First off, read the article yourself. The guy is suing because he claims he was trying to get away when he was shot. In my prior post, I said that could get you sued. Secondly, he is currently suing. He has not won anything at this point. I'm betting he will not win the case either. Nothing in this article, or your post, contradicts what I posted above. It does not make the point that you can be sued, and will lose, if someone gets hurt while breaking into you home, or stealing your property. You cannot win a lawsuit if you get injured in the process of committing a crime. If someone is caught committing a crime, and tries to escape from his captor without posing a threat to the captor, and the captor injures him with malice aforethought, the captor can be sued. It's that simple.

There may be cases, but they won't win. You can not sue for injury, in any state, while you were in the process of committing a crime. A homeowner can only be sued for shooting or harming someone when they stopped trying to commit a crime and tried to flee. Otherwise people would be breaking into homes and hurting themselves for a living.

Actually, many troops come home with a good deal of hearing loss, and the longer you stay in the military, the more likely you will have it.

I got my first hunting license in October of 1970. Even though those prices seem low, the dollar was worth a lot more back then. About 5 times more than it's worth today. So multiply those prices by 5 and that's the amount of discretionary income it was costing people at the time. I know, because I bought a Mossberg $500 in 1970 for $80 and was only earning $2.10 per hour at the time. That's was a week's take home pay for me then. One good thing about buying firearms though. They tend to increase in value as the value of the dollar drops, so you really should never lose money on a firearm when you sell it if it's not abused and maintained well.

Just about every SUNY school around here. Do a check and see how many students at SUNY schools have an average lower than 2.5 GPA and get back to me.

Go to any of the Sheriff's offices, in any of the Catskill counties and ask for info on crimes committed by downstate students who attend any of their SUNY campuses. These kids are burdening residents of this area with tons of expense for law enforcement manpower. They contribute nothing to the area while they're here and we look forward to any college break where they go home for awhile. It's not a delusion, it's a reality, of which you seem to have an avoidance issue.

Today a 2.5 GPA is handed out to every student as a reward for just coming to class. Tests, if they are even given, are not used to affect the final grade unless they earn the student a higher one. A lot of upstate folks are of the opinion this proposal is a way to get troubled kids out of the city and put them upstate in community college. Of course, they bring trouble with them and it becomes an upstate problem. So, we will pay higher taxes to the state AND the local tax office, which will have to absorb the cost of dealing with the trouble.

I would think the latest election would indicate gun control is a losing agenda for a candidate, at any level of federal office, and being extreme enough to go against knives would surely indicate a fanatic, with regard to rights violations. The "free" college agenda will be thoroughly trashed as wasteful wealth re-distribution and socialist too. Cuomo is showing what a moron he really is, not that many ever thought he wasn't.

Government has no money that it hasn't taken from taxpayers. Taxpayers absorb the cost of anything the government claims is "free". We will pay the costs. It also needs to be known that anything free is often perceived as worthless. Many students will just go to college to avoid getting a job. Do they require a "C" or better grade point average to continue, or can kids, and even adults, attend for 10 years without graduating? Will they get food stamps, welfare and other taxpayer funded benefits at the same time? Will those who don't qualify for "free" tuition get gouged to cover the cost of those who need not pay? Will colleges inflate grades for these students to keep the money flowing in? Will employers consider a county college education to be worth anything in the future when anyone can get one for free? WHAT IS TO BE GAINED FROM THIS PROPOSAL? Is it just a way to get taxpayers to absorb the cost of political indoctrination of the state's youth, so in the future they will vote for the hand that fed them? Considering what colleges today are doing to our youth, that seems to be the most logical explanation.

Here is an unbiased truthful view to the Syrian refugee situation. My first deployment to Iraq, in 2006, my unit voluntarily ran a childrens burn clinic outside of the FOB. It was a constant target for attacks. You would think that people wouldn't shoot mortars or rockets at their own children, but you would be wrong. We saw hundreds of children, from infants to 18 year olds. The overwhelming majority of the kids we saw (90% or better) were clear cases of abuse. These parents were literally dunking their kids in boiling water, or throwing hot chai at their kids faces... Yes, we're talking about babies, toddlers, kids not even old enough to understand why their parents would do these things to them. HUNDREDS of kids... We saw quite a few of these kids that were sexually abused, both girls and boys. Their parents acted if nothing was wrong with this, even when confronted by our doctors. This is the mentality of their society, not the viewpoint of a few individuals... these beliefs have been accepted to the vast majority of these people. Many were educated, well dressed, well spoken men, but yet, they still raped their own children, and kept chai boys (if you don't know what that means, google it.) During that deployment, we also captured the 3rd largest EFP cache that had ever been captured. There were hundreds of copper plates, homemade explosives, fake curbs to house the EFP's, hundreds of mortars and rockets and howitzer rounds, even an anti-aircraft gun. All of these things came from one place, Syria. Almost every single IED or EFP we found or hit could be traced back to Syria... A lot of the terrorists we captured were from SYRIA... Imagine that. Fast forward a couple years, and I find myself in Helmand Province, in Afghanistan... We heard him being sexually assaulted many times, but there was nothing we could do about it. We asked the police, the Afghan Army, and we were told the same thing every time.... it's their culture, and accepted as the norm.... Once again, we captured Syrian made explosives, weapons, and other items... We found Syrian passports during raids... And people out there want us to let these people into the US, with our kids, and near our wives. Near our schools, near our churches, synogogues, malls. Places where we should never have to fear being blown up, shot, kidnapped and tortured... Don't forget what they did to the Egyptian Coptic Christians, or the Jordanian pilot... Don't forget about what they do to rape victims! They stone these women to death for being raped! They behead their own people. Do you think they will show mercy to you?
