  1. This call was made by Redbeard and has a black anodized aluminum surface. The pot is Osage and comes with a two piece striker. Good sounding call that has not been in the woods. I'm thinning out my collection and unfortunately this is one of the calls that is up for sale. Asking $35 TYD, postal money order only.
  2. He doesn't need to buy another license as long as it is valid till 9-30-12. However he won't be able to hunt in the Youth season for turkey. The age class is 12-15 for youth hunters.

    10 point

    Congrats on a nice buck!!
  4. I am posting these pic for a friend of mine. He is not a member on any forum and I wanted to help him sell some pens which he turns. These are quality turned pens with either an acrylic or a wood top. The ink cartridge is Paper Mate and comes in your choice of blue or black ink. Refills can be bought at any stationary supply store. They can be made in any wood except woods in the Rosewood family due to his allergic reactions to those woods. They come either in a brass or a nickel finish. The cost is $25 TYD and if you are interested in buying one you can PM me.
  5. Thanks again for the kind words. Lawdwaz... Yes my girl loves me or he wouldn't be hanging in her house. lol I've lived in NY most of my life but I've hunted out there 6 out of the last 9 years on private property. My buddy who lives out there found the sheds on the farm we hunt.
  6. Obviously what a deer eats will play into the flavor of the meat. However, more has to do with the proper and timely fashion in which the meat is handled. I always allow my deer to age, weather permitting, before I butcher it. As mentioned in a previous post, the biggest factor is the cook. If the cook doesn't know how to cook the venison it'll never taste good. I hear people say that they don't like it because it's gamey, that's only because they have never eaten it when it was cooked correctly.
  7. Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm very proud of him as you can imagine. I had the taxi mount him using the same form as the Jordan buck. I figured that would show him off the best and make him look truly majestic.
  8. I also his sheds from March of 2003. I killed him on Nov 6, 2003. My buddy found them laying next to each other in a winter wheat field.
  9. I shot this buck in 2003 during the IL archery season. The mount was ready and finished in Feb of 2004 but he stuck aroung the taxi studio on display till two weeks ago. I really didn't have the right place to hang my best buck ever, 167" P&Y typical. That is until I decided to hang him up at my girl's house. He now has a new home and I can see more of him!! Hope you guys enjoy seeing him as much as I do.
  10. I believe rifles are only legal to use during the fall season in PA. I'm looking forward to taking my nephew out for the Youth Hunt and then going from there. As usual I plan on hunting with my good friend Big Tom.

    4O

I agree. I hunted opening weekend and didn't see a deer and shots were very few and far in between. This was the worst hunting season we've encountered in 35 years of hunting. Matter of fact this is the first time that we've gone without a deer. Hopefully next year will bring better hunting.
  12. Here's one that just moved in by my girlfriend's house.
  13. I answered your question. If you're looking for an argument take it up with someone else.
  14. Yeah...if you're bowhunting. Otherwise there are multiple seasons that are open. i.e. goose, rabbit, squirrel, turkey and so on.
  15. I got mine for 1C and my preference point for 4O on Saturday Oct.1. You sure September 30 was the cut off?
  16. Congrats on your bear. You hunt in/near Bethel?
  17. To date this is the biggest buck that I've seen and harvested. He grossed 178" and netted 167" P&Y typical. Got him in 2003 during the IL archery season.
  18. Gotta love racks with character. Looks like he has a decent traveling companion as well.
  19. My friend's BIL was shot and killed by a member of his deer hunting party. The guy walking behind him was loading his gun and a shot went off. Hit him square in the middle of the back. My friend went deer hunting the following season but as the first shots rang out he snuck out of the woods and headed back to the camp. He hasn't hunted since. Also had another friend take some pellets in the face. He was walking up the logging road with his brother when his dad, who was hunting turkeys, shot at a bird. He didn't see his two sons walking up the road and the some of the pellets hit both his sons. Luckily neither of them was hurt badly. The father was so distraught he wanted to kill himself but luckily a friend was able to take the gun away from him.
  20. I still shoot aluminums. Still the best arrows IMO!!
  21. My buddy in IL found this shed last week on the property I hunt. He scored this side at 73" and with a matching side this 8 pointer would rough score at 166" with a 20"spread. For comparison the rack he's holding is an 8 point that scored 143".
  22. Anybody looking for a true custom made boxcall need not look any further. This is a good sounding call that will serve you well in the turkey woods. Tom makes some real good calls!!!
  23. These are non-res prices... $411 Archery Permit $300 Firearm Permit E/S tag $325 Firearm Permit E/S tag and Antlerless Only tag $57.75 Annual License $35.75 5 Day License $5.50 Habitat Stamp The Habitat Stamp and either one of the two license choices must be purchased along with the Permit in order to hunt.
  24. Here's a better look at one of Tom's calls that was used to take a couple of birds last season including one pictured in this thread. I happen to be the proud owner of this call now!! Tom makes some very good calls!!
