I can't believe how many solar fields have popped up in my area. My area is different. Very few of the large landowners (50 acres+) need the money. They are city-its that have summer homes. They don't believe in hunting, but complain about having to spend $1000's every yr to replace garden plants.

I was lucky enough to grow up hunting private lands. Been hunting the same farms for over 30 yrs. For free. One farm was over 1000 acres in it prime. Now only 250. Never hunted state land, or leased. At my age, if I lost all of my private hunting areas, I'd quit before I paid to hunt or hunt public lands. I only need one deer a yr as my wife won't touch venison. I'd take one deer off my 8 acres, and be happy with that.

Holy crap...

I've seen the same behavior many times if the other hens do not have poults of their own. Hens with poults will often group up after awhile, helping to keep a lookout for predators.

I just aim at the nock... Guaranteed not to hit it. Lol

Can you use Velcro or some rope to fasten it down to the bottom. Has to be some way to rig it up. I had a stand several years ago that the skirt was fastened top and bottom. I left it on over the winter and the critters chewed it to shreds.

Could be a coyote, a injury, or a birth defect. I shot a doe in last yrs holiday ML season with one ear and no tail.
-
I taken one doe with a 44mag super redhawk with open sights. It was about a 40 yrd shot with a good rest. I've killed 3 doe and a small buck with a Thompson contender pistol scoped with a 4x Nikon chambered in 7-30 waters. Farthest shot was 125 yards resting on a round bale.

I've got my grandnephew, maybe one other. Looking forward to it.

Why not bring your bow for the first couple days. Got both mine with the bow, it definitely adds to the excitement.

Never would have thought chicken had the most protein. Thanks for posting.

If he indeed has a transferable registration. I purchased a snowmobile a few yrs ago from a client who never registered the sled because it was only used on his property. He couldn't find the certificate of origin, and I was able to get a transferable reg with a little running around. Not sure if it's the same with MC's.
-
MC's in NY have had titles since the mid '70's. All Registration certificate have transfer of ownership on the back, but you can only use that if the front has " transferable" on the front. If the owner of the MC can't find the title, and it was registered in his name, he can apply for a lost title.

I think the hash browns help bind them and add texture. Never tried them without. I used BBQ sauce and blu cheese dressing for dips. A tiger sauce would be great too.

I called in a big bear probably 25 yrs ago in the Catskills while turkey hunting. This was 10 yards from me popping it's jaw. I was filming some friends from Maine, and had nothing but a camera. Stupid broken pipe in the basement ruined all my tapes.

I've always found it odd North NJ has a large bear population. Lots of large mature forest in my area and a decent amount of corn fields sprinkled around. In 30+ yrs hunting the same properties I've never seen a bear while hunting, and only last fall did I get a cell cam pic of one.

You definitely have no clue.

I've blocked holes in old fences and made new ones closer to my stand. Old hole was around 55 yards. New one was 25yrds. Sometimes the deer would just jump the fence at the old location, other times they would use the new hole. Never killed anything for that stand.

In my immediate hunting area, there is very few overgrown fields. Most are cut for hay. Lots of brushy hedge rows, and a couple large swamps that have brushy edges. Couple of the fields were cow paddock's back in the 80's. Those were almost impossible to walk through 10-15 yrs ago. Now the scrub brush is 20'+ tall and the thick canopy is over my head. See turkeys in there all fall eating the little berries that they produce.
-
I guess my area is against the norm of decline. Decent amount of farming in the area, mostly corn and hay fields. Tons of predators, and lots of turkeys. Seeing good amount of poults, some close to mom's size, some partridge size. Also seen several bachelor groups.

Thanks, There pretty comfy. But next time get a half size larger..

The owl pic is cool. It's like it knew the cam was there.
