I find it very revealing the political side that preaches so much love of "tolerance" regarding so many things that are really the antithesis of American lifestyle and history, has such a virile hatred of Trump, Conservatives and traditional values. Just look at their current venomous vitriol being spewed at Firearms, the 2nd Amendment and hunters. This isn't normal or healthy. There is surely some mental illness in this level of contempt. At the very least, it's childish and immature. Conservatives despised Obama and attacked his political decisions and executive actions because they felt they were illegal, unconstitutional, and Leftist, but I never saw anyone holding his severed head, or calling for his death by assassination. I don't see where any of their hatred for Trump, or people who voted for him, is even remotely justified. Blind hatred is evil and people who have it go to great lengths to justify it so they can live with themselves. No President has ever been loved by all Americans, but the half of America that is insanely resisting everything they don't agree with, is a level of lunacy this country has not seen before.

Remington isn't the only firearm company to leave NY, and they're all moving out in the same time period. Kahr firearms moved to PA right after the SAFE Act was forced on us. Kimber is getting out of Yonkers too. Cuomo was very adamant about them not being wanted in NY. When you consider the number of jobs lost and the economic impact of these losses, people should be screaming at Cuomo for his arrogance and stupidity. But they aren't. They allow it to be rammed up their wazoo. NY has a very unfriendly business climate for all businesses. It's as if they want the economy to tank and get all of the citizens dependent on government handouts. When the people of any state are willing to let leftist, anti-business, anti-gun politicians ruin their state with progressive ideology, they better be willing to accept the economic decline that will follow. Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, Buffalo, Albany, Trenton and Philadelphia are all prime examples people should look to when Democrats start preaching about their "Hope & Change". Their most loyal voting base is comprised of people living off government assistance. Too bad they can't understand the handouts come from the party that put them on handouts. Any firearm manufacturer that remains in NY state deserves to go out of business.

Eagles at coyote bait piles?
Rattler replied to Curmudgeon's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Maybe the eagles are eating the deer carcasses the coyotes provide. I have been seeing quite a few on the Delaware near Hamden and Delhi now that it's no longer frozen. Good fishing now I suppose. -
New Gun Laws In The Works
Rattler replied to Steve D's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
This is just the beginning of the BS the anti gun crowd plans to implement. And when you are denied a new gun for any of these made up rules, you not only get denied the new gun, you soon receive a letter telling you to turn in all of your firearms. That's why the state had you register them. -

The negative effects of lots of illegal drug use during the 1960's. -
I believe the future will be a big shock to these kids. Today they protest against the 2nd Amendment, while ignoring real solutions or personal consequences for a criminal. Of course they have a right to do that. But they are going to be shocked when they accomplish they're goal of restricting an individual right, only to find that all of their own individual rights, including the right to protest, is severely infringed in the future. To use an old worn out adage, It's a slippery slope.

There's a big push to ban bump stocks and semi-auto rifles after the fact, yet until these questions are answered, it seems as if the government is lying to us and not letting a huge crises go to waste regarding their anti 2nd Amendment agenda. Is it possible the government is hiding the terrorist threat we are living with right now? If they are, isn't taking away AR's the last thing they should be doing? If these questions don't make you start to think about the possibilities, you are in denial. https://conservativetribune.com/fed-up-vegas-native-asks-20-questions-about-mgm-shooting-nobody-will-answer/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=westernjournalism&utm_content=2018-03-13&utm_campaign=manualpost

I own 30 connected to my friend's 350. So I hunt it all. All woods with a trout stream running through it. I walk right out my back door every day I hunt deer. Sometimes my vehicle never moves for the entire first week of deer season. I live here. Took me 50 years to accomplish this dream.

I do not understand how this country has not standardized the age of adulthood already. Legally, an adult must be a certain age. It's either 18 or 21 in this land. Isn't that age discrimination? How can one be considered legally able to sign contracts, vote, join the military or get the death penalty at 18, yet not be able to drink a beer? So stupid it's crazy.

