  1. The state land near me is dead after this coming weekend. Sunday I think there were 6 cars there right before sunset. Today there was 1 car there all day. This piece has lots of access trails in it, and everybody hunts almost directly off of them, within 100 yards or so. Most stay within 200 of the road. If you get away from those areas, you see very few, if any people. There are some great funnels and pinch points to hunt, and plenty of deer. This piece is even farmed actively each year, so it has built in food plots basically.
  2. Its pretty clear the deer was dead by the end of the slide show. Did you watch all of it? It takes quite a while to run through.
  3. Amazing to catch all that on a trail cam.
  4. Ive had one before, they come out great if done right. Just remember, do not use a galvanized can or you will poison yourself.
  5. As far as getting kicked off the site, only 1 person has ever gotten banned, and it wasnt for his opinion. Everyone has a right to their opinion on here, including me, and in my opinion, baiting cams is lazy. I didnt insult the guy, just said my opinion.
  6. Ricochets can travel a long way. Glad nobody got hurt.
  7. Illegal, period. Adding apples under an apple tree, Illegal. If it grows, and stays where it is, its legal. If you pick it from elsewhere and put it there, Illegal. Mineral and salt substances are also illegal. C'mere Deer, Illegal. Get over it, stop being lazy and use real scouting tactics to position your cams.
  8. Something doesnt seem right about the mouldings and door handles. Why bother with that if you are just trying to rob a car? Sounds like antis trying to make it look like regular thieves.
  9. I got out of the woods, have to pick my daughter up soon. Be back in tomorrow.
  10. Looks like the batteries on this died a while ago, but I did get some great pics from the beginning of the month. This is the big 8 I had been seeing around. Havent seen him for a week or so. Hes a great 3 1/2 that I will take if I get the chance, but Im hoping he doesnt give it to me so I can see what he becomes next year. This is the 7 I passed Saturday morning. He needs at least another year, preferably 2. Heres Hayrake, out looking for does. Its not hard to recognize him, even from a blurry pic.
  11. Had a very nice fox trot by. Mouth sqeeked him back in then let him go.
  12. Just had a big buck chase a doe about 150 yards away. Couldnt tell which one it was but it was huge.
  13. Up in the climber today. In a spot I havent hunted since Halloween. Thats been a mistake. This is where the big 11 I call Hayrake has been. Here are some rubs. The second is on a tree 18 to 20 inches and the top is @ 3 1/2 to 4 ft up. The rubline is on a smallish trail 30 yards from the field edge and 40 off an atv trail, parralel to each.
  14. Were you in Ohio during bow season this year?
  15. Great buck, congrats to him
  16. If you want a ton of spam email, go ahead and enter for your game farm hunt lol.
  17. Well, Im not going to say I dont wear orange, and its not a good idea, but these people should be a good lesson for others to verify their target before pulling the trigger. No shots at movement or flicker of color, make sure that deer is a deer. Also keep an eye on what is in the background before you shoot. I probably spend as much time scanning the background to make sure I see anyone that might be there before the deer come in.
