Ten Worst Americans
Rattler replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
All of the people responsible for the current BS impeachment are members of the same rotten barrel of leftists. Sadly, every elected Democrat in DC today seems to be under the control of the most dangerous leftists. That party is no longer working for the best interests of US citizens. They do not vote for what's best for America. they vote what is best for keeping them in power so they can continue to ruin this country. -
Very timely article for this thread.... https://www.nrafamily.org/articles/2020/1/12/4-hunting-dogs-perfect-for-families/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=insider&utm_campaign=0120

What many do not realize is, Iraq fought a war with Iran for about a decade prior to the Kuwait invasion. Iraq agreed to fight Iran as a proxy for Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Those countries agreed to finance Iraq's war expenses. Kuwait reneged on their debt and refused to pay Iraq even after they were threatened with military force to collect it. Iraq, after exhausting all diplomatic options with regard to the payment, decided to invade Kuwait and take over it's oil fields in retaliation. The US government, being a Kuwait ally, sided with Kuwait and used the US armed forces to run Saddam Hussein out of the oil fields and back to Iraq. Worried about a vacuum in the Iraq power structure, with a possible rise in terrorists expected, the US government stopped it's pursuit and let Hussein be in the end. Not long after, Osama Bin Laden, being pissed the US government put troops on "sacred" Saudi soil during the Iraq war, implemented the 9/11 attacks against the US. Consequently, troops were sent to Afghanistan to fight the terrorists operating there, in order to prevent future attacks. It was during that operation, the US government claimed Iraq was also involved with the terrorists and possessed "weapons of mass destruction". Consequently, the US government deployed troops to Iraq again to find and kill Hussein. No weapons of mass destruction were ever found, but evidence indicates they may have been moved to Syria prior to US troops returning to Iraq. So, when you think about it, all of the brave, patriotic US fighting men who did their duty to the point of dying, fighting like true warriors and deserving all of our respect, plus all of the civilians and firefighters who died on 9/11, were involved in conflicts that could have been avoided if the US government simply told Kuwait to pay Iraq what it owed them. Why didn't the US government do that? The government doesn't always tell the truth about it's goals. The government is not your friend.

How do I remove the butt stock? Rem. 1100
Rattler replied to Curmudgeon's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Deal directly with Limbsaver and it will be done right away. Remington will not be as responsive. I think it google's up as Simms Vibration Laboratories. -

From a forum that dealt with this pad issue in the past. "Remington is not interested in my recoil pad, I did find the name, Limbsaver on it, so I sent them an e-mail, I got a quick response, they said they were aware of the problem, it was a bad shipment of rubber they received from their supplier, and they are sending me a new one. Now that is customer service done right." -

The maker of those recoil pads had a problem with them and will replace it for free if you contact them and let them know you have that problem. I did it with my SPS a few years back. They had a bad mix in the rubber then. The new one doesn't melt. -
I was turkey hunting with my camo Mossberg 835 and put it down on the forest floor while looking for a spot to build a ground blind. I wasn't 15 yards from it, but couldn't see it. It took me at least 2 minutes to find it and it was already light at the time.

I think he's saying no round fed from the mag into the chamber.

Don't have a dog right now, but the best bird dog I ever owned was a Hungarian Vizsla. They also make great pets, well mannered and intelligent. Pretty dog too!

The rifle was found in 2014 and has had it's manufacture date determined. There is no way of knowing how long it has been out there against the tree however. Nobody knows how it got there, or what is the story behind it's travels, so it will just remain a curio and relic with an interesting origin. The rifle was loaded when found. My guess is, some old timer carrying it in the early 1900's or so, put it down for some reason, and suffering from dementia or "old timers" disease, forgot where he left it.

I use a bolt action rifle and can easily see the first round feeding into the chamber, even in the dark. Using a semi-auto in the dark, I like to load the first round directly into the chamber by hand, then install the mag in the rifle. This way I know I will at least get one shot off if the mag hangs up. However, this often helps a questionable mag function properly. I can't say anything about a semi-auto with an internal box mag, having no experience with them. If I were to use one, I would still prefer to load the first round directly into the chamber while holding the rest down in the mag when closing the bolt.

My three offspring are grown now and they all live in different states. The two grandchildren are 4 hours away. I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers with lots of nieces and nephews all over the country. I have cousins spread around this land too. Still have a couple of uncles and aunts around as well. Facebook is the best way to keep up with everyone's life events and see current pictures. If you just stick to family on there, you won't have problems and it keeps everyone in touch. It's also quick and easy to send messages or forward information. I use it. It's not a problem for me.