Just because the politicians overrule the wildlife biologists doesn't mean we don't have the science. It just means politicians don't adhere to it.

Ted Nugent proves .......
Rattler replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Anyone who believes the gun banners don't already know what Ted is saying here is deluding themself. They know full well what shotguns can do. But they don't want all of the shotgun owners getting up in arms (no pun intended) about losing their semis and pumps at this point. First they ban the semi auto "military" type guns, then they ban ALL semi auto rifles, then they come for ALL semi auto firearms that are left, including handguns, then they come for the pump actions, then they come for the lever actions. It's all been planned a long time ago. It's an agenda. Whoever called Ted an idiot has probably never seen the man in a debate with gun banners. The man is an expert on the 2nd Amendment, the Constitution and our representative form of government. He can hold his own with the best the antis can throw at him. He just likes to use a sledgehammer to make sure the point is driven home with extreme prejudice. Some don't like that style, some do. But it sure as hell is effective in getting his word out there. The antis can't resist airing everything he says, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. One thing Ted didn't show in that video is how easily you can shoot 30 rounds out of a shotgun, especially a pump gun, by simply shooting till empty, opening the bolt, reaching in your right pocket, grabbing a round and putting it in the empty loading port, slamming the bolt home and pulling the trigger. Then just keep repeating that sequence until you are out of ammo. If you don't think that can be very fast, try it sometime. -

Open minded, intelligent people can look past the messenger and still see the message. It matters not who says it, if it is truth. -
Ted Nugent proves .......
Rattler replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Maybe this information will prove to the people who don't own, or support AR-15 ownership, that the anti-gun loons will not stop with black guns if they succeed with their desire to ban them. All semis and pumps, long gun and handgun, will be next on the "ban wagon". This model is what Australia did and the American antis are simply following what worked there. They are not too clever or imaginative, but they are determined. Like Ted said, we need 50 Million NRA members to turn this bull shot around. -
I find one thing about all of the latest crazy shootings very interesting. When the Columbine shooting occurred, there was video of the perps as they did it. And that was many years ago. How is it, in this day of video coverage of everything that happens anywhere, we see no video of Parkland, or Vegas, or Sandy Hook? I find this to be very strange.
-
Why do all of these shootings have so many unanswered questions? Why are there no pictures or videos of the shooter in action when kids video everything on smart phones these days? Why isn't the public demanding answers to these questions? Why are they demanding "gun control" when they don't demand any of the prior things? Do people really think this stuff can't happen in America?

IMHO, this thread is discussing details that are irrelevant to the proper solution. #1. There should be armed security at schools that is in no way affiliated with the local school system, so it cannot be corrupted by local politics. Perhaps they should be federal employees, such as National Guard, veterans or retired federal officers, that will not be involved in any of the teacher's union demands, or local school board's antics, or even the state's, thereby keeping them focused on protecting the kids. The money to pay for these federal employees should be transfered from other areas of the federal budget that prove to be wasteful, ill advised or unnecessary. #2. No teacher should be required to be any type of security against an active shooter. They must volunteer to be part of it, volunteer to be armed if they want to be, and be certified as part of the defense network. They must also be required to possess whatever qualifications the armed security force deems necessary to be part of the defense network. They don't get to be part of the network without meeting this criteria. #3. Any mass gathering of citizens, for any reason, should be required to provide the same security that would be required for schools. Federal employees of the type outlined above, and paid for by the venue's promoters. Additionally, no properly licensed concealed carrier would be denied their right to carry while attending any such event. #4. Having a fear one of these people, be they armed security, concealed carrier or security certified teacher, will do something "stupid", is unfounded, because they basically fall under the same legal rules as any concealed carrier. They will know when deadly force is justified and when it isn't. Looking at the stats for concealed carriers throughout the US, proves they are the least "stupid" of any armed group in the country today, having the fewest unjustified shootings. This is a system that should be immediately implemented to put a stop to this problem. I will not accept any further restriction on 2nd Amendment rights until it has been properly implement and proves to be ineffective. It is highly unlikely it wouldn't be effective. I would hope all Americans who cherish the freedoms we have always had, would also support this solution and stand against any government restriction on rights that had nothing to do with the problem. Anyone who calls for the government to decide how to fix this problem, is taking the decision out of the hands of the people and putting it in the hands of big government, which has every motive to corrupt the solution to benefit itself at the people's expense. We should be demanding the government do as we say, to fix the problem, not asking it to tell us what we should do.

