Ive always had good luck with Goodyear SRA's Two different sets of these and I got over 70k miles on each set. The set I just bought this summer are Goodyear Frontier's... they seem to be equal to the SRA's. I keep my vehicles in top shape... Replace any worn suspension part right away and pay attention to any abnormal tire wear.

To be certain, I really do not know if my method works, of anyone elses for that matter. I cant see it being a detriment but I do feel better knowing that I did take some sort of action concerning scent control. One more tidbit... I wont leave the house without having a plan. Looking up the weather, wind ect, then figuring out where to park to get where I want to go based on on that. Its not foolproof for sure. If theres a lot of cars parked there already I may change the plan up as I see fit. Im starting to pattern certain "regulars" at this public and I usuaully know what area they go to. Dont really have to worry about that on private, but it throws a wrench in the works sometimes. Earrly bow season is my favorite time because for some reason, the hunting pressure is very light.

Ive see a lot of John Eberhart's videos and he sure does take scent control very serious. Based on his scent control process, I have come up with my own version. Starting around sept 1st, I switch my laundry detergent to scent free stuff and I put the dryer sheets away. That gives the washer and dryer a month to de-scent before I wash any hiunting clothes. I grabbed three totes from walmart, similar to what John uses... they have hinged covers, wheels and a rubber gasket that seals the lid when closed. Two of them are black, the third is green. Foul cold weather gear goes in one of the black ones, the mild nice weather gear goes in the other black one. Everything in the black totes has been washed scent free and not worn yet. Once the gear gets worn, it will go in the green bin until it hits the washing machine again. Sometimes Ill wear the the stuff from the green bin a second time depending if I got it all sweated up or not. It is easy for me to keep track of clean and dirty stuff plus piece of mind of knowing Ive done the best I can do for scent control (without buying hundreds of dollars of fancy scent control hunting gear) when I hit the woods. Ive done really well getting close to deer on public from the ground using this method along with very strict play the wind tactics. Most times out, I cant get to the spot I want to be in but when the wind works in my favor, I usuaully see deer. I took a decent buck a few years back using this scent free process and playing the wind.... Long and short of it, I think you can come up with a similar system, something that you feel will work, and play the wind. One more important note to add is where to set up. I am able to get close by getting well brushed in. Most of my setups, there is no way to shoot from there... I would have to move a few feet (or more) to be able to draw the bow etc. Im Watching the deer and moving when it cant see me... Really makes your heart pound!

Sweet set up for sure. The GF and I recently bought a used popup and so far we are very pleased with it. It was priced right (very right) at a time when covid jacked up the prices of used campers to the crazy level. We will probablly only use it 3 or 4 times a summer but I will use it a few more times during the early doe hunt and early bow season.

Back in 2000 I shot a big buck in Chautauqua county but never bothered to have it scored... the folks at the processors hung it on the scale right away... weighed 178 field dressed. I think that was good enough for me. A bigger deer nowadays... I think Id like to know what is scores.

Im in the same boat, eddie. I missed two great opertunities last bow season because I couldnt draw the bow....one was on a big doe and the other a big bodied 6pt. I dont know if I was just too cold or lost too much strength but it seemd fine when I drew the bow while warm inside the house...

Tons of awesome advice in this thread and only one other member mentioned something that is pretty important... And that is patterning the other guys and gals. I know of 6 or so "regulars" by the vehicles they drive and Ive learned over the last 4 years as to what areas they go to. Most of the time that will greatly influence me as to what area Ill go to and how to access it. The place I go is very difficult to hunt and easy access is not very apparent. Getting to the areas where the deer get pushed to public is a great stratagy. I do see a lot of deer this way. Naturally, this doesnt work every time, especially when gun opens, but during bow season, I see a lot of deer doing this.
