  1. Just my two cents but I would remove the peep. They are nothing but a pain and really serve no purpose. You can get better results or just as good by concentrating on a consistent anchor point and point of aim; plus it is one less thing to go wrong and cause aggravation. I tried using one after learning to shoot instinctive and just could not get consistent. I started using a sight and found it even more aggravating.. I know there are a lot of guys that really depend and count on them but there is plenty of time to get use to shooting without one and it could be worth a try. One less thing to malfunction is a step to a successful hunt instead of a frustrating experience.
  2. Wouldn't actually call this stupidity as much as a demonstration of his never ending dictatorship. Now you can be pulled over to verify everyone is wearing a seat belt. Another way to generate revenue through tickets using gestapo tactics. I might have to see if Rattler would sell me some of his land. "Governor Cuomo Signs Legislation Requiring All Motor Vehicle Passengers 16 and Older to Wear A Seat Belt" https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-signs-legislation-requiring-all-motor-vehicle-passengers-16-and-older-wear-seat
  3. That makes two of us. If Biden gets elected she will end up being president and who knows who would be her choice for vice president. Regardless of who gets elected gun rights will be under attack but with Biden and Harris in charge you can be assured that gun ownership in the US will come to an end.
  4. Beautiful bucks.....Ya don't see many like those two
  5. Do you bowhunt? DEC’s Bureau of Wildlife is seeking new participants for the New York Bowhunter Sighting Log. The program, implemented over two decades ago, is designed to provide information on long-term population trends for certain wildlife species. Because bowhunters spend so much time sitting still in the same place, they are ideal wildlife observers. Cooperators keep a record of their bowhunting activities and wildlife species seen from their stand. The data, collected annually from thousands of bowhunters, is useful for population monitoring and helps biologists make informed management decisions. For more information, please visit DEC's bowhunter sighting log webpage. Photo courtesy of Judy Guske.
  6. Took mine in a month ago and got a string and cable job. Just have to find the time to start shooting. To many projects we're trying to complete while dodging all this coronavirus crap makes things way more complicated and time consuming than they need to be. The heat and humidity is also taking it's toll
  7. Here is a link if you order from Muddy...https://shop.gomuddy.com/tree-stands/climbers-climbing-tree-stands/ I caught mine on sale at Cabela's and paid about $200. I wasn't pleased with the fact it is made in China but it has been a good stand for me, Very sturdy, comfortable, and folds up into a compact package that is not cumbersome. I also use the thirdhand straps recommended by many on here. They are almost a must for any climber and can be used to make the Muddy even easier to pack by criss crossing across the back.https://www.amazon.com/Third-Hand-Climbing-Stands-Stabilizer/dp/B00VR18IVY
  8. It only takes a couple of minutes: https://oneclickpolitics.global.ssl.fastly.net/messages/edit?promo_id=9362
  9. I am using this one....It packs really nice and is very sturdy" After a year or so I upgraded the seat with this one: https://www.amazon.com/Summit-Universal-Replacement-Treestand-Seat/dp/B074MCM14D

  11. Welcome....GPS and learn how to use it or at minimum a compass.
  12. Small with a big belly. It has a good food source of some kind.
  13. Never heard of that before. Can't imagine what would take them. Maybe suspend them with some fishing line???
  14. Sure looks like that bobcat has been eating good with it's belly hanging like it is.
  15. A good deterrent that smells good. Available at Tractor or Runnings
  16. Hunters in New York can now earn their bowhunter education certificate online. A bowhunter education certificate is required for hunters who use a bow and arrow to hunt deer or bear. All hunters must also complete a mandatory hunter education course before purchasing a hunting license. All in-person bowhunter education courses have been canceled since March due to COVID-19. The online course provides an opportunity for new archery hunters to get their required bowhunter education certificates before the fall hunting seasons begin. The online course takes about six hours to complete and is open to New York State residents age 11 and older, but only those 12 or older may purchase a hunting license. Students who successfully complete the online bowhunter education course and pass the final exam will receive their bowhunter education certificate. The cost of the course is $30. The online course will be available through August 31, 2020.
  17. Published October 1, 2006 Last Update January 13, 2015 Given the fact it was 14 yrs. ago and last updated 5 yrs. ago I would be willing to bet there would be mass rioting/demonstrations/destruction and who knows what else if it happened today.
  18. Nice catch Better than nothing. I think my chipmunk problem is over or close to it. Once I started making them try to swim my catch rate slowed down to nothing in the last two weeks. The final count up to this point is 43.
  19. Got mine today but they messed up the order and sent 4-double coil and 2 four coiled. Hopefully they will let me keep them and just remove the coils but waiting to see if they want to do an exchange.
  20. And Now They Have Been Charged ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis couple who became worldwide news after waving guns at protesters outside their Central West End home last month were charged Monday with gun crimes, despite pushback against the investigation from Jefferson City to Washington. Mark and Patricia McCloskey each face a single felony count of unlawful use of a weapon — exhibiting. Charging documents say he pointed an AR-15 rifle at protesters and she wielded a semiautomatic handgun, placing protesters in fear of injury. https://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/mccloskeys-charged-with-felonies-for-waving-guns-during-protests/article_73bfcc8c-6828-5b77-8a58-37cd10d97f4c.html
  21. He has done such a fine job in NY he is now traveling to help other states Gov. Cuomo’s visit to Georgia blasted as ‘absurd’ amid NY’s coronavirus death total Andrew Cuomo went down to Georgia Monday to advise local officials there on how to curb the coronavirus pandemic — but critics said the trip was nothing more than an ill-conceived public relations stunt given all the deaths that New York suffered. https://nypost.com/2020/07/20/gov-andrew-cuomo-visits-georgia-over-coronavirus-outbreak/ Being that Georgia is one of the "restricted" states I wonder if he will quarantine for 14 days??
  22. Trust me it not the answer I would have liked to give. All the thanks goes to King Andy and his cronies.
  23. I could care less but if you absolutely want to be legal: Magazines Q: How does the SAFE Act impact magazines? A: Since 1994, magazines sold in New York could contain up to 10 rounds. This continues to be true today. You may buy, sell, and possess any magazine that can hold up to 10 rounds, regardless of when it was manufactured. If you have a magazine that can contain more than 10 rounds, you had until January 15, 2014 to permanently modify the magazine so that it holds no more than ten rounds, responsibly discard it, transfer it to a law enforcement agency or officer, or sell it to a dealer or an out of state purchaser. Q: Can I continue to buy 10 round magazines? A: Yes, the SAFE Act does not affect your ability to continue to buy 10 round magazines. Q: Is there anything else I should be aware of? A: Hunters should remember that for many years there have been round limitations when it comes to guns used during hunting. In New York you may not hunt with a semi-automatic gun that can contain more than 6 rounds unless it uses .22 or .17 caliber rimfire ammunition, is an autoloading pistol with a barrel length of less than eight inches, or has been altered to reduce its capacity to no more than 6 rounds in the magazine and chamber combined. https://safeact.ny.gov/resources-gun-owners
