your response does not surprise me at all,,,,,so you have had this almighty "SCI bloodglow" stuff for how long? and you have shot how many deer since acquiring the blood glow stuff? so why have you not mixed up a batch and tested it out on an already recovered deers blood trail so you KNOW how it works? just because the packaging says it works doesn't mean it does as it says. like i have said many times in the past, you keep stacking the odds against yourself eventually your luck is going to run out. I will rely on my skills and experience not rely on modern csi technology to have to bail me out.

i watch the weather, I am not missing out on anything but a possible washed out blood trail. this isn't my first rodeo in bow hunting nor tracking deer, I think I do ok bowhunting. I only take high percentage shots and they are close, but as I said ANYONE can make a bad hit because you are not shooting at a stationary 3d target, you are shooting at a live animal with an unbelievable will to survive things happen and they can do some unbelievable things after being fatally shot.

been using peroxide for years, its WAY cheaper than all those "special" blood tracking sprays. Dad has bought a few of those blood tracking lights, I don't remember the names I think one was a primos maybe? it had a split red and green lens......he wasted his money lol. once we find the deer we go back and practice with all the other gadgets, like anything confidence is a huge factor, if you are not confident in what your using to search for blood you take a great chance of ruining the blood trail.

dude the almighty crossbow cures all problems in archery don'tcha know.lol

i will not bow hunt in the rain, nor if there is a strong possibility of it raining shortly after the hunt. I take only high percentage close shots and even with that I have had several deer take a partial step between the time my brain says release and my fingers respond thus going from a lung shot to liver shot. What you do after the shot WILL dictate the outcome, you make a bad shot and its raining you have 2 choices either get down and follow/chase the animal or walk away and hope it only goes a short distance and dies and you can find it via grid searching because with rain you are going to have little to no blood to follow. for me there is no way I am taking an avoidable loss possibility shot because of rain.

Do You Support Crossbow Full Inclusion into the NY Archery Season?
reeltime replied to tughillmcd's topic in CrossBow Hunting
as far as full inclusion goes its going to happen, likely within 2 years but there is going to be a bow certificate requirement, that alone is going to weed out a lot of the ones that are currently just taking advantage of the muzzleloader stamp requirement currently in place. Are archery stamp sales going to go up, likely yes they will. When Pa started allowing crossbows in archery the archery stamp numbers increased and are still quite high in sales numbers as well as the (estimated) harvest numbers have increased. but there is also no archery safety class or certification needed and there is no comparison in hunter density between ny and pa. nor the hunter heritage here in ny as there is in pa even though the hunter numbers are trending down in pa as well. The crossbow sales the months prior to the first season of full inclusion in pa was unreal, I was at the hamburgh pa cabellas store that summer and no joke I watched 23 crossbows walk out the door the 2 hours we were there. around my place in pa we used to see quite a few with crossbows but now we are seeing more going back to traditional or compounds. Crossbows are not the cure all, not for accuracy, wounding, poor shot choices, or the biggest thing it will not cure is just plain ole good woodsmanship. These folks that think they are going to go buy a crossbow and take that new crossbow into the woods and miraculously walk up and shoot a deer while a small percentage will do just that the largest majority will fail at harvesting a deer and some will even give up when they find its not as easy as they think. I have seen FAR more folks here and in PA "still hunting" (lol) with a crossbow in their hands than a compound or recurve. As far as myself personally, I hunt by the rules set by states, I have bowhunted 40 years and have been blessed to have killed well over 100 deer with a bow,,,, 1 yes 1 was shot at 22 yards I have never shot at a deer farther than that, a handful at 20 and probably at least 100 at less than 10 yard, I haven't shot over 10 yards in at least 15 years. What advantage does a crossbow give me? none! I rely on my woodsmanship skills, hunt them high, hunt them in the thick stuff and just take advantage of the shots I am presented. -
true,, and at the end of the investigation the truth will come out.

I would absolutely do a title search and have title insurance also you need to make sure that they did not exercise any of the mineral rights they very well could have a lot of people leased their land rights already to the gas company prior to New York shutting them down so you need to make sure those rights are clean before signing any documents Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

you can frame the walls to take fiberglass insulation, use a good insulated door. yes you can use a window air conditioner and wire in a coolbot controller but the ac unit needs to be digitally controlled, the old turn dial style air conditioners can not be converted . the coolbot units i have done will bring the temps down to mid 30's. for deer coolers I have installed remote thermostats so that the temps can be monitored without opening the door to check on the temps.

i have found that with my fixed blade heads the blade must be in perfect alignment with the cock feather or I get very erratic grouping, when lined up I can take vanes off each arrow.

have a couple stands at 15-18 feet, but the rest of them are all 21-38 feet, the 38 foot stand is one of my best stands and has been the demise of a few good bucks. i rarely ever trim branches and most of my stands have 10 yard max shots.

2004 new hampshire, 200 yard shot 30--06 my buddy said you missed the first shot so I racked another and fired the second shot, she went about 20 yards off the logging road. 3:10 pm on a sunday. when we got up to the spot there was lots of hair but no blood. walked into the jungle of brush and there it laid. had 2 holes through the lungs 1" apart. what would I do different??? NOT let roger drive his truck that day! he had no tools in the truck which also had a cap on it, and it was a new truck so we had to cut back the logging road the 2 miles to get back in there cause god forbid ya may scratch the truck lol. I think the biologist said live weight was 856lb. and I dont recall the checked in weight, all I know is that it was 4 am monday by the time we finally had it loaded in his truck bed which also did no longer have those tie down loops up in the front of the bed ( they are not designed to pull a dead moose into the bed off a large slab of granite) it was a fun hunt, sore for a week afterwards but some of the tastiest wild game ya ever want to have on a plate in front of you. in hindsight had we just waited till monday morning we could of given $100 to a skidder operator to go haul it out......but what memory would that of been lol. would I go again? in a heart beat! would I do things different? yup I would drive my truck every day of the hunt lol.

yup countersink bits. grow, the shaft is probably solid and either round shank or octagon shank to fit in the drill or brace chuck. they are old school as today's pilot and countersink or countersink bits give a much smoother and cleaner cut.

