  1. Look up Wolf Lake Rd Neversink preserve in rock hill. I don't run into many hunters but the deer population is low.
  2. I grew up on Rosa gap Rd. It's tough on state land, tons of hunters at all of these spots. Not many big deer for the last 20 years I have been there but the big fire a couple years back didn't help either. Shawangunk is probley your best bet. I saw a nice 8 point come out of there last year. A quarter mile away at the house I grew up in there are monsters hidden in overgrown areas. Private land is what you need in that area. Bashkill isn't bad but it's swamp for sure. There is a winery and public parking right next to each other, that's a good spot to enter.
  3. Round up did the job. Just hope they don't comeback.
  4. Do you have a problem with corn and beans being wiped out before season?
  5. How many acres of corn and beans do you plant?
  6. Two weeks and some 19-19-19 and the chicory is lush. Clover will be helped out with some more Sun.
  7. Landandcamps.com Landwatch.com That's how I bought mine.
  8. Leaving basic training I was in uniform at the airport. Guy came up said he was an A-10 crew chief and asked my job, I stated I was a heavy aircraft crew chief. He laughed said I would hate it, my back would be screwed up and I wouldn't re-enlist, picked up his bag laughed and walked away. 6 years later I left Hawaii on a commercial flight home. Loved the life but hated the job. That guy had me from hello. Also thanks to all the Navy guys for buying all the nice ladies drinks on TDYs then going back to base for curfew. The Air Force had no curfew btw
  9. Air Force 04-10 Dover AFB Hickam AFB C-5 C-17 crew chief
  10. My finger licken fried chicken. Homemade blueberry pie handpicked. Baked beans and slaw.
  11. Any pictures of bear this year? This guy decided to mess with mom's garbage and gave her a heart attack one afternoon while doing yard work. I came over and put one camera out this is about 20 yards off a road. A have a lot of fawns on the same camera hmmmmmm
  12. Lol this thread is going to be gold
  13. What type of roast do you use? Looks amazing
  14. Also very irregular crop, not as often as oak or hickory. Sounds like a very bleak overview for the tree in general.
  15. Another vote for American beech http://badger.uvm.edu/omeka/exhibits/show/uvmtrees/item/1201
  16. Blackened Sablefish with spinach and garlic.
  17. I do the same thing with the lime 800-1000 pounds at a time. What kind of wheat and rye are the best to use? Was thinking winter wheat and cereal rye.
  18. 20 rounds at 100 yards----- Light gun (which was a main point for me) safety is loud and sounds cheap. Spring noise will not cut it, I need to find a way to adjust it. A-bolt is smooth, easy to reload, no issues, no complaints, smooth and easy to use. Gun was accurate, little recoil, and fun to shoot. 20 rounds at 300 yards------ Wow after locking gun down at 100 yards we stepped it out to 300 yards the rifle was spot on. Adjusted 6 inches high with no wind and had a solid group. I wouldn't push it more then 300 yards. Was shooting 140 grain hornady. Awesome rifle for under $500 except for the safety .
  19. Some mixed results. Deer loved power plant wti but ferns decided to out grow it. Had about 30% success. About 300 yards on a logging road of clover and chicory came in amazing and I just added fertilizer so it should be set.
  20. Roundup is the only answer I have had. Spray and replant two weeks later.
  21. Worked great for me. That's a nice haul of bucks.
  22. Planted clover and chicory on a logging road, first year and I was surprised to have many pictures within a couple weeks of planting. Maple tree hanging over that road had has made a communal scrape. I will post more when my driveshaft is back together and I can visit my cabin. Has been a month and I'm hoping killing grass has helped my main plot.
  23. I have three P12 very reliable. I little blurry but overall I'm happy for the price I paid.
