Went small game hunting at the end of January. Didn't see anything but this snow man who looked at me the wrong way. IMG_3110.mov

Wow! 45? I don't have any guns at all. I have all these cartridges. Now I just need a rifle that would accept the cartridges.

Buying ammo in Vermont
Elmo replied to grampy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I didn't just get asked at the Dicks on Westchester when buying 22LR, they flat out refuse to sell it to me unless I show them a pistol permit even if I tell them it's for a long gun. Which is why I don't buy from them. Never got asked anywhere else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
17HMR, 22LR, .223, .308, 12 gauge smooth bore, 20 gauge rifled, .50 muzzleloader. Would like to add: 7mm rem mag (or .300 win mag - can't decide), another 223, 9.3X62 in that order.

Any other year I would still be out there looking for small game, predators, or crows. Even if I know I'm not going to see anything, just hiking through the woods with rifle in hand is all I need some times. This year has just been brutal with the weather.

Sorry for your loss. My maltese passed away a few months ago (in Oct) as well. It helped knowing that I gave her a good life as I'm sure you did for your dog as well.

You Can Own Steve Rinella's ( of Meat Eater Fame ) Rifle
Elmo replied to Mr VJP's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Never said he is a going to be a huge TV personality. Simply saying within his field, he is relatively new compare to some of the other names you guys have been bring up so it is too early to compare him to against those who has seen their careers in it's entirety. -
You Can Own Steve Rinella's ( of Meat Eater Fame ) Rifle
Elmo replied to Mr VJP's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
All legends have to start out some where. I remember when Detek Jeter first came up how every one was talking about him not being in the same class as Alex Rodriguez and Nomar Garciaparra. Time will tell if Steven Rinella is still climbing or he is at his peak. My guess is that he is still climbing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Title I guess says it all. Has the 4-Plex reticle. The tiny little shiny silver dot visible in picture #3 is the only nick on it. Otherwise it's been hardly used. Located in NYC/Westchester area. Asking for $175

Too bad I'm not a lefty. -
I'm in that dilemma since I have a 223 and a 17HMR. If I'm calling with my 223 and a fox shows up, I'm afraid of ruining the pelt. If I have my 17HMR but a coyote shows up, I feel slight under-gunned. Any one taken a fox with a 223 or a coyote with a 17HMR?

Hispanics always say "they have 5 years together" instead of "they've been together for 5 years". Annoys the heck out of me especially my wife says it all the time. I correct her every single time. I think now she just does it to annoy me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Right now, it's the four most relieving words my wife can whispers to me at night. "He (the baby) is finally asleep"

NY Senator wants to ban machetes.....
Elmo replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
What comes to my mind are these guys you would find in ethnic sections of NYC that sells fresh coconut water. During the summer, they'll have a van full of coconuts and for a few bucks, they'll hack up a coconut (with a machete of course) and pop a straw into it for you. -
Not enough gun makers are jumping on the 17WSM. The one that Savage makes has gotten bad reviews. I think CZ are the only other gun maker that makes a 17WSM rifle. Savage is also releasing a 17HMR in semi-auto (Savage A17). Don't know why they're not making one for 22 WMR in semi-auto,

NY Senator wants to ban machetes.....
Elmo replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
This guy is a knucklehead. I mean, is it only machetes? What about Kukri's Bowies, etc? As a side note: Clarification of the 4" blade rule in NYC. It's not illegal to own blades over 4". Otherwise, every restaurant, business, and home kitchen would be illegal. It's is illegal to go strolling down the city with a blade over 4" as a EDC. The law as it currently stands, it is legal to own a machete in your home, transport it to and from your car, etc. Just don't go strolling around Times Square with one. -

I have the Henry Frontier in 22LR and the Savage 93 in 17 HMR so while I have both models you're thinking about, I don't have them in 22 mag. I've also never put any sights on top of my Henry (it's my fun range/plinker) so I only shoot in with iron sights. Still, I highly doubt the Henry will match the Savage when it comes to accuracy. I'm sub MOA at 100 yards with the Savage but its also worth noting that the 17 HMR is more accurate than the 22 WMR.

Damn, Dom. The oldest was 31 years old when the youngest was born? That even more crazy than a brood of 16! I'm the middle of 3 boys. Oldest is 3 years older than me. Younger one is 8 years younger than me. You can assume the youngest one wasn't really planned.

Is this like an ammo's version of the great depression? I haven't been in this game long enough to know but has anyone experience this type of shortage in the past and if so, how long did it last? It's like almost 2 years now hasn't it?

Just a FYI: Bae literally translates to doo doo in Dutch.

Yolo and bae.

It's the "I'm going to purposely get myself into deep doo doo, and when I do, I fully expect someone else to come bail me out" mentality.