Need a deer deterrent!

put a tee shirt there that youve worn all day. -
nice rig. not sure what the particulars are on the boat as far as age, hours, storage etc. If the bellows, shift boots have not been changed I would suggest that you have them changed. they are prone to dry rot and often times not noticeable that they are suspect until they tear out. Have the outdrive serviced, change the lower unit oil, new water pump, grease the gimble bearing. good luck with the boat. sportcraft made a decent boat.

its a long story, shot was 275 yards. 30-06 150 gr. sp federal. the bullet hit right on the right front shoulder and completely fragmented, smashed the shoulder blade but not a single piece of the bullet entered the chest cavity. the deer bled an amount I have never seen from a deer. I know that people exaggerate blood loss but I was pouring table spoons of blood out of leaves. I had to leave the track about 630 pm when my phone died thus rendering me without a light. by the time I got to the house Judy was ready to call in a missing hunter to 911. grabbed a bite to eat, loaded up 3 led lights with new batteries. and back on the track, I didn't know that as I was walking back to my waypoint and where I marked the last pool of blood this deer let me walk 5 feet from him. about 930 pm I jumped him again and watched as he ran into an extremely thick ravine, as I walked up to where he ran into( he had let me get close a few times and I still had no idea where the bullet hit him but knew I had muscle blood and a little bit of artery blood) I was about 6 feet from the brush and heard something and shined the light up and there he was standing just like the pose except every hair on his body was bristled up and his ears were back way more than mike could make them. I remember thinking....this is not good... the next thing I remember is being in the air and back against a tree as he hit me mid body antlers first. I hit the ground, the light was gone from my hand and holy crap my left arm feels like its broken. with a small amount of moon light I can see him about 20 feet away head down facing me, it all seemed so surreal but I remember thinking get OFF the ground do NOT let him get you on the ground or he will run those antlers through you. Unbelievable he charges at me and shear instinct I grabbed for his antlers and somehow managed to grab both main beams, all I kept thinking was do NOT let go of these antlers! he is pushing me backwards ( its amazing what goes through your mind at times) I am trying to push his head down more so I was less likely to get knocked down. Well he had enough of that and yanked his head up which promptly threw me over his back and I am still thinking don't let go of the antlers!! I dont think you could of got my hands loose with the jaws of life! so I still have ahold of the antlers although now at a very awkward grip when he starts shaking his head, now to give an idea here I am 6' 180lbs, all I can say is I had to look like a toy in a dogs mouth! my feet were not even on the ground and he was just thrashing me in the brush.! by now I am convinced this deer is fully intent on killing me, and do not ever think that the do NOT know that those antlers are a weapon. I could not believe this was happening and thinking nobody knows where i am so someone will find the blood trail and I will be laying there. instinct kicked in and finally got him subdued and with the aid of my gutting knife it was over. now my paramedic training kicks in, now I have never been stabbed so don't know what it feels like but I know my stomach hurts where he initially hit me and my left arm is numb but that is not a concern until I see if I have been gored. after checking I find bruises but no penetrations. now to the arm, I slide my right hand inside my sweatshirt and feel a stinging bring my hand out and its covered in blood.... I knew it wasn't a compound fracture as I would not of been able to hold on. I finally took a selfie of the back of my arm and was missing a a chunk of meat and severely bruised. finally got ahold of judy cause I was not sure how bad I was hurt, adrenaline still flowing but I had done a good assessment, I tagged the deer, gutted him and started to try and drag him, Judy had called a buddy of mine whos a deputy and now my phone is getting blown up. they just don't understand I am fine just trying to get the deer out. finally get to a road and have judy bring the truck, all we could do to get the deer in the truck. get it back to the house, I hop outa the truck, drop the gate and reach for the deer and judy says you get in the house we need to see how bad your hurt. it was 11:30pm. What I didn't know was I was covered in blood,,, mostly mine,, I had a big scrape behind my right ear, another one on the left side of my neck, the right side of my face was bruised from my ear to chin along my lower jaw. my left tricep had a chunk of meat out of it, swollen and a purple so deep it almost looked black. a bruise on each side of my belly button about 9" apart. had cuts all over my hands and forearms. I don't bruise easy, never have. the next morning I was surprised that I didn't hurt more. normal day,,,,,,the next morning,,, holy crap what truck hit me!!! and holy cow who beat me with a pool cue stick.. I was covered with bruises, legs, arms, stomach. back, neck.... Judy was NOT impressed! So, the right shoulder was broken and the brachial artery severed, you could fold the right leg over his back... he went as far as he was going and then decided to stand and fight. I will never ever doubt the power of a whitetail deer! they DO know what those antlers are for! he did all that on 3 legs, had he had 4 good legs I would of been in serious trouble! I will NEVER track another deer without a weapon! I have tracked probably several hundred deer in my life and never seen nor heard of anything like this.

Garden isn't doing squat this year. Finally getting some tomatoes, the carrots and onions have really jumped the last week. Beans have been so so. I do have 9 watermelons but not a single cantaloupe. I'm gonna need a mechanics creaper to pick corn and they look to be about the size of the mini ears on a China buffet table.lol. I didn't deep plow it first this year so next year going back to my normal way of starting out. Pretty disappointed in its turn out this year. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
