Been hearing guys calling a LOT to birds on the roost where I hunt.... just frustrating to hear... Birds are all screwed up now.... Glad to see people asking here and not "assuming" they know... Gman is spot on...

Well. Long story. Lol. Started at Plan A, got to Plan F before I was done. Nothing close to me on the roost. Finally found 2 Long Beards in a bowl but boy were they call shy. Plan E I set up across a field from them, Avian X decoy out. They gobbled but never moved. Swung all the way around them, got below them about 100 yards. Set up in the rain. They still wouldn't leave that bowl. Saw 6 jakes across a road, probably 600 yds away. They gobbled at me every time. Sure enough they cross a road and walk right to me. Unreal! These were the 23 Jakes I've called into gun range this year. I usually dont shoot them so I let them go. Well don't they see something and start alarm putting as they head right for the LB's!!!! WTF!!! Everything goes quiet. I call. Nothing. Now I'm ticked! I text Sandra Pirog saying "I'm shooting the next Jake twice!!!!" Lol. I call. Nothing. I look to my left and at a dead run to me here comes the 2 LB's, white heads, beards swinging. I'm left handed. My muzzle is 180 degrees from them. I wait till they get 20 yards and start yelping as I swing my gun. The two birds split, one goes to the right. Red dot finds him at 42 yds and BOOM! Game over!!!! 1 1/8" spurs 10 1/2" beard. Scale says 18lbs but felt heavier. Good 3 year old!

I've talked to a lot of people about him, consensus is well over 500 lbs.... I have a pick of me standing there, I'm not small by any means and he dwarfs me...

I love my Masterbuilt Electric.... See my post I just put up.... Easy to work so it gets you into smoking without having to be an expert...

Took venison breakfast sausage, mixed it with melted Velveeta cheese and Salsa, then stuffed that into Jalapeno pepper halves, wrapped that with a slice of bacon the put it in the smoker for two hours with apple wood at 230 degrees.. Came out slap yo momma good...

A friend didn't buy his muzzle loader permit yet... didn't fill his bow tag... can he hunt during the BP dates with his bow on that permit or does he need to buy a BP permit???
-
"Killing males"???? Really.... Most people call them Bucks.... and in no way is it a bad idea... Ever....
-
Lone Wolf is the best out there....
-
Walnut mantle, friend of mine made it... 70" X 11" X 3" with live edge..
-
Here's how you stop it.... Suspend a target, chest high.... Have a spotter with you... Draw... Anchor.... settle the bow in... All with your eyes closed.... Have the spotter verify that you will hit the bag target..... Squeeze the shot off... do this every day as a practice ...... Should stop a lot of "bad habits"... You learn about your form.... know when it not only looks right, but feels right...

ps.. I think it is a BS law...
-
The law states sunrise to sunset... if you go early or stay hunting later.... you are at risk... just saying...
