  1. No one wants to be a snitch. That's why there will always be crimes in inner cities, terrorist attacks even amongst other Muslims, and of course poaching.
  2. You only have a small window of time to edit a post. After a certain amount of time has passed, you can no longer edit it.
  3. This is a great thread for new hunters. Too many people who have little to no experiencing in hunting think you just walk into the woods and walk out with a deer the same day as a norm. I some times have friends who don't hunt tell me "You've gone hunting a lot. What have you gotten so far? You must suck as a hunter." This really shows how much effort we hunters really put in to be successful and this doesn't even include all the scouting done during the pre-season.
  4. You beat me to it. This is my exact feelings. I doubt I will find any organization that mirrors my views 100% but if there is any organization that has will have enough political power to maintain our freedom, it's the NRA. It's not the organization that represents my views the most but rather the organization that will most likely deliver some result for me. Their constant calling to ask for more money is really annoying though.
  5. I put in roughly 14 full day sits and 1 afternoon sit. Anywhere between 40 to 50 miles each way depending on where I hunt. During gun season, I did more still/stalk hunting so I hike several miles through out the course of the day.
  6. Obviously isn't working very well now is it? http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/15/world/asia/australia-sydney-hostage-situation/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
  7. How long do you leave the breach plug in the soap solution? Does it cause rust over time? I've been using a store bought solution and not completely happy with the results.

  9. The public has been easing up on hunting for food but are still and will probably always be against trophy hunting. It is very difficult for the general public to grasp ecological concepts such as population control. There has been a definite movement towards subsistence living, going organic and free range, and hunting is a big part of that. Just turn on the TV and see how many shows are out there now that simply were not there before: Books: Georgia Pellegrini, Steve Rinella, Hank Shaw. TV Shows: Meat Eater, Life Below Zero, Alaska: Last Frontier, Live Free Or Die, Mountain Men. All of these show hunting in a positive light. But none of them are trophy hunters.
  10. Weekend warrior is what someone had described earlier. Someone who works hard during the week but specifically in a white collar office setting and so they play hard during the weekend but specifically in an outdoor adventurous type. The outdoor adventurous activity doesn't necessarily pertain to hunting. It can be paintball, kayaking, etc. Where I separate the weekend warriors from the true hunters is that I feel weekend warriors see the act of hunting as nothing more than a fun, adventurous activity where as true hunters take on the full hunter/gatherer mentality.
  11. These did cross my mind. I think they have a very limit range as well. Can't be too far from you or they lose reception. Limits their use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    WHY?

Wow! You have a nice property! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I can see not being able to carry a rifle during MZ season since you can use it to an added advantage but I'm not so sure a shotgun with a #6 shot will take a deer better than a MZ. Makes even less sense when accompanied with a bow like Grow stated. Oh well. Common sense and logic won't get me out of a fine so I'll just follow the rules regardless of how dumb they are. 14. Well, that pretty much ends my idea. Thanks Doc. Donny know why I missed that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes, at this point I think I'm just going to go around and kick anything up. What ever gives me an opportunity, I'll use the appropriate tool if it's legal to do so. Just want to make sure it's legal to do so.
  16. Can I carry a muzzleloader AND a field shotgun load with bird shot at the same time during the late season?
  17. Hmmm...I never really clean the trigger. Lighter fluid? Would never have thought of that.
  18. I noticed on some scopes, the eye relief changes as you adjust the magnification. What is the purpose of this? Do you adjust your hold as you change magnifications or are these scope really meant to be used as fixed magnification once it is mounted?
  19. Best story of the year.
  20. She was well before my time but I've seen a few classic movies and her "One Million Years BC" was pretty iconic. Watched the entire movie when I was a little kid hoping for that outfit to get caught on a twig or something.
  21. Saw tons of deer during bow season. Kept getting busted or they stayed out of range. Had one jump the string on me when I did get a nice shot. Then I didn't see a darn thing during gun season. If I use Pygmy's woman scale, my season is Raquel Welch. She kept teasing you into thinking you might finally get to see a nude scene but it never happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. That is sad to hear. Hope they pull through this. Keep us posted.
  24. Reminds of this comedy skit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efiW2K8gASM
