Water Rat

Just got it today. I like reading the Cuffs & Collars.

I did a little metal detectoring this morning for the hell of it. Usually I find a lot of pull tabs , nails , barbed wire , shotgun shells and other assorted junk. However today I found what I believe is a native indian arrowhead. The arrowhead itself appears to be made of slate or shale but I'm not sure. The wire coil at the bottom is what set the metal detector off. I'm guessing it's for small game because of it's size. I put it in my ultra-sonic cleaner with just water and it cleaned up pretty good. Anyone have a different theory ? I'd put it in the man cave , but it's too small to see on the self.

I thought these 3 were going to come up my walk way to the front door. They saw me thru the window and decided against it. They moseyed around a bit and walked across the street to my neighbor's back yard. I guess they know where their safe.

At least the gorilla story died down.

Those m-80's , pineapples and ashcans were a lot of fun. We used to have 2 man bottle rocket fights. One kid would light the bottle rocket at the end of a pipe and the other kid would aim it. Kind of like a bazooka. Ever blow up mailboxes ? When I look back at it , I'm thankful I didn't lose any fingers or my eyesight.

I can visualize sitting there with a 22-250 shooting predators. Looks like a nice spot.

I managed to get a few (blurry) photos of the gobblers in my back yard yesterday afternoon. I heard them gobbling while I was doing yard work. I still have a tag left , but it would be illegal to discharge a firearm or bow with houses all around me. They sure are making it difficult for me to do the right thing.

How'd you like to walk face first into this in the dark ?

I used to have 20 or more turkeys at the feeder on a daily basis. Then for some reason , the numbers declined over the past couple of years.

Saw this hen yesterday afternoon at our birdfeeder. Just wish I had a better camera.

Slightly OT Not a turkey call , but maybe a coat rack ? I tried to make a " Fowl Finger " a few years ago for the hell of it.

I believe the Baxtertown property is NYSDEC land. The DEP land is usually around the NYC reservoirs. Good luck hunting.

Those are some sweet looking calls you've made there alloutdoors ! I made these for the hell of it in the early 90's. They sounded good , but wasn't happy with the volume.