I occasionally hunt with a customized 7.7 Jap Arisaka and a custom M1 Carbine. The Jap had already been modified when I got it and I finished it the way it deserved to be finished. I hand load 150 grain boat tail bullets @ 2500 fps for it. It's very accurate, but could use a Timney trigger to really get the most from it. It sports a 2x7 Leupold scope. The M1 is a Plainfield Machine version made in the 1960's for sale to law enforcement or civilians, so there is no military collector value in it. It's a nice light, moderately powerful, short range hunting rifle that is a joy to hunt with. Both retain the best aspects of their military heritage, but are more suited to the hunting fields now.

I got to thinking about this idea there is something wrong with a coyote competition. How does that make any sense? When you consider all of the competitive aspects of big game hunting and fishing, where everything is scored and entered into record books, how is a coyote hunting competition abnormal? Coyote hunt winners are determined by the weight of the yote. Fishing records are determined by the weight of the fish. Big game is scored based on the size of the antlers, horns or skull. The bigger the animal, the better the skill set of the hunter that bagged it. Why would taking the largest coyote, which would be the most productive predator in the yote world, be considered wrong? The idea is to get people into the woods to control the population of these predators. Hunting yotes at this time of year is not for weak kneed, man bun wearing, mocha latte drinkers. It's friggin' cold out there, especially in the dark, and there's a lot of money, work and skill involved in it. Competitions highlight who has the skill, drive, determination, will power and stamina to win. There is no shame in a coyote hunting competition. These animals may appear to be friendly, lovable, family pets, but anyone who thinks they are, has no clue what vicious predators they are, the trouble they can cause when they become too numerous, and no business passing judgement on something they know nothing about. Lord help the granola cruncher that gets in my face and calls me a cowardly coyote hunter. They're gonna be leaving with their own blood stains. -

Mitchell, I'll bet you love abortion and donate to Planned Parenthood. Take your judgemental self righteous attitude and shove it. Cowards? Many are cops, firefighters, military, corrections, members of society's elite, astronauts, Presidents, Senators, Congressman, Governors, Mayors and entrepreneurs. Hardly people who live in fear. You don't know anything about hunting, yet post on here like you're an expert on the subject. You've been fed a lot of hate by those who have a totalitarian hatred for people they can't control. Because you cannot think for yourself and stand up to your handlers, you are the real coward. To take pleasure in the death of an individual because he happened to be hunting is a sickness that requires professional help. You really are a sick and twisted soul that is wallowing in a self serving sense of moral superiority that doesn't exist. But, I'm sure you need some sense of purpose in your life, because you probably don't have anything else to stand on. -
You made the right decision Huey. Get rid of the stress and relax. Hunt and fish more. It will make you feel young. Someone once told me, "You're only as young as the woman you feel." Maybe that's why I still feel like I'm only 40.
-
Welcome sonny! You're 56 and you call yourself old? Age is just a number. I was in fourth grade when you were born and I don't feel old. God does not subtract from your allotted hours, those spent afield hunting and fishing. I guess that's why I still feel like I'm only 40. (Living the last 30 years without acquiring a 2nd wife probably helps too.)

This is true grampy. But not all of the haters make it as obvious as that fool did. Many prefer incremental incursions against our past time, with the goal of eventually putting a stop to all of it. United we stand is correct. Any attacks by hunters against any hunting done by other hunters, makes the haters very happy. As long as the method is legal, there should not be any criticism about the method. As long as the game hunted is legal, there should not be any criticism of those who hunt that game. As long as the instrument used for hunting is legal, there should be no criticism of those who use that instrument for hunting. The "holier than thou" attitude is quite common among hunters and it is not good for the long term survival of hunting as a great pastime. -

Above post reported. The sooner this psycho is removed from the forums, the better. Obviously deranged and impotent. -
The definition of selling out is taking money for your endorsement. If he chose to change ammo without financial gain, his opinion on the ammo would still have integrity. It's not that he isn't liked. It's that he is a salesman, and everyone should have a healthy suspicion of salesmen. If you're buying what he's selling, that's fine for you. But when talking to a salesman, let the buyer beware. Knowing his show is all about selling his sponsor's wares, makes his expert opinion less valuable IMHO.
