When you pass yourself off as an expert, the tools you use are the one's that meet your specs. If you switch tools, you're saying you were wrong about your choice. Your expertise comes into question, especially when you are swayed by money. Your integrity is suspect. In the old days, people like Elmer Keith, Jack O'Conner and Col. Townsend Whelen didn't sell their souls for profit. They stood by their choices with conviction and maintained their integrity against all critics and sponsors. Those are the types of experts people respect and remember long after they're gone. Going for the money just puts you in the sales category.

Nosler makes great bullets. Hornady does as well. Hornady just has more cash to offer Shockey to pimp their wares. The man has no brand loyalty.

These new Pythons are improved versions of the old Pythons. I'd much rather have one of these new ones than one of the old ones. The old ones are for collectors. The new ones are for shooters that will use them. That's me. IMHO @ $1500 MSRP, which may mean an over the counter price of about $1300 soon, it's a bargain. I love revolvers and have 4 currently, from .22 to .45. I'll be buying one in the near future.

The church has volunteers for security. Anyone with a permit to carry is allowed to volunteer for security detail. They are not paid and are really just regular people who want to help, much like ushers in a church. I find it maddening the mass media is doing very little reporting on this case. Probably because they do not want the public to realize the truth about the "good guy with a gun" narrative. The media has been saying the idea good people with guns are the solution to mass shootings, is a myth. This video evidence proves otherwise, therefore it will not be widely aired on any of this nation's leftist progressive Marxist totalitarian news programs. They don't want the public exposed to the truth. They want the propaganda to control the issue. Even local authorities are being tight lipped about the shooter and his motive. Seems who ever is in control of authorities there also wants to prevent the truth from getting out, as well as keep the "good guy with a gun" narrative out of the public's eye. It's a disgrace that people who want to protect themselves in these crazy times, are required to ask the government for permission to do so. It's more of a disgrace when responsible gun owners have their requests denied, or taxed, or granted only after overcoming huge obstacles the government puts in their way to discourage their desire to protect themselves. Unless you have been convicted of a crime at the felony level, that prevents you from carrying a weapon, you should be able to carry your firearm with you at all times without any permit, of any kind, issued from any government bureaucracy. That's how rights work. That's real freedom. (Ever notice how BUREAUCRACY seems to have been derived from Bureau Crazy?)

See if you can find a private landowner with a bear problem in Northwestern NJ. The moron of a Governor in NJ has banned bear hunting in the state on all but private land. The black bear numbers are climbing fast there and many landowners have issues with them. I wouldn't be surprised if they offered to pay you to hunt bear on their land. NJ has some huge black bear. It probably has the highest success rate per permit too.

I have an older Savage 212 bolt action rifled slug gun. It's a 12 gauge in camo with a Nikon 2x7 scope on it. I use it in shotgun only areas, but haven't been to one in a couple of years. it's very accurate and has a good trigger, but it has quite a bit of felt recoil, unless you're shooting it at a nice deer or bear. It takes 3" mag ammo too, which I use infrequently. Never seemed to need it. Many deer and one 300 lb black bear have been killed with it. It likes Lightfield Hybred Sabots the best.

It's pretty easy to check the condition on a .22 barrel. If you don't see sharp lands and grooves it has had a lot of rounds through it and hasn't been properly maintained. Most often the barrel is not "shot out". Ammo for a .22 LR is not hot enough, or fast enough, to remove the rifling in the bore. The trouble is cause by the rifling filling up with lead. Almost any .22 LR barrel can be brought back to life by removing the lead buildup in the bore. It's not an easy process and requires time and effort, but the barrel can be cleaned, without a lot of expense, and the accuracy will return.

After thinking about it, I realize Jimmy Carter was a Democrat and a good Christian, but he was a horrible POTUS. So maybe we shouldn't want a good Christian as our President.

200 Evangelical leaders have since denounced CT's partisan attack on Trump. Leftist media is not reporting it because it goes against their partisan narrative. Could they point to any POTUS of either party that would be considered a "good" Christian? If so, I'm sure it would not be a Democrat.

Many newer guns are worth a lot. Meaning they cost a lot. But when you're talking Beretta, Merkel, CSMC and the like, you're talking big bucks. Cutting costs to make guns is what has made them crappy.

You will find plenty on www.gunbroker.com. Just find an FFL that will accept delivery of the gun you buy.

Their population runs in cycles. Nobody really knows why. The cycle is on the downward side right now. Still enough around to make hunting worthwhile, but you need to know what they're feeding on to find them.

I hunt everything there is, until the seasons close. Right now coyote and grouse are my targets. Grouse in the early afternoon and yotes in the evening. If the weather is nice and sunny, I'll hunt squirrel too. There are few rabbit around here. Crow are taken as targets of opportunity.
