  1. Looks like those rivets go through the stock.
  2. Tell me more about getting firewood out with a team or horses. Looks like they are hooked up to a hell of a load of log length.
  3. IF either one backs out, they will definitely take some flack. More so FS as it's obvious most on here are not keen on that type of hunting, but chef opened his trap, and was called out. Ball is in chefs court. I predict chef will back out, or just stop responding.
  4. Both have drawn the line in the sand. I do think FS's offer is legit and sincere, and willing to have chef try for the target buck. I'm not as confident chef will step over the line and man up. I hope he does. I also hope he has a fantastic time wether or not he takes the target buck. I think a lot of us would be interested in his experience. Question for you FS.. will chef be on his own, or will you or someone be there to semi gide him?
  5. I've got 3 separate flocks around my house. 1 is 4 hens that have no poults. The 2nd has 8 poults that are just about the size of mom. The last flock has 2 hens with about 12-14 poults. Some are around half the size of mom and the rest slightly larger than a partridge.
  6. I got my first pic of a bear last fall. Actually spotted a bear this spring on the same property, and the first day I put my cams out last week, on the same property, I got a pic of a bear sniffing my cam. Hopefully one of us gets a crack at him this season. All the corn on neighboring properties are in the process of being cut, so a good portion of his food supply is about to disappear.
  7. I took bills post as he was being sarcastic towards lands1 post as being surprised you have a bear issue by joking about high fence turkey hunts.
  8. Lol, I'm fairly certain he's not shooting bears illegally and posting them on a open forum. Don't need nuisance tags to kill predators. Legal in NY to kill predators that are after you livestock.
  9. Not sure if this is part of bidens infrastructure bill or just some law that's been introduced, but I read somewhere that all new vehicles must be speed limited to states max speeds. I just don't see this passing. We all know the State doesn't really give a shit about it citizens, but does care about money coming in and less tickets means less money.
  10. So two deer? Wish I had your vast knowledge and experience with the .243.
  11. Like I said in a previous post. Repercussions are needed. Otherwise why not walk in shoot the first slammer, that you admit he's going to see, and walk out of there saying how easy it was.
  12. Don't flatter yourself. Mad? Hardly!!! What's your experience with the .243 and deer hunting again?
  13. That's correct. I "liked" it. So what? Well actually I laughed at it.
  14. His offer hasn't changed, only the rules you want to play by have. I'm kinda on your side, I'd actually like to see you succeed in getting the target deer, and hear about what you really thought about the process. I'll most likely never go on a high fence hunt. Not because I think it's easy or unethical, but because I really have no interest in paying for a whitetail hunt weather it's fair chase or high fence. I can shoot a whitetail in my backyard, no it's not going to be a monster, but it's still a whitetail. If I ever go on hunting trip, it's going to be for something I can't shoot in my backyard. Love to go to Texas and hunt African plains game. 10,000+ acres fenced in doesn't seem like it would be shooting fish in a barrel.
  15. Wait, you complain high fence hunts are easy and not fair and you want to bait and hunt at night to make it easier?
  16. It's no different than any other motor. Could have been run with low oil, or oil never changed. Compression could be low because of that. Cylinder's could be bad, or hole in piston, bent crank, or as simple as bad plugs. Motor might run fine, but is the generator unit working properly. Get it inspected before you purchase the house so you know what your up against.
  17. Typically residential units are. The larger commercial units are usually water cooled.
  18. Just had a 14k generac installed this spring. Tired of running leads or making sure the portable will start. Assuming your going to do the normal inspections on the house? If so I'd add that to the list. You don't know if this unit is even worth repairing, and the cost to replace isn't going to be cheap. Depending on size, generac gen alone is going to run you 2.5k. Pd $4200 for our 14k with hole house transfer switch. Installation was around another 2k.
  19. It's got a lot of growing to do before winter.
  20. Ok, just so I've got this correct, your offering chef a FREE hunt for a specific deer on a 600+ acre high fence preserve, because he claims it's too easy. Correct? So if he fails, does he have to pay for the hunt? If he, on purpose or accidentally, shoots the wrong deer, what's the consequences? I mean seeing the largest deer you've ever laid eyes on, could make one come up with some excuse why that one is laying there dead and the one he was supposed to be targeting is still walking, and if there are no repercussions, what's to stop him?
  21. You've got my business. Maybe I'll get that bear that's roaming around. You up for trying a rug?
  22. Buddy sent me this picture. What are the odds that the next paint job is going to be camo, lol. I know it's not legal in NY to hunt from. Just sharing a pic..
  23. The camera is fine. Not mark on it. Somehow I got logged out of the app, and wasn't getting the notifications. Logged in and had 15 pics a a few does and a small buck.
