There is something about mountains of taco nachos that just speaks to my soul! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not to much of a story on this one. Picked a stand I’ve seen quite a bit off deer from but I’ve never been able to get shot of yet. I get in the stand just before legal light. 15 min later it starts to rain (unexpectedly) luckily I had my umbrella with me. Get up wrestle with that and sit back down. Another 15 min goes by and 4 deer come hauling tail towards me but they will pass 150 plus yards away I get the gun ready anyways and get into position. As luck would have it they hit some standing water and decide to make a right hand turn putting them on a course to be in front of me at 50 yards. My patience pays off as the biggest doe of the group steps out perfectly broadside straight in front of me. I pull the trigger and she goes off on a 60 yard death run and flips over dead in sight!!! Probably one of my earliest morning harvests at 8:00am on the button. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like the sinking ship is getting more holes.

I’m pretty close to that but a remmy 1100 purchased around 2002 with a cantilevered barrel and a $100 bushnell non powered red dot scope. I love this damn thing so much I won’t take my rifle out with me. I treat her horrible and she don’t care. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I pee from the stand all the time and never noticed a bad effect from it. I’ve done a jug as well from a larger homemade stand only because that was easier than trying to pee off it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Saw nothing during the evening sit with my daughter. We ran right from last light to the truck in order to make it to the Lancaster Christmas fire truck parade. Made it with 5 min to spare! Tomorrow’s another day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Must have gotten some luck yesterday Sitting so close to the Turkey Feathers family dropping off sam’s buck. Had a nice doe 50 yards away at 8am. Double lunged her and she went 60 yards on a death run dropped in sight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s all been said already and I agree. I really don’t know Jay other than on here and a couple of interactions outside of the forum but man did it sure feel good when I read that they connected this morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Moog, I hate to say it but in my non professional opinion that guy looks sick and umm should be taken out from gene pool by an unqualified person such as I. I’ll await the coordinates in a PM. I normally charge a fee for this but being the holiday season and all I’ll do this one pro bono. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A cool gun with a cooler story on why it's mine.

Holy cow what a cool story. So glad you picked it up and took it in the field Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I bought a pair of $20 Smartwool socks this year to try because I have the same problem as the OP. So far 3 cold hunts in and i'm loving them. They are designed to wick moisture away from your foot and boy do they work. Before me feet after a long day looked like i was soaking them in a tub. Now with the Smartwool socks my feet are bone dry. I cant explain it but it works. I put Smartwool socks on first then a thicker pair of merino wool socks and for the cold mornings like this morning I added toe warmers on the top of my toes. I never felt cold at all. Oh and I have 1000 gram insulate boots as well.

I sat until 11. Around 10 I had a nice doe come within 15 yards but she just would not leave the thick stuff. Even without taking any deer I have been having a pretty good season. Probably the most deer I have ever seen between Bow and regular season. Eventually one of these deer are going to mess up and offer me a shot.
