  1. Here's my view this morning. Out the window of my daughters room at the new place. I'm stuck priming and painting for now. There is a doe down by the pond. Wonder how many yards that shot would be from the deck. Lol.
  2. My Remmy 700 VTR in 308 and my Marlin 336 30-30
  3. Lol. 40 is my limit right now. I don't practice enough for long shots anymore.
  4. Zoom in. The pic posted sideways. He was at 80ish yards.
  5. Just had my target buck Waldo in the plot. No shot.
  6. Got into my stand about an hour ago. Hoping the mid day action is good today. I'll probably be here till dark. I'm hoping the rain misses me but if not, no biggie.
  7. CCleaner is what hes talking about. Careful what you do in there though, you can accidentally wipe data out that you dont intend to. www.piriform.com/ccleaner If you are having issues with having to login all the time, you need to clear your internet browser cache and history. I had the same issue until I did.
  8. That sucks. Ive had my 2010 Ram 1500 for about 5 years now, and shes at about 130k miles. The only rust is from where the previous owner had some chrome wheel well accents that I got rid of. The one on the drivers front had gouged the paint inside of the wheel well and I never noticed until the bubble started last year. The only major issue Ive had is the rear end, and that turned out to be my fault. Other than that, the only problem has been the exhaust manifold studs breaking, and Dodge fixed that on one side, and is doing the other side shortly, at no charge. Shes been a great truck, and has tons of life left in her but Ill be trading her in this coming spring for a 3500 Mega Cab with a Cummins so I can haul more and fit mine and my girlfriends kids all in there at the same time. Youd have to pay me to drive any other brand. Ive owned them all and my Chrysler products have always been good to me.
  9. Another thing to remember if you leave your stands out all year is to go to each stand and loosen the straps after the season is over. The tree trunk grows in girth, so it stretches the strap over the year. I leave all of mine loose after the season and tighten them at the end of summer when Im trimming lanes. I swap them out every other year or if they show any wear. I always have 2 straps per stand, minimum. Im actually thinking of moving over to chains instead of straps so I dont have to replace them or worry about it.

  11. I have pics on cam of young bucks bumping does around, sparring, etc for the last 3 or 4 weeks. Last week was the first time I got any pics of a mature buck sparring yet. This happens every year at this time. The young guys just get excited early.
  12. The issues should be all cleared up. Clear your browser cache, etc if you are still having issues.
  13. Opening weekend I was out in a new stand on our new plot before daylight. I had a small doe or fawn walk right by my tree while it was still dark, then heard a blow come from behind me somewhere but couldnt make out the deer. Once first light came, things slowed down. I ended up seeing a deer moving through the timber behind me, but couldnt make out what it was. It started to rain off and on, but nothing heavy. My trail camera on this plot has shown mostly mid day activity here, by both does and bucks. Mature bucks seem to make their appearances here during the middle of the day and late afternoon most of the time. I did not see anything until about 11:20am, when a couple of does stepped into the plot on the opposite side from me. They ate for a bit and then moved on. I had to head home shortly after that. In the afternoon, Haley went with me and we headed up to our double set in the pasture. We almost always see deer from that stand. On the way in, we bumped 3 does that were in the lane way munching on fallen acorns. We headed up to the stand and got setup just in time for it to start pouring on us. We held out, as I figured the deer would be on their feet after the rain. By the time it started getting dark, we had gotten poured on 3 different times and hadnt seen a deer. We packed it in and headed home. Sunday I had things to get done at home, so I didnt get out. Ill be back out for the afternoon hunt on Friday.
