What would you do if this happened to you ?
Rattler replied to Hunter007's topic in General Chit Chat
Only cowards spit on people without first confronting them face to face. If I could identify who did it, I'd be in their face in a flash and putting a major hurt on them with some real dirty moves. -
Did anyone else mount their quiver with the arrows pointing down?

There, I fixed it for ya. -
Did anyone else mount their quiver with the arrows pointing down?
Rattler replied to BowmanMike's topic in Bow Hunting
Years ago, when people first started putting quivers on bows, the broad heads were covered by a snap on hood. The hood could be removed from the arrows when they were still in the quiver. Having the broad heads pointing down was a recipe for disaster as they could easily pierce anything they had the occasion to jab into. It was considered safer to have them pointing up to prevent most injuries. Apparently, it was a common problem. I believe today's attached quivers simply followed that rule. It also seems to be easier for most archers to nock them when they are grabbed with the broad head up. Today there is a lot more flexibility with quivers, but when recurves were the norm, quivers were mounted with broad heads pointing up in at least 90% of the cases. The big decision then, was whether to mount the quiver with the arrows on the string side of the bow, or sticking out past the front of the bow. String side was always preferred for it's compact quality, but sometimes the arrows, or the protective hood, would not fit without hitting the limbs. -
I thought the title said Red Heads.

Going to use something a little different this season

What does your's weigh? -
If the cost of the rifle is high because it's pretty, I'd agree few will hunt with them in adverse conditions. However, my Kimber rifles go for $1500 or more and may carry a scope worth $500. The cost of these rifles is high because they are light, have stainless steel barreled actions and stocks made of Kevlar composite. They are made to shrug off being dragged through brush or carried in the most adverse conditions. Add to that the quality trigger, match chambering and match accurate air gauged barrel, and you see why they cost so much. But in this case the cost produces a very accurate, effective, element resisting hunting rifle, that you want to carry in the worst weather.

So in order to be legal, the mag is pinned and cannot be removed from the rifle? And that's all that's required, right? -
Sure, the state isn't about to pass up the sales tax collected on these things. I'm sure it's also happy to collect the fines if you get caught using them.

How much does it weigh? -
Just because something isn't legal to hunt with in the God Forsaken state of NY, doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to sell it. You can still use it on targets or out of state. I encourage the sale of these crossbows in NY. It will get more people to ask why you can't hunt with them.

People need to remember these are wild animals, not docile domestic pets put there for their entertainment. Notice how people just walk away rather than trying to help.

Yes they are, but 42's are big for deer hunting IMHO. I prefer 8x32 or 7x32. If you get 10x42 you only get about 4.2 in the eye.

I'd also look into the Bushnell PermaFocus Binocs. They need no focus adjustment. I have a pair of the old 7x35's and they work great for deer hunting. https://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-171043-PermaFocus-Binoculars-Focus-Free/dp/B00C2GKVFO/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5rbsBRCFARIsAGEYRwe7LGNNTeUMrhRa4WJXA0trqmzW6IiFYdL1L77aeRJ6GlTtBdBpGukaAkmrEALw_wcB&hvadid=177255138622&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9005379&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1o2&hvqmt=b&hvrand=4353742559720119778&hvtargid=kwd-39950653&hydadcr=18502_9834282&keywords=bushnell+permafocus+binoculars&qid=1569595377&sr=8-6

You want at least 4. To get 5 you usually are looking at big, heavy binocs.

Look into Styrka. Great glass for the money, free yearly maintenance and full warranty. A nice compact lightweight pair of 8x32's will work well in the whitetail woods. https://www.amazon.com/Styrka-8x32-Binocular-Green-ST-35500/dp/B00XQ3JIJC/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=styrka+s3+binoculars&qid=1569594679&s=electronics&sr=1-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySExXSFE3V1gzMjdTJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODc1MjQyM1E2NUZWVzQ2U1EyNyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODQ0OTY3OVhLTEtSTFRYWDdWJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

The boy who cried wolf

The believers suffer from a psychosis and hate everything about Trump. This makes them believe anything their leftist handlers tell them to believe. They think all truth about Trump is a lie, because that's what they're told to think.- 1 reply

Only $199,000? Seems to me it would've sold for much more on the open market. I guess the govt doesn't need the money since they have an unlimited source of income from taxpayers.

Taxpayers will be better off too. They won't be paying for a live in girlfriend anymore. Never understood why that happened. There certainly isn't any legal precedent for taxpayers to support the Governor's lover.
