  1. Oh man now I can sleep good tonight! Way to take it to the 11th hour Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. 29 from a BB doesn't seem out of the ordinary unless it was a really big BB.
  3. For me it's tough to describe this season. I'd like to say it was bad but looking back at it was it really all that bad? The bow season could have flipped a complete 180 if I didn't mess up twice. Once on a doe when I miss judged distance and once on a nice buck when I wasn't ready for him but I should have been as I had plenty of time(I'm still beating myself up over that one). Deer sightings per sit where down this year but I did see a few big bucks on there feet in person just to far out of reach. Then there was the opening weekend of bow when I went out with a youth and we where surrounded in deer and he took a little buck, his first buck with the bow. Gun season came and I took a small doe opening day just before sunset only the second deer I saw that day pulling a dark to dark sit. Sunday of opening day's weather sucked but my daughter came out with me and we enjoyed our time together in our new enclosed and heated tower never laying eyes on a deer the entire day. Thanksgiving produced the 2nd largest buck I've ever taken and once again my daughter was out hunting with me in the tower so that made it extra special and the second year in a row with a thanksgiving day buck with her. Little did I know that after that buck I would only see one more deer the entire season. I spent probably the most time I have ever spent in the woods in a year. During bow I was out 76 hours and Gun I was out 49 hours for a total of 125 hours in the woods. I also spent a lot more time just up at camp from early September through the hunting season. So while I feel like the season wasn't that great how can I really complain about getting out in the woods hanging out with friends and family and taking a couple of deer as well? The answer is I really can't and I'm sure a lot of people would have switched season with me and been super happy about it.
  4. I think you are in the running for most dedicated hunter of the year award.
  5. Glad I'm not the only one that does not look forward to re-organizing it all. I have 4 totes for all the different clothes and gear. To start the season its all organized but by the time the gun season ends I have the totes all mixed up with each other, it's a disaster. It Probably took me about 2 hours to separate it all out and get it reorganized. Now next season all I have to do is grab the totes from the basement and toss them in the truck.
  6. Sadly it seems like no one really knows what they are doing and when you ask for help they are useless. I have a close friend going through it right now and everyone he has talked to has been of no help. It took 5 days to even get a call from the department of health after testing positive. The only symptoms he had was stuffed sinuses kinda like a head cold that lasted just a few days. He’s been fine since. He’s a free man on Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I didn’t say that was the only date it’s just that date in particular seems like it might work out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Pencil me in for March 15th a walk on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It's always interesting seeing other people way of breaking down the deer. I always remove the shank/football roast first off the hind quarters. My order of removal is Inner loins Shoulders Backstraps Hind quarters starting with the football roast. I'm not saying my way is the right way just saying its interesting to see the different methods.
  10. Breaded fried chicken and a pot of chicken stock. After dinner I’ll be getting a brine ready for corned venison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My season is done besides maybe a yote hunt. My hunting clothes are all clean, I have gear all over the dining room so I can reorganize it and put it away except it’s literally the last thing on earth I want to do right now. I’d rather pour myself a healthy glass of whisky and take a nap. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hot dang. He’s a keeper after all!!! Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. All good. I can understand both sides. I don’t give up sundays to watch the games but will follow along to see how they are doing. This is the most I’ve watched them play in years because of all the prime time night games they have had. Anyways. As promised food pics. Loaded nachos was a bust as we had nothing loaded for the nachos. Instead we did venison quesadillas which turned out fantastic! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Watching the NFL is very very conflicted for me. While I don’t disagree with what you said. My father and uncle who both served in the Marines in the mid 70’s both say they served for their right to protest. They don’t feel disrespected at all by it while I don’t necessarily see it that way but I never served either. Now to get away from the political BS that I don’t enjoy. Thanks that stud was my first ever wall hanger back in 2018 after hunting for 21 years plus or minus. To make up for the distraction I’ll post my loaded nacho dinner when it gets cooked up. 15. You must be asleep at the wheel. That was last nights dinner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. After 11 straight weekends of hunting it feels good to sleep in and stay home. I do have to drive out to camp to pick up my 4 wheeler though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Little 20 degree weather grilling for family movie night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Good Luck, unfortunately the loss of taste does not sound promising.
  19. Hung them in a tree? What kind of weird tradition is that!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Lol. I was talking about the inner loins. You must have missed my comment about swinging by to take those nasty bastards off his hands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I might cry if that’s what he did with them. Now I’m afraid to check out the dinner thread Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Wow your going to eat em! Don’t tell@crappyice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Looks great! Should I swing by for those nasty inner loins? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. My first truck was standard as well as my motorcycle. Its been years since I've had to drive a 4 wheel vehicle with a standard transmission but this summer I jumped into a friends car to move it and didn't realize it was manual. Revved it a bit to much but never stalled it out!!!! Sometimes I pretend in my truck to shift gears using the coffee mug as the shifter!