The battle,over gun rights
Rattler replied to Nomad's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
No, what I'm saying is with fewer firearms, you get fewer mass shootings, not less violent crime in total. I would think that connection would be obvious, but people seem to like to compare Europe to the US trying to make a point. That is not to say they have fewer mass killings, murders or less violent crime, just less mass shootings. Unless people compare the totality of one country's political system to another country's, they are cherry picking information, which often doesn't give the whole picture. Unless they are willing to live under a European country's entire social and cultural norms and mores, they shouldn't try to compare them to the US. And don't forget the anti-gun side is advocating restricting all sorts of freedoms to attain their utopian goals. Just like much of Europe has done. Does any America think that is a good argument? -
The battle,over gun rights
Rattler replied to Nomad's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Perhaps it is because they are not free people and haven't got the means to carry out mass killings like people who have freedom of choice do. In a socialist environment, you're free to do whatever the government let's you do. That is the incessant creep of Progressive Socialism. That isn't to say banning freedom is the answer to violence. I would much rather live in a free society with all it's risks, than live in a dull environment that lacks liberty and the pursuit of happiness in the name of government controlled security. -
The battle,over gun rights
Rattler replied to Nomad's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
For all of you who won't join the NRA, there is strength in numbers. If every gun owner was an NRA member and the membership was 50 million instead of 5 million, I guarantee we would not be seeing the kind 2nd Amendment attacks we see now. And because so many gun owners are not NRA members, the anti's can claim most of them do not support the 2nd Amendment. Perhaps they are right about that. If you think allowing the government to ban AR's will stop school shootings, you are in denial. If you think they won't come after other guns afterwards, you are in denial. Don't you remember when handguns were the tool of Satan and needed to be banned? That will be where the anti's go next. If you don't think the authorities can confiscate what they ban, you need to realize they are already trying (and succeeding). They have registration, NICS data, laws that criminalize a man for nothing other than violation of a gun law, which can deny you your right to own a gun, and the ability to come after individuals without breaking down the door of their home. And you can expect those efforts to intensify as the years go by. If you are a gun owner today, you are the #1 target of Leftists, Socialists, Democrats and cowardly sheep. You have been painted as the devil incarnate in the US today. No amount of compromise, appeasement or apology is going to change it. Debating these people and refuting their views with facts will not work, because they are not being rational and acting like rabid wolves that smell blood. The only thing that will work is having ALL gun owners unite as a single unit that sends the same message and tells the anti's we will not comply! And we will not comply because we are NOT the problem, attacking us will not solve the problem and we will not be made to suffer the consequences that should be applied to criminals and murderers. There is currently only one way this can be effectively accomplished in this country. All gun owners MUST unite under one name and speak with one voice, showing this country we have the numbers to prevail. The only name that currently exists that will be able to make this happen is the NRA! If you are not an NRA member, don't support their message or contradict their goals, you are not in this fight, are helping the opposition, and you can best serve the cause by staying out of it entirely. Proud Life Member of the NRA since 1980 and tired of all the gun owners who think they know better than the oldest civil rights org in the land, the premier defender of the ENTIRE US Constitution and Bill of Rights and the only US org that is actually succeeding in restoring 2nd Amendment rights in America. (And they could do a lot more if they had 50 million committed members!) The above information is what goes through my mind whenever I speak to a gun owner who is not an NRA member. Often I speak this truth to their face. If they decide not to join after I tell them this, I see no reason to hunt or shoot with them anymore. I just feel sorry for them from that point on. Because one day, they will be wishing they could trade all the days for the rest of their lives, for a chance to go back and be part of the fight.
