  1. Hang in there turkeyfeathers. Good things come to those who wait.
  2. I think I'm over hunting my area. I'll give it a rest and be back before the 31st. I've only seen 1 hen this year but lots of jakes.
  3. Chased a Tom for a couple of hours this morning. He was on the other side of a little knoll and didn't present a shot. He double and triple gobbled and wanted me (hen) to follow him. After a while , he finally walked off gobbling . I guess it was his way or the highway.
  4. The wife just texted me this from up the street. #%^#@&^!!
  5. I was lucky enough to call in 6 Jakes this morning to my decoy. I slowly removed my glove and reached into my pants pocket to get my iPhone. At one point they were all within 10' of me before meandering off. Hopefully they make it to next spring.
  6. Cut this track this morning while turkey hunting ( not the tire track). I'm 99.9% sure what kind of critter made it. I would appreciate it if the membership would confirm it for me . I know it's not a mountain lion or a bigfoot. Lol The shot shell measures 3". (Federal 3 1/2" # 6's). THANKS !
  7. My Ruger M77 - Mark II bolt action 30.06 with a Leupold 3-9x40 scope. Never killed anything with it other than a black bear.
  8. I can get away with more movement deer hunting than I ever could turkey hunting.
  9. To those who dont spring turkey hunt.......you don't know what your missing. It's a blast literally and figuratively.
  10. You said it Chris B and congrats on your turkey this morning !
  11. I love deer hunting as much as spring turkey hunting. However , when it comes down to excitement , spring turkey hunting can't be beat. For those few minutes when that gobbler appears and starts heading towards my decoys , my heart literally starts pounding I'm my chest. Sitting up against a tree motionless while watching him strut , spit and drum around the decoy makes me so nervous , I've actually started hyperventilating. Then trying to get him to come out of his strut and raise his head up for the shot is the final step. BOOM ! Now I get the shakes walking up to my prize. Funny thing is I couldn't care less about fall turkey hunting.
  12. When I picked him up to relocate him , he pissed all over my hand. Reminds me of when I was a kid catching toads. Lol
  13. I find this little guy on my deck railing today. At first glance I thought it was a rock or a piece of cement.
  14. Found this little guy on my steps yesterday afternoon , courtesy of our cat. I tried to pick him up to see if he was injured , but thought better of it when he started growling at me. So I caught him in my striper net and released him near a coon den in the woods behind my house. He scampered up a tree apparently unharmed. No sign of the mother which was kind of surprising to me.
  15. Yo........if you haven't , check out TreasureNet.com Best one IMO. Good Hunting !
