge of a cornfield behind me. Rubs are not popping up yet but I was able to find one decent one. I think we have a ways to go yet in this area. Nice to be out and get the first sit out of the way. Plan on scouting some state land I normally hunt over the weekend. Good luck to anyone going out and congrats to all the harvests all ready. NICE BUCK CHRIS
  8. ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Governor Andrew Cuomo provided an updated into the state's progress on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic during a conference call on Thursday. Governor Cuomo announced that the state has released a new app that will alert you if you were within 6 feet of a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, and if you were around that person for 10 or more minutes. The app cost approximately $700,000 and was paid for with money from the federal government, as well as funds from the Bloomberg Philanthropy foundation. The free app, called “COVID Alert" is available on Apple and Android devices.
  9. Not this morning....warm & windy with a forecasted high in the 60's. Maybe some scouting later.
  10. Getting mine out for the season and read the enclosed stat sheet. There were over 3800 bow hunters that reported for 2019. According to the report hunters logged an average of 12.2 days afield and an average of 3.7 hrs. per day. What I found interesting is there were only 96 participants from Suffolk & Westchester zones, 206 from the Northern zone, with the remaining 3,502 being from the Southern zone. 92% of the data they are "collecting" is from the southern zone
  11. Mine does not say that on either side of the ticket. The only exception on the back of mine says: "If a firearm is not available for any reason we reserve the right to substitute with a firearm of equal value or $400 cash". No mention of a crossbow at all.
  12. One of the saddest things I have ever watched and could only watch part of it. The only winner of that fiasco was the news media. They won't be saying what a good job Biden did and will only be reporting the lousy job Trump did. Sad day for America.
  13. You are more than likely right. If trump debates on his accomplishments instead of his tweets he might do ok but more than likely it will be nothing but finger pointing at each other and will continue to turn everyone off. It will probably be more frustrating than ever but I will watch until I see it is pointless. Actually I will probably DVR it, listen to the media the next day, then watch it and form my own opinion based what I see. It is always fun to see/hear the media's interpretation of what was said.
  14. Been trying to get things done ahead of time this year. Oil & all filters changed on truck--Check Atv oil change, new spark plug, and filters changed--Check Snow Blower oil change, greased, and new plug--Check One Ladder Stand placed & trimming complete--Check All hunting related clothes, packs and related equipment soaked in permethrin--Check (today) Shotguns, rifles, & .22's sighted in and ready to go--Check New string and cable job on bow--Check Tons of practice with the bow--Check (ongoing) Traps all dyed and ready to go--Check I am way more ahead of the game this year compared to most years. There is always more to do but the stuff that really matters is complete so let the good times roll. Hope everyone else has a good start also.
  15. Sales for hunting and trapping licenses through the New York State DEC are at record-breaking levels, according to DEC officials. Nearly three times as many licenses and deer permits were sold on the first day they were made available than the last couple of years. High numbers of sales continued over the next couple of weeks. There was more than $6.2 million in license sales in the first two weeks they were available, compared to $3.5 million for the same period in 2019.
  16. Classy Call it what you want. This thread has gone well beyond "discussion". Her mother was Indian and her father was Jamaican which makes her "a women of color".
  17. See you ae still up on current events.....SHE IS NOT BLACK. She is know as a "woman of color" and I think the jury is still out whether or nor she is a woman.
  18. There have been a number of cases of EHD in rabbits reported across the country: A deadly virus is spreading quickly among wild rabbits in southwestern North America, threatening populations and possibly endangered species. Last week the virus, which causes a hemorrhagic disease, reached Southern California. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/05/deadly-virus-killing-wild-rabbits-north-america
  19. Precisely why I am hoping for a landslide victory either way.
  20. So sorry you can't make it to the polling place to place your vote. I will be going to the polls even though it is right around the prime of the rut. But at least you are voting.
  21. Like I noted before. I think for my self and do not draw my conclusions based the so called "news" reports. I can see from some of your Political source links you are well informed
