So cutting people's heads off on video and posting it on the Internet isn't far worse? How about the guerilla style war they are waging in the first place? Roadside bombs hidden in trash, etc etc. The list of attrocities the other side has committed could go on for a long time. I just don't see the comparison.

Pistol becomes a Rifle?
WNYBuckHunter replied to Moosemaple's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Here is the email I sent to the ATF regarding this issue... "I am wondering what the legalities are regarding the interchanging of pistol and long gun (shotgun, muzzle loader or rifle) barrels and stocks on a Thompson Center Arms Encore. More specifically, if you register the Encore frame with a (or multiple) pistol barrel, is it then legal to use that frame with a long gun barrel and stock set? Alternatively, is it legal to buy the Encore as a long gun, and later purchase a pistol barrel and grip set, and register the frame with it. I live in NY and would need to register any handguns on my NY pistol permit. Thanks in advance, John" I'll post the reply I get. -
Update on my WGI W6XDE, I like this cam alot so far. The pics are pretty good, and its set to video mode now, and Ill be pulling the card to check it this weekend. If its decent on video mode, Ill have to give it a thumbs up overall. I have no idea about battery life on it though, I use rechargable battery packs that last for a looooong time. Last time I checked, it had been up for 2 weeks and hadnt put a dent in the battery level yet. Thanks for the info on the M80s phade. Ive been thinking of picking up a couple of those, and will for sure now.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, glad my twisted mind could be of service!

Ive had a couple go into my 3D target and hit the part of the plastic leg that goes up into the foam body before (its not far from the vital area on that target). The 3D target has a couple of field points and 1 field point and insert still in there. I actually think there might be one of my buddy's broadheads in there too. You cant get the front leg of the target out because of those points in there lol.

Make sure to pick up a nice little nurse costume to wear for her, you know the skimpy ones they sell for Halloween. Im sure she will appreciate it!

I have a bag target that I use for shooting spots with field points, and I have a 3D target (which needs replaced this year) that I stick round stickers on for broadheads. I also shoot 3D and some very large bag targets at the local pro shop. After I get my bow tuned and sighted in, I never shoot groups, only spots or single shots at the 3D target. I dont like replacing arrows. Last year I wanted to get my broadheads tuned in and so I shot a group of 3 at a 3D target like a dummy. I shaved fletchings off of 1 or 2 of the arrows. I was pretty upset at myself for doing that.

I was thinking the same thing... Now if you take the ribbed sabot and add some bore butter, look out!

Very nice bucks, both of you. Congrats!

I have not tried using a decoy, yet. I can think of times when I wished I had one to keep a buck's attention somwhere other than towards me. I would use it during either season, and probably wouldnt use it if I wasnt in a tree stand. I also wouldnt put it directly under my tree during gun season, as I wouldnt need a deer to get as close to me. As far as anyone shooting it goes, Id laugh my ass off, right after I explained to them that they would be paying for a new one.

Sweet! I love doing that, and anytime I buy something, I tend to keep an eye on the sale ads from store I bought it from for a month or so, just in case.

GUNOWNERS BEWARE OF NYC
WNYBuckHunter replied to wooffer's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Don't put words in my mouth. I never said that. The things you need to do about trying to change the laws consist of a lot more than just "raising hell" with your reps. I'm sure the group that was instrumental in getting the DC ban struck down did more than that. You don't have to be an NYC resident either, it is part of the state you live in. -
GUNOWNERS BEWARE OF NYC
WNYBuckHunter replied to wooffer's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Not true at all. Its the mentality of "I cant do anything to change it" that causes laws you dont agree with to stay in place. If you disagree with the law, do something besides complaining about it on the internet, and help get it sticken down. -
Henrietta. They might just be out of them now. I was looking at an Alpha hang on and a climber too.

Mechanical or fixed broadheads?
WNYBuckHunter replied to Forest Hunter's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Thers another reason I have gone back to fixed, I had enough of having to spend another $40 to $50 after every 3 or 4 shots with my broadheads. I have also gotten tired of replacement blades, so I am taking it a step further this year by moving to a fixed broadhead that I can easily resharpen and reuse. -

Just law or not, until it is struck down, you either abide by it or face the penalties. -

clear your cache for your browser and then go back to the site. -
A regular pro shop would be better for that. I wouldn't let a box store work on my bow if the price was $0
-
That would be Tarjac, and they have no issues with working on guns. I am having them do my bow and some accessories for me over the winter. They do great work. There is also a ceramic coating that can be applied, which is impervious to water, etc. it costs @ $150 to do on a gun. Talk to your local gun shop, as most of them know a place to get it done. I talked to the guys at Avon Gun Supply about it not long ago.

Pistol becomes a Rifle?
WNYBuckHunter replied to Moosemaple's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
From what I read in all of it,and what I have been told by more than 1 gun dealer, switching between the two is 100% legal. Bubba, the letter that you posted only talks about adding a stock to a pistol with a barrel longer than 16 inches, not the same thing as putting a rifle barrel on an interchangeable frame. Maybe I'll have to look up the email addy for general info at the ATF and ask them so we can put this to bed. -
If you aren't shooting skeet, clays or trap and you don't do much water fowling, you probably won't notice much with a shorter barrel. Personally, I like a 26 inch barrel with screw in chokes. Kind of a do it all length to me.

You must have some odd option set, because they start in the order of newly updated for me. -
Yep, happened every year when I lived in FL. Midnight on new years eve sounds like ww3 for a minute or so down there.
